I did but there are about 10 different versions to choose from for the s6 and they don't all work. I really don't want to end up flashing it. I still haven't made a back up of my phone so I need to solve this quickly

They only work if you are rooted. If you are not, you'll have to root your device first.

I am rooted with a kernel mod. But anyway I figured it out myself

Not able to root or install TWRP on Galaxy S6 5.1.1 (SM-G920I) at all.

Hi everyone,
Trying to root my Galaxy s6 SM-G920I India version but no luck. Had to restore stock firmware thrice today. Every time I used ODIN 3.10.6 with Unibase or Unikernal it would say kernel is not SEAndroid enforcing and stick to a bootloop. If I use the CF auto root method it says Recovery is not SEAndroid enforcing and again bootloop.
Trying the alternative method of installing TWRP also does not work and I get the same recovery enforcing message and bootloop. Please help. R/L is off.
I had the same problem with Indian firmware. The latest one.
I quit trying to get root.

I have the issue too guys. The newest UAE firmware(CSC XSG) is not letting the TWRP stick after flashing with Odin. I've asked for help over in the Help & Troubleshooting section. Hopefully we can figure this out.

But seems that is unable to root. And I want to erase some bloatware to make it lighter
Thanks anyway for your help

I tried this method on this website but no luck.????
There is a thread on xda about how to root DOL5 formware by an INDIAN USER USING G925I.
Not all had success with it. I would suggest sticking with DOK9 firmware and wait for a few days as android 6.0.1 has started rolling already in Korea for s6(both variants)
The changes between DOK9 and DOL5 is not huge and not worth an upgrade

Want to unlock my bootloader + installing TWRP

Hello all,
I am receiving tomorrow my new Samsung S6 and i want to know some things.
- Unlocking bootloader (how to and link?) - have searched a bit and you need ODIN. but what is the best version etc
- Installing TWRP3.0 (how-to) - where to find the latest TWRP for samsung s6
And than one of the most important question, is there a stock android that doesent have any buys and fc's????
Bootloader is not locked on S6 (except AT&T variant)
You can get latest ODIN from here;
http://dl.sammobile.com/Odin3_v3.10.7.zip
If you want to install TWRP on it;
1- Update it to Marsmallow if you haven't
2- Install this TWRP via ODIN;
http://arter97.com/browse/S6/kernel/13.1/g920fi/arter97-recovery-g920fi-13.1-twrp_3.0.2-0.tar.md5
3- Boot up to TWRP and flash this ZIP before do anything on TWRP;
https://download.chainfire.eu/932/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524.zip

Wouldn't this order make more sense so he had a backup in case something goes wrong?
Also, here are the threads for TWRP and SuperSU for the S6 on XDA:

No, and there probably won't be any for a long time, but there are lots of TouchWiz-based custom ROMs.
so basicly i dont need any customezation? because you telling me there will not be released a custom stock rom? Even a CM13 rom
thats poor services!

Correct. The only custom ROMs availability now and the foreseeable future are based on TouchWiz, not AOSP Android or CyanogenMod.

He need dm-verity disabled boot image for working TWRP backups. That's why I suggest him to install this ZIP.
While reading topics on the internet (google)
If you THE smartphone update to 6.0 you do not need to unlock the bootloader. is this correct?
For now i will not use TWRP because there isent a proper ROM for the S6. is this because the exynoss CPU? because QSD cpu's have always the better support for CM..

As I said before, there's no bootloader unlock because bootloader is factory-unlocked on Samsung devices.
If you want root, you should to use TWRP for install the latest SuperSU.
Yes, there's no CM ROM for Exynos 7420 right now. Maybe in future? Who knows...
is there a twrp that works because the original twrp that i download form twrp.me isent working getting a weird issue: recovery is not seandroid enforcing

i tried to install it, used the AP method in Odin.
But when i want to go in TWRP recovery i get the stock recovery! How to solve this issue
I'm having this issue as well on the T-Mobile variant. I have tried the unchecking auto reboot option in Odin and manually going to recovery. When I successfully flash according to Odin, I can't not get past the Recovery is not Seandroid enforcing boot.

Recovery for Marshmallow?

Hello all! I recently updated my Spring Note5 to Marshmallow! I quickly installed the Aurora Kernel to root it and got xposed installed via FlashFire. I was just curious as to if there was a Custom Recovery for marshmallow yet? I tried the latest TWRP and got stuck in a bootloop (soft brick). I was able to recover it luckily. Is there a working custom recovery yet? Thank you!
Here is the TWRP link for the Note 5 running marshmallow https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995314665

Twrp is working but I got stuck in a bootloader trying to flash the twrp update with flashfire Odin is best way I had to use Odin to recover out of the bootloop
The file that I posted you don't need to use Odin or flashfire just install the Zip file then you can boot the cell into TWRP

Need Serious Help With My Samsung Galaxy J7

First of all,Please sorry for my English.
I have Samsung Galaxy J700F.I brought it 4 months back.So first thing I did with my J7 is I rooted it.Everything was going fine but then Marshmallow came for J7.So I updated my J7 to MM,but after updating it my J7 got unrooted.So I once again downloaded odin,twrp and update files.But I was not able to flash TWRP as it was failing everytime and in the end I bricked my phone.Then I downloaded Stock Rom for J7 and tried flashing but it always failed at cm.bin. I searched google for the error and everyone said that you have to delete cm.bin and then again repack it as tar.I did what they said but this Odin failed at cache.img , so i deleted that too.Now Odin failed at Hidden.img:silly:...Just make sure i deleted it too.Now Odin failed at system.img. But i cant delete system.img as thats the main thing in Rom.I once again searched google for the errors and everyone said I downloaded wrong Stock rom.But It is absolutely rite rom.So at the end I used Smart Switch for fixing my J7.I lost all hope for rooting my J7.But yesterday I once again tried to root my J7.So I first tried rooting my J7 using apps and computer tools(kingoroot,one click root,iroot etc).Everything failed.Then I again tried rooting by twrp method and same error and still cant flash rom using odin.My mobile is bricked rite now and I am installing rom using smart switch.
SO what can I do.Is there any way to root my J7 .Sorry for length thread.
Thanks.
you should've just used TWRP to flash latest SuperSU. make sure you're flashing the correct stock rom.
For marshmallow use SuperSu 2.78 or newer

Flashing your stock firmware via Odin will remove TWRP and root, if you get a bootloop after flashing the firmware, you will need to boot into stock recovery and factory reset the device to fix the bootloop.
What error did you get when you used Odin?
