Hi There,
Please forgive me I am a complete novice when it comes to Android phone.
I have a chinese Dual sim phone that I have routed with superoneclick. I have put clockworks recovery on it with rom manager as I was trying to create a copy of the ROM. I also installed Droid X Recovery Bootstrap, however in droid x I pressed the fix permission option and the phone started changing permissions everywhere and now my phone wont start. It keeps booting up in a loop and I cannot get to the recovery to wipe the memory and start again
What SOC does the device use?
If its Allwinner based, you could boot from mmc or reflash with livesuit.
21ss, thank you for the reply.
Sorry my friend, I have no idea what you mean by What SOC does the device use?
You say that you can boot from the mmc slot, please tell how and with what software.
Never heard of livesuit.
I have attached a word document in rar of the ebay item that I purchest.
Any help that you can give me would be very much appreciated.
At the moment I have a paper weight.
Regards chunky2.

Hey guys the good thing about this phone is that you cant brick it, it cant be hard bricked easily... but I suggest you go to this discussion and find possible solutions, I had same issue and even tho I never managed to fully sort the issue, its because of my laziness... I could if I wanted, I managed to get it to a position I can use it and I have been using it like so for months now... here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1618775&page=3
Stock rom with occidental google apps that cam with the 2nd gen of V6888 (The one with no logo and with the back you can remove from top right)
No Root, no Recovery, but no chinese apps: just for prople who wants to restore the phone to a clean stock rom then you can easily root and add recovery.
I had to ask a seller for it, Pandawill has only the old one with tons of china apps and no european market.
The archive contains drivers with explanation, SP Flash Tools and the folder with the rom itself.
You must use "download" function since BOOT ini will remain the older one.
Apparently this firmware saved even my camera that didn't work before.
Be careful and, anyhow, you can find the older stock rom from Pandawill easily.
Here is the UbuntuOne Link

Inside the rar you'll find the flash tool, just follow a tutorial to flash an MTK.
In a nutshell:
-open the SPFlashTool
-choose file->open scatter and select the scatter in the firmware folder (there is just one, you can't go wrong)
-connect the phone to the computer (Win only, sorry) without the battery, press Download, then Ok when he says boot.ini is missing
-insert the battery and the it will start flashing the firmware till you see a green circle.
Disconnect, boot, and here you are!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdUdHejJor4
here is a video of a full tutorial that consider even the driver setup, but you don't need it if you installed snappea or PDAnet , since the MTK driver are installed by those two software.
Or just google around for the MTK6577 drivers, maybe you can find them in a standalone installer.
If you have win 7/8 remember to allow the non signed driver installation (google is your friend here too...hehehe)
Thanks DioMOrgan
I have few questions:
Will this work on an already rooted phone? (more like do I have to skip any steps so as not to root it again?)
Does this install ENglish Play store (You mentioned Occidental but was not sure of which language it might contain)
WIl this also cure the satellite and GPS problmes reported elsewhwre?
Kindly guide me.
Thanks

Guys are Italian and I write a little bad English: I am in a serious fix, my V6888 is corrupted.
I followed the guide you provided, only that when I came out the inscription that is missing the BOOTIMG I have posted the file "uboot_bd86_77_emmc_v6888.bin" inside the folder of ROMS and I gave the OK. I have installed everything except that now the phone stops on initial Android logo and does not go ahead, it seems to go right. What can I do to recover? I tried to redo the flash without check of BOOTIMG, installed everything again but the phone does the same defect. How do I save it? Please help!!! Thank you all and have a nice day!!!

I solved it by installing Pandawull ROM first and then reinstalling this without BOOTIMG. Doing this everything was fine, now the phone works fine! Thanks all the same!!: Vittoria:

It deosnt allow me to go forward. I tried the volume down and power button and it just comes up with the factory page where you test the hardware and reboot.(Blue screen). Doesnt give me download OR recover options. Usually yellow/green.
Even the mtk 6577 drivers are difficult to load on WIndows XP sp3. (although it says downloaded successfully). When connecting this softbricked phone, nothing happens!
Any ideas and help please?
Thanks in advance

