I have purchased a Chinese HDC Galaxy S5 G9000. It is a dual sim. From the start only face camera works. The first sim card is recognized by cannot place a call with it. When calling it does not dial and then hangs off.
I contacted the Technical service of the company which sold me the phone, and directed me to update ROM and flash tool. Unfortunately their flash tool works only with Windows (which I don't have), and everything is Chinese (which I don't know). I have tried to update the ROM using recovery. In the menu there is an option to update from sdcard. When I use that option and select the new ROM it starts "updating" but after a few seconds I get the message "updating (or operation, not very sure) aborted".
I have tried with ADB (on Ubuntu 12.04). I have succeeded in rooting the phone using fastboot. I have also managed to flash boot.img. But when trying to flash System.img, it takes hours, and at the end I get the message "Failed.... can't find device" or similar. And here I cannot see the device until I remove the phone from the computer and put it again.
I have also tried to update the ROM using ROM manager. But I get the same message: "operation aborted"
Can any one help
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Flashing from recovery is generally not an option
SPFlash tool is available for Linux - I can't post a link but check the forums (thread 2650125) or google it up.
There are heaps of stock and custom RoM's over at needrom dot com .. and most of these have great instructions on how to flash for this phone - Just search for G9000.
Good Luck
Hello,
My phone: GSMART Roma R2 (Rooted)
I know there are a lot of threads how to restore IMEI but none of them worked when I dial up *#06#, it shows message with two lines containing "null".
I was using MIUI rom for a while and suddenly after I rebooted phone SIM was no longer recognized (before reboot I was playing with SWAP couldn't make it work so I uninstalled BusyBox (could that cause the issue?))
I already tried:
Engineering Mode: Displays "AT command is failed to send"
Terminal Emulator: Doesn't work
MAUI 3G: Flashing new IMEI changed nothing.
MTK Droid Tool - Changing IMEI did nothing.
SN Writer: Writing new IMEI changed nothing BUT when I choosed to read IMEI it successfully displayed both IMEI in the textbox. (So it looks like the IMEI actually is registered on the phone but phone doesn't seem to use it)
Manually writing MP0B_001 to NVRAM: Nothing changed.
I have used backup in CWM recovery to stock ROM, didn't work, then I did factory reset, didn't work, flashed back the stock recovery and installed update from Gigabyte site, didn't work. So basicly now my phone has stock rom, stock recovery, factory reseted and is rooted.
Thank you very much for any answers because I just fell hopeless about fixing my phone
Hi there,
I see you already posted new thread in the right place: [Q] IMEI null and SIM not recognized, nothing works
Please wait an answer there.
Thanks, thread closed.
Hi there,
I am happily using my Mi4i since more than a year now. Now I moved on to a new device and given my Mi4i to wife. Before giving it I did factory reset and internal storage wipe using 'recovery' (stupid me, should have done from settings). Phone booted up, everything was fine. But when ever I turned on Wifi (when ever the phone got connected to internet) it showed a screen says 'Activate this device'. What is the big deal, I entered my password clicked Activate. Well that gave me a mini heart attack. It said invalid activation code.! Then I noticed carefully and sadly figured out that the Mi account number showing in the activation message screen is different than my actual account number. Don't know how this happened How can I get over this ? or atleast know which email ID is associated to the showing Account (it shows account number with **** in the middle).? will a complete image flash fix this issue ? any help will be appreciated.
Note : Obviously you guys can think like I am a thief and it is a stolen device. If there is any proof needed I can post the original invoice here
Just try flash again with latest ROM via fastboot
Flashboot should resolve your issues, and now since you are flashing it as a secondary device, it may be worth upgrading it to Android 6.0.1 :

Unable to Get Phone ID
I am unable to get my Honor 8 phone ID which I require to 'unlock' the bootloader as the phone will NOT start up into Android. It boots to the point where it asks for the Region, then Language, then WiFi, etc and then it goes back to the beginning, THUS Region, Language, WiFi, etc. but it never boots into Android as a result I am not able to check the Phone ID or to enable anything like USB debugging, etc.
