Default area code when adding new contact ?

When I want to add new contact, I hit "Contacts->New" and start filling fields (Name, Company, Department, etc).
When in comes to any PHONE related field (like "Work Tel", "Mobile Tel", etc) it shows me "(425)" by default. Although I like this idea (less typing), but since my area code is different ... is there any way to change it ?
Even more ... I would like to set default to "+1 (813)", not just "(813)".
I believe, this "(425)" thing is somewhere in registry. Any ideas where it can be ?
Area code
you dont need any reg. change
go to Contacts--->Menu--->Options--->Area code
Thanks .... never even looked into "Contacts--->Menu--->Options--->Area code"
BTW you can set it not just to area code like "813", but to random prefix ... I set it to "+1 (813) "

Ringtones based off of area code/prefix (555) 555-????

Is there any way or software that can designate ringtones based off area code and prefix only. The military base I work at has its own prefix. I just don't want to have to enter all 1000 suffixes (0000-9999)
I'm looking for a something that allows you to set a single ringtone based off the area code and prifix only while leaving the suffix numbers blank (like using a wildcard). Something like the following.
(555) 555-XXXX
(555) 555-****
(555) 555-????
That way any number that calls from the base will have a set ringtone so I know its work related before I even get the phone.

I too am wondering about this. Except I want it based only off of the area code. Is there program out there that lets you set general ring tones based on phone numbers using wildcards? I know this hasn't had a response in some time now.... Anyway else in need of this same thing or does anyone know how to do this. I personally have the HTC Touch Pro if that's helpful.
Thanks!
bump!
I've been looking for something like this too, only for text message sounds not rings. I get facebook updates via text message and I'd like to be able to tell the difference without looking at my phone. Anyone?

Off topic, I know, but it lies in my blood to send regards to any brother or sister in the military. Especially our allies.
I have Afghanistan coming up in two months.

[Q] "enable home country when roaming"

This is one of the phone settings in my DS.
Can anyone explain exactly what it means ?
I know the basics of roamiing but this one is beyond me.
A google search on that phrase reveals nothing ;-(
- Thanks !
It adds the international dial code to numbers in your contacts list when you're roaming .
Eg , if your phone is set up in Ireland , it adds +353 to the beginning of any dialed numbers when roaming .
It adds +44 to UK based phones when roaming.
It can be useful if you don't have your numbers saved with the internatiomal dial code .
Click on "home dialing" to see more options.
Hope this helps.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
That's very useful to know for when I go on holiday.
Actually, I have set OUTLOOK to include +44 on all my numbers as "UK", so I probably won;t need to use the function - But at least I now now ;-)

[APP][3.0+] Dynamic pin app lock

Lock your apps with state-of-the-art authentication algorithm.
Dynamic pin app lock helps to secure your PIN from shoulder surfing and key loggers.
Dynamic pin app lock changes the pin based on an expression you set in the application. After every use, the pin is destroyed and new pin is generated. Only the user, who know the expression can evaluate the new pin. Deducing the expressions from pin is not a trivial task .
You can set any expression like a+d , a*f , g-c ...

Unlock duration
App unlock duration can be specified while unlocking. Currently durations can be 5 , 10 or 30 minutes.
Default selection can be changed in APP LOCK --- Verification configs.
This will help my friend CP and others who want to secure the app based on duration.
To see locked app duration status , go for the first Icon in action bar.

It may not keep master hackers from breaking into your apps, but it's surely enough to keep your nosey, mathematically-inept, friends out.

Dynamic pin android app comment.
The question is can we keep hackers and mathematically adept friends also out ? Let us try ,
a 3-----b 5-----c 9
d 1-----e 4-----f 2
g 6-----h 5-----i 6
Can you locate first even number in the matrix ?
It is e , 4 .
In dynamic pin we will have random matrix for every authentication, so we will have different even numbers every time.
On repeating finite times , won`t they have clue that we are always locating even number in the matrix ?
Ok , let us add a offset at the end.
OFFSET = 3 ;
Now can you locate first even number in the matrix with offset 3 .
First even number is at e . Add three offset we move to f, g and finally h , 5 .
Now it is h , 5 .
Why do we need to look the matrix in the order a , b , c , d . . . ?
Let us look reverse i , h , g . . .
Now can you locate first even number in the matrix ?
It is i , 6
Now we have to add offset 3 . But matrix ends . So we look from a , b , c ...
So it is c , 9 . So we have pattern for looking at the matrix.
Can we make these computations simpler ?
Can we be more creative ?
My friend hate odd numbers . He equally hate even numbers. But he likes the pictures of 4 , 6 , 8 , 9 . Because these pictures/numbers have a circle/hole/enclosed area so he can easily pin point these numbers. These are also non-planar numbers. We cannot write these numbers without intersection in a paper. Where as 1 , 2 , 3 , 5 , 7 are planar numbers.
Can you locate second hole number with offset 2 ?
Very first time these functions will make you tired , but after 4 or 5 times hole/planar functions are easier than even adding two numbers.
On summarising,
we are increasing the entropy of the expression without expensive computational aspects. These computations can be done mentally easily .
