I have a new Gear S2, and the voice recognition on voice memos has been working well. However on the phone, all I can find is the audio recordings. It would be much better to have the transcribed text on my phone somewhere, like as a notification or in the Gear App on the phone. Is it somewhere that I am missing?
Solved my own problem by making IFTTT one of my Buddies, and then I can send voice texts to that and from IFTTT the possibilities are endless.

I love google voice, but the only thing that is stopping me from using it as my main number is i dont like using the voice app to text. I do a lot of texting and i like the stock messaging interface (samsung captivate)
I know i can add that "other" number for each contact and that would work, but its really too much work and far from ideal.
anyone have any ideas?
EDIT: ive heard some use Handcent for sms, could it be integrated with this more easily?
Hello,
Anybody can recommend application which with minimal hassles will allow me to record a voice, transcribe it into email and send it to me. I need this functionality to record important things where paper is not around or when driving etc.
You could just use Google Voice.

How do I do that? I call my own Google Voice number? It'll send me into voicemail?
Hey there xda dudes,
I'm searching for an app or rather a feature which I can't find: I want to send voice/ audio messages like walkie talkie apps and also have voice recognition in there, so that me and friends don't have to hear the message and can also read it, even if it was recorded as a voice message and not typed. That would be awesome!
Even better if it was streaming and sending while recording and also, with the new ICS "open mic voice recognition" instant transcribing )
Looking forward to your helps and respons0rz

HeyTell can do audio messages but I dont think it can do the voice recognition part...
Hey, yes thank you, that's also what I found. There are a couple of apps which can do voice messages, but found none that transcribe to text. Which would be incredibly awesome.

I use the flexT9 keyboard and regularly use the speech to text option to enter a text msg/instant message in various programs...that seems to be what you're really looking for.

Thank you, but nah... I'm searching for BOTH voice message AND transcribed text... so I can send recorded messages without having to type what I said. But still send the voice message, because it's different from just text.
Just bought the watch today and so far I'm liking it. I realized that some people were posting you could not reply to Hangouts messages from the watch and after searching over some old threads on another forum I found one about the Gear S where some guy said that after installing the Android Wear app from the Play Store all of a sudden he could now reply to Hangouts messages through his watch. It didn't make sense why that would work, but I downloaded Android Wear to my phone to check it out anyways. Miraculously now I'm able to reply to Hangouts messages from the watch just like you can from the messaging app, etc. And best of all since I use Google Voice for all of my calls and SMS messages through Hangouts for all of my text messages, when I reply to a hangout from my watch it shows up on the other persons phone. If I could only figure out a way to get all of the Google Voice alias numbers for my contacts I could make all incoming/outgoing calls and texts from my phone AND watch use my Google Voice number...
Reading some reviews only one I read recently pointed out that using gear s3 on a not Samsung android smartphone you cannot use s voice to perform text to speech in answering, for instance, SMS or mail or whatsapp, etc
Is it really true? That's a shame!!!
What else will I miss using a not Samsung android phone?
Tia
I have the Gear S3 Frontier paired with a OnePlus 3 and S Voice is working, I can answer and write messages by using my voice but I can't read my text messages or my emails, I just have a notification when it comes, and I can answer it that way, but there isn't a real application "messages" and "e-mail" as you may have with a Samsung device.
I'm trying to look for it.
That's OK. I mean, you can answer mail, SMS, chat (hangout, whatsapp) notifications using s voice.
But you can't read old sma, mails, chats, etc right?
I use android wear and apart from hangout where you have a dedicated app it's the same. That's OK for me.
I just need to be able to use voice to text to answer current notifications.
Anyone with a mate 9 can confirm it?
