How to flash Lighting kernel over Sultan's CM 13 ? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys , I'm using Sultan's CM13 , and I tried to flash yesterday and sadly got my phone stuck . I used TWRP2.8.6.0 and both of the ROM and Lighting kernel are the lasted . I flashed Lighting kernel over Cm 13 , and my phone got stuck , then I flashed CM 13 again , it booted but with nothing changed even I had flashed kernel before , then I tried to flash Lighting kernel again , and my phone got stuck again . so , anyone knows how can I get Lighting kernel running on my phone ?
And another bad thing , my oneplus one has got a problem , the middle part of it's screen can not recognize any touching behavior , but it displays good . So , anyone got the same problem ?

Lightening kernel is not compatible with sultan's caf build. In fact on sultan's thread it states that custom kernels are not compatible full stop.

HTC Based ROM Problem

All other Roms and i mean it ,, is flashed well and i can open it normally but always i find what makes make annoyed >> " All Modems are nearly off "
- Wifi error
- bluetooth no working
- my carrier not working and i can't make a call " the signal appear with cross as being offline "
please help me , as i need to upgrade my rom badly
Do you flash the boot.img from the ROM after each flash??
Here's how - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19071114&postcount=37
Many thanks for you , i just thought that flashing the boot.img in the first time only will fit
thanks very much , it worked well
Remember, you need to flash it every time you flash a ROM. In most cases, it won't boot at all without flash. Sometimes, it may boot but you'll experience the issues you did right now.

I flashed it with this TWRP version just fine:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2476238
I know it is an old build - I tried to update to the latest 2.7.xxx but it has been giving me constant errors.. It flashes perfectly fine on my XT925 with this version of TWRP.
Thanks for the help, i tried twrp, i flashed miui but still crashing every 2min...

Interesting.. I never had that happen.. I wouldn't say it is a fluid and ultra stable experience, but can't say I had any FCs or anything other than random freezes on the gallery....
What caused me a lot of performance issues was the Xiaomi download engine and the rom felt overall much more resonsive and fluent after I disabled it.. maybe you want to try that.. just go to the "Downloads" app => Settings and disable the Xiaomi Donwload engine/manager.
It will warn you about bad internet speeds.. just ignore, the opposite is the case =)
good luck
Hum, I already tried that i was thinking my problem was solved but 15min later, crash, crash and crash ...
Flash another ROM... [emoji38]
Why should i flash another rom ? I only want MIUI and this is the only rom which had it.

I'm facing the same problem too... last week only i rooted my phone and installed CWM recovery...then i installed Custom Rom's like Hassan ROM, Omega ROM, Cyanogenmod 11 Rom, Pacman ROM etc etc just to check various Rom's and their features out.....At first i installed only one ROM at a time and den also dual booted two ROM's by romswitcher...While i was checking my phone once i discovered that my phone's Bluetooth is not turning ON...The toggle is only becoming light green and also from the settings its only showing turning Bluetooth On but it's unable to turn bluetooth On.....Now i googled my problem and read across various forums for solution...I tried various things also flashed my firmware to stock samsung but still bluetooth does not turn On...also i flashed with stock samsung firmware of feb and march 2014 and updated my phone over OTA but still the problem persists....i even installed latest perseus kernel while rooted but still could not turn my bluetooth ON.
I would be very grateful if someone can help me solve my problem and help me Switch ON my bluetooth as it is very needed aspect for my daily use.
My Version of S4 is i9500 with android kitkat 4.4.2. Also all my other features are working normally on custom ROM's too.

OPO Freeze and Reboots Constantly! HELP!!!!

Okay So I had been using CM12.1 Nightly when this first happened. After switching on my phone, within two to three minutes my phone would hang up, freeze and reboot! It used to happen all the time.
After which i downlaoded stock Cyanogen OS and flashed it wiping every partition possible. After a almost 3 hrs of use this problem started occurring again even on stock rom!
Also the gestures stop working like only music and camera gestures work and not Flashlight even if it is turned on. I read on a few forums flashing modem helps but didnt quite work out! Please help me out soon. My phone is almost unusable right now!

What method did you use to flash the stock Cyanogen OS? Recovery or fastboot?
I first flashed 17 Build number with Fastboot! Had no good....Changed kernels to AK and Boeffla and back to stock no good
Then I downloaded the entire Stock 23 build and flashed it...no good
Help me! Please
Only if I format everything it holds stable! I formatted everything and flashed build 23 again 2 hours ago! And rebooted now with AK kernel! Lets see....Any logs u want me to submit?
EDIT: Freeze and rebooted! Same thing happens with Boeffla kernel! Though I guess I am the only one facing this issue and its not a issue with the kernel! But still I'm fastbooting the stock kernel from 23 Build now!

Ambient display keeps screen backlight on

Hello.
My problem is that sometimes, when I receive a notification, ambient display turns screen on to show it (as it should do normally), but then, when it is supposed to turn screen off again, it only goes black, but the backlight is still on. It's hard to notice, but I don't want the backlight on, using battery, when I think it's off.
The only way to turn it off is by activating ambient display again (moving the phone, waving in front of proximity sensor, pressing power button), and then it would show my normal lock screen and then turn off, until "something" makes it leave the backlight on again.
Anyone have/had/knows this issue? I've used Mokee ROM, now I'm on RR and it happened on both, I don't remember if it happened in CM. Could it be something app related?
Thanks.
Yeah same happened with cm 12.1 latest nightly too.....just checked it now...
The Answer
Hi there !
When you have installed the custom rom, you have probably flashed directly from another custom rom , is this correct?
If so, it may be your phones drivers slightly messed up at the moment seeing as it has different parts from other roms, depending on how you flashed it.
My solution would be to flash the stock firmware , which can easily be found in the forums, and then flash twrp, then your rom of choice. If that doesn't work, its likely a bug in that specific build of the rom you are installing , seeing as another person who has replied has had the same problem .

That's strange! I guess it may be something like the drivers you said, because just one user said that have the same problem, but I'll have to wait until I have some free time to flash stock and root and flash CM and restore all apps and that again... I hate that part of installing another ROM.

Ok, I have spent some time thinking about this one for you, as I really want you to get this one fixed!
Although I need abit more information.
1) Does the issue occur on stock rom?
2)Are you sure it is not a problem with the build you are running?
3)What exact steps did you use to flash the rom?
To show that you appreciate my help so far, please click thanks

Thanks!
1)I can't tell if it occurs on stock, because on stock I use moto display (which doesn't have this issue).
2) I'm almost sure, because I've used 2 ROMs and both do the same. Maybe I'll have to try with CM nightlies?
3)I followed the guide in "general" section to flash stock using fastboot and android sdk. After that, I booted on stock, then rebooted to bootloader, flashed TWRP, entered to recovery, wiped data and then flashed RR ROM with it's gapps and then flashed moto camera and gallery. After that, wipe dalvik and cache and rebooted to system.
Right , ok. I recommend trying one of the cm12 nightly builds, seeing as they worked on my phone fine in terms of ambient display

Well, the other user that commented on this post was also using latest CM nightly, so I'm not very positive about it, but I may try it when I have time.
Well , looking at all of the information In this post , I think it is safe to say ambient display is not fully working on many roms :/
I installed a new build of cm12 earlier, and I found that sometimes the backlight will stay on , but other times it is fine.
If you want to work on this together, email me at [email protected] , and then we can look into it abit further ?
I will take a thorough look into the forums to see if others are recieving any problems as well .
