H955 LTE cat 9. 4G++ - LG G Flex 2

Different sources have different info. Does H955 have LTE cat 9? And how to enable if it does? Also will icon change to 4g++ or stays 4g+? My provider have launched LTE cat 9, but seems that i cant test it. Also they tell that only samsung s6 s6 edge can be used... Possible to enable it on my device?

My provider still not provide lte in my zone.... You are lucky...
Lte cat 6 is supported by flex 2
Same speed of s6/s6 edge, 450Mbps

In my zone I have LTE + but don't have any proof on LTE ++...
Inviato dal mio GT-I9505 utilizzando Tapatalk

I tested few times and max what i can get on speedtest was ~150mbps. When they were introducing new lte to journalists the s6 showed almost 300mbps. As i understand LTE cat 9 is using all 3 bands 800 1800 and 2600MHz, is it possible that its somehow locked by stock firmware?

Last time bump. If i root is there any additional settings for LTE?

You'll be getting a full control of the device when you will have got it rooted but this is not giving you any kind of extended LTE options. Provided that the thing you are looking for is a matter of additional info you may add into some file or implement to device , of course the root will help you. But seriously do not root your device for this LTE purpose. By root you won't get such an option just because you are rooted

looking to buy a d6616 unlocked for att

I found a few people that have unlocked a Tmobile z3, some say it works with att and others say it doesn't. I am looking to buy one and there is one locally that is a d6616. He suggests to unlock the sim for it to work on att. I read the manual and it says the d6616 can only use LET bands for 2, 4, and 12. so if I read this correctly, unlocking a sim, does only that - unlock the sim for other carriers, not unlock the sim to a d6603 where it has bands 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,13,17 and 20.
Am I correct or are all these D6603, d6633, d6643, d6653 and d6616 all have the same radio and when unlocked is available to all bands?
im skeptical because I have a LG VS980 (lg g2) and it does not have the main band 5 for ATT service so most of the time I get HSPA+ not LTE.
that is a good option,
I just got the D6616 for use on AT&T. Currently seeking a cost effective sim unlock code.

Does it work fine with at&t? You can unlock more bands, since all z3 use the same soc, snapdragon 801. That's not an easy task but can be done

I ended up selling it because I couldn't get it unlocked.

You could get it as cheap as 30 in cell unlocker or 35 in Xperiacodes, I've already unlocked many z1s and I'm using them with other carriers
Carriers that work on band 4

No, while they have the same silicon, the RF frontend circuitry is different.
Also, D6616, even if you manage to SIM-unlock it, will be bootloader-locked.
Get a D6603 instead - although since Sony closed down the Sony Store a few days ago, I don't know where you can get one with US warranty any more. Dumb of Sony to close down the ONLY place you could buy a Z3 without doing greymarket import shenanigans.
Is it necessary to unlock bootloader to unlock more bands?

Even if you unlock more bands with software hacks, the circuitry is wrong so you're going to have poor performance on those bands (just like the Nexus 4 LTE hack)
Fortunately my carrier uses band 4 and those 32gb are great, too bad the updates are slow

Exynos in the US?

Has anyone gotten an Exynos S7 to work in the US with any of our carriers?
I'm so desperate for a rooted S7 Edge that I'm ready to change carriers if I have to. :crying:
It probably will work but it won't work well, especially with T-Mobile (no band 12 or VoLTE). Just wait m8
I have been using g930s variant along with g930f kernel + roms in the us tmobile. I live in DC and LTE has been just fine. Maybe i am missing a band but whatever

I'm using the Exynos S7 on cricket and it works flawlessly. Performance is stellar, battery life is incredible and I get great LTE coverage everywhere.

How can you confirm that? I got the Exynos international version, with T-Mobile SIM card. I have AIDA64 but not sure where to look to confirm or deny that the LTE Band 12 is not there.
Cheers,
G.