There is not much development since last year. I just about managed the 4.0.4 for English play store and stuff.
Hello everyone.
I have an Alcatel One Touch 908F running Android 2.2.2 that I chose to root and install a 2.3 ROM since no official update was released and it had a lot of advantages that I really need. I successfully rooted it with VROOT, install a CWM 5.0.2.7 recovery and flashed two custom ROMs based on 2.2.2 (the one for Alcatel One Touch 908S WIND, and the one for Alcatel One Touch 908Q T-Mobile) just for testing.
Both successfully worked with no problems at all (except the fact that Back, Home and Menu changed their places but it was fixed by flashing a tool that I found on this forum - Thank you so much, developers!) so I wanted to flash a 2.3 ROM, but I didn't realize that it wasn't approprite (It was only for Alcatel One Touch Telenor, and the worst: it wasn't told in the instructions!). I knew it when, once my phone booted for the 1st time, it showed the "Telenor" logo reversed on top, and white lines at the bottom of the screen. So I reverted back to my stock ROM using a backup made with CWM.
I got the stock ROM again. Only now, neither the touchscreen nor the lighting Home, Menu and Back keys are working! Hitting the screen acts like hitting the Menu button!
I tried many ROMs, and it didn't work. Well, the good thing is that I still have root access, USB debugging enabled and CWM 5.0.2.8 recovery.
I'm really desperate. My phone is out of warranty. Is my phone really as useful as a brick, now? I hope it isn't. Can you help me, please? I urgently need my phone to work again because I can't afford to buy a new one or repair it! Is there any software that can bring my only smartphone back to life? Shall I switch to TWRP recovery? Which ROM shall I flash?
Thank you so much in advance for your help!
UP... (Since there was no reply for so long...)
I see, it is not a popular model
I found out that the problem can be solved by flashing the stock kernel which contains the original touchscreen drivers needed to make it work again, but I couldn't find the file. Can anyone upload it for me, please? If this is not the right way,
Does anyone have another, please? Thank you!

Flash everything ( including ROM , boot.img etc. ) created for your device . It will solve the problem .
As a warning, don't flash other device's firmware , until you became a porter or using an Android one :sly:
Hope I helped !

OP hasn't been online since 2015 so provably yes
Hello to all community members.
First, sorry for my english...is not very good.
I post this questions here because I searched a lot on google and on this forum and others, and I can't found a solution.
I tell my situation: Samsung S5 clone, on box SM-G900. Under battery SM-G9008. On droidtool MT6571, SM-G900H, LCD Driver IC : 0-rm68171_fwvga_dsi_vdo_tm., UBIFS. And on recovery GT-I9008. Is made in Korea.
Well, in first moment I can enter to recovery, but triying things now is totally dead, no charge, no recovey, no lights...
I tried a lot of things, but i found a rom from needrom it makes the phone alive, but with black screen.
Knowing this:
1. I found another ROM with that LCD drivers (it means in description), but is not for MT6571 and I can't flash with sp flashtool. Question: Is possible to "extract" drivers from one rom to another?? This is "copy" LCD driver from the rom to needrom's.
2. I found another roms on another forum, for MT6571, but any worked. That it makes me think that the chip is not really MT6571, but if I try to flash a 6572 i get "chip not match" from flashtool. I tried to make a backup and the program droidtool creates a scatter for 6572, is strange. Question: is only droidtools the program needed to know real hardware?? Searching on google for that model, i found a lot of roms for MT6572 with all the characteristics from phone, but only 2 o 3 with MT6571. But, the rom for MT6571 is only the one it flash without errors.
3. Where I can find a stock rom for that phone???
I need a way to unbrick the phone, I think is possible, but I don't have an original backup or any file from the original android
Any suggestions??
I think that these questions are in this section, if I should go elsewhere sorry...
A lot of thanks.
I add some new info about this.
I tried to connect the phone to pc, and I can view the folders and files from inside. My question now is:
The phone is running but black screen, is possible to change lcd driver on any folder?? Where are installed lcd drivers on android device mtk???
Please, I need some clue about this...
Thank you!!
Like the title said . I can open fastboot before ,and after flashing i cant open it.
When flashing via SP FLASH TOOL, I'M NOT REPLACING CWM RECOVERY.IMG with STOCK RECOVERY, why? Cause sp flash tool will say erorr blahblahblah if i changing that.
Used ago, I'm pretty sure if i can open Fastboot when my phone still on factory setting. So, anybody can help me?
Btw the phone have no problem right now (except this one) and working perfectly. But you know , i just want to try something new . Really thanks if you can help me.
My phone is ADVAN S5E Pro with MTK6572 inside