What I have done to get to this point:
The phone updated > it seems like the update was unsuccessful as it got stuck in a loop where it would ONLY boot to the Huawei eRecovery.
Then I read a post to 'roll-back' to the earliest version (FRD-AL10...135) which I did and then from the SD Card installed the stock firmware (update.app) by using the Pwr+Volme UP+Volume Down buttons. It succeeded to install the stock firmware and ever since then I am stuck at the Region, Language, WiFi, Terms Agreement, etc - BUT it never gets past the selection - it just loops over and over.
I have again installed the stock firmware as above, but it fails to start and continuously gets stuck at the Region, Language, etc selections.
Could anyone please provide help if possible.
All the other posts I read, I need the 'bootloader' to be unlocked, BUT I am unable to get the Phone ID to get the UNLOCK code.
I have also read some posts which suggests I use 'adb' and 'fastboot' to 'recover' the phone to stock firmware, BUT I constantly get an error - "FAILED - Remote: Command not allowed".
So at this point I am not sure how to go any further.
PS: I have also had the phone to my local Huawei Service Centre, but they refuse to help me with the Honor 8 as I did not buy it in S-Africa.

It is impossible to determine which firmware the phone had before it broke as I imported the phone from China, and I did not have a reason to unlock the phone before it broke, hence the reason I did not have a need for the Product ID when the phone functioned properly, it is only after it broke that I had to have access to all this information in an attempt to get it back to a functioning state. That being said, the phone worked perfectly for a week until it did an OTA 'update', when the phone restarted I was presented with all kinds of trouble.
I have since been able to start the phone up in Android after I had to buy DC-Unlocker credits to get the phone to boot properly. UN-locking the phone via DC-Unlocker, unlocked the FRP and only thereafter I was able to unlock the bootloader and root the phone, and get access to USB debugging settings, etc.
Hello, I was having issues with my phones (ZTE MAX XL N9560) cellular network, being that although I was having no problems with my phones signal and even had good data connection on my phone I realized I couldn't receive any calls or text messages on the phone, It simply didn't work anymore...The network was good, internet connection was also good but I noticed carrier services such as text messaging were simply not working and to cap it all off, My wireless tethering mobile hotspot was also not working too. I tried tinkering with the network settings even using the android hidden menu *#*#4636#*#* to change the network bands trying to see if it would somehow solve my dilemma but ALL to no avail. So I finally decided to flash the stock rom of the phone in desperate hopes it would be my saving grace but as LUCK would have it the flashing process failed. The QFIL software I was using to flash the stock gave me a FLASH FAIL: FIREHOSE.MBN WAS UNABLE TO LOAD THE IMAGE; AND THAT WAS THE HAMMER ON THE NAIL FOR MY PHONE IT HARD BRICKED. So right now I'm left with a dead phone unable to to power it on, go to FTM mode and even worse it wont boot to EDL mode(Emergency Download Mode) which would have given me hopes to restore the phone. I'm only able to boot it to the ZTE HANDSET DIAGNOSTIC MODE which enables my computer to identify the phone. I've tried using several other qualcomm and zte device flashers and its either I get a FAIL UNABLE TO SWITCH TO EDL MODE or it flat out wont work at all
Can anyone, somebody please help me out with this please ......
THANKS:good:
if you got the right firehouse programmer and you have qfil/qset set up right with your files in the right places...and the correct ROM/firmware....I'm gonna ask you a crazy question ..Doesthe folder that your rom is in probably have the name of the firmware build like when downloaded normally right?? but I was in a similar situation with an alcatel I dug and dug and on Qualcoms dev site and I dont wanna search for it because it would probably take a month to locate the web site said with instructions to change the name of your ROM file to a file name with just 7 numbers not matching... I used 8675309 and it worked...my jaw dropped and I had fastboot
Do a search in here for the ZTE DFU MultiDL A2017X tool.
I bricked my N9560 and it puts it into EDL mode.