T-Mobile has to certify and allow the phone to work on band 12 or else it won't be able to make 911 calls. They've verified the US S7 but I don't think they verified the international version.
Hello there,
Well, I can confirm that LTE Discovery App shows the LTE Band 12 working with T-Mobile. I have walked around the building where I work, and it switches back and forth from Band 4 to Band 12.
Hope this helps someone asking if the Samsung Galaxy Exynos International Version SM-G930F works with T-Mobile LTE Band 12 !
Cheers,
G.

it's frustrating that others have said recently that band 12 is NOT supported. what about wifi calling?
Hi there !
I belive that WIFI calling and the reduced Internet speed while on a phone call, are the two things that are different on the Exynos. Tell me how to check and make sure WiFi doea not work and I will try for you. I have tested the second one, and indeed the Internet speed is way reduced when talking on phone. Depending where you are, it is either H+ or 3G.
Hope that helps !
Cheers.

i believe there should be a setting for wifi calling within the "more connection settings". if it's not showing within the settings, then it's not supported.
as for band 12, how reliable is that app you used? a lot of people have mentioned that band 12 is not supported on the exynos model, so i'm really curious how yours has it.
thanks!
OK, there is no WiFi calling setting under there.
As for how reliable the App is, I have no idea, sorry. I searched and found it was mentioned in XDA for checking this kind of settings/capabilities. I will take a screen capture of it once I am in a building and it is showing the band used. My understanding is that LTE Band 12 is particularly good and improves signal inside buildings.

ok thanks for checking! yea band 12 is important for me, as i'm in NYC and inside buildings all the time. the extended range would definitely help.

That's because the Exynos version doesn't support VoLTE. Idk about WiFi calling though

Well i have Canadian Exynos Verison of S7, while roaming in US i had full LTE coverage of both AT&T and T-Mobile and with really good speeds

The Internattional version does support band 12. and it works, however for VoLTE you have to find a firmware that has it which is hard. the Czech t-mobile firmware has VoLTE but no WiFi calling
The "F" international version also has Band 17 for AT&T
why do people who DON'T have the phone act like they know what they are talking about.
Works fine on T-Mo, and ATT. you just miss out on some of the bands, and also carrier features like VoLTE.
my 930F works fine on Tmo. and it'll work fine on ATT as well.

Can I root / rom a NOTE 5 920P (Sprint) to make it work as a 920V Verizon?

Can I root / rom a Samsung Galaxy NOTE 5 920P (Sprint) to make it work as a 920V Verizon? Is it possible? I know they use a mixture of similar frequencies and technologies. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Pretty sure the Sprint variant isn't going to work on Verizon as the radio hardware is different. Best you can hope for is 3g or maybe 1 band of compatible LTE

thats what i was figurin too
aint checked the freq yet but know sprint lg g series and most of the new sammys pick up most of the gsm freqs.
just dempends on what verizon uses
about what happens when i use verizons on att 3 g only and when on talk data is 2g

Is there a way to enable UMTS Band 900Mhz on n920T?

I believe my operator uses 900MHz, for both 2g and 3g, however, my phone is not conencting to 3G.
I have been reading the specs which says the n920t has no 900Mhz 3g band available.
my wife phone, n920V is connecting well to 3g.
is there any way to enable the 900Band to the n920t ?
any trick?
900 Mhz band is 2G only on N920T. It should be a different radio chip so it's phisically missing.
N920V is missing a good number of LTE bands instead. Try to get a N920C if you can, it has every band (I have N920T too and here we use a lot of bands but in rural settings I'm left with no phone at all as I have no 900 mhz on my phone...).
Are you sure about this? I have seen on some phones, bands can be activated by using specially crafted QCN files.
i cant find a site to check that, i mean the n920p (sprint) has Exynos SOC 7420 too and it has 900mhz so im kinda confisued, if i flash a global stock ROM into my n920t would it pick 900mhz ? or its just brick ? even if i can remove all the bloatware it will worth the try

Normally phone would not allow flashing if it dislike the new flavour.

LTE-Advanced (4G+) doesn't seem to work in my p20 pr0

Whilst I'm being in area which is 100% covered by lte-a, using the same sim in other lte-a capable handsets (which get a 4g+ lock right away), only the p20 seems to stay only with regular 4g. Is my p20 defective? I already made sure that the high-speed lte is enabled in the menu, and I'm running the latest firmware.

On my P20 Pro and on wifey's P20, 4G+ works like a charm with no setup needed, so I'd recommend you to get in touch with Huawei support.
