Simple tool as name suggest to activate Air command with shortcut. You can press on app icon to open air command without using Spen. Also you can set application for Long pressing/Double pressing home to launch air command with ROM control - keymap to launch air command with long /double pressing home.
Installation guide :
Requirements :
Rooted Note5 with 5.1.1 . Also should be work on other device with ported N5 ROM provided Air command is working with S-Pen.
- Download Air Command 1.1.apk (read below) and install as regular apk.
- Click installed app from drawer, It won't have any UI but just monitor notification.
- It will install some missing resources, Once it finished, notification will be removed and you may see a toast notification to reboot device. At this stage there may be FC and just ignore it.
- Reboot device and now you can use same app icon to launch Air Command.
- Floating air command icon will remain on screen, you can remove it by long pressing floating AC icon - drag it to bin.
Limitation : You can open smart select but still requires Spen to select area. (will look into it if possible to fix) Rest of function should work fine.

I have fixed floating icon setting issue and updated play store version(may take couple of hrs to reflect 1.2 on play store). I will update XDA version tonight/tomorrow.

Hi dr
Please help
In n920c can't edit text when selecting text with smart select
Sent from my SM-N920C using Tapatalk

No issue here. It's related to direct input and not with air command.

I'sorry if it's ot but In the Note 5 I lost this Note 4 feature: convert handwriting to text as @drketan 's screenshot
I dont find a solution.......

That screenshot is from Note5 only and no issue here.

@dr.ketan
I am going to ask a question, not sure if you can help or point me a right direction (I hope!)
Spen features are also, as you may know, on Note 10.1 (2014) and new device Galaxy TAB A SM-P550 and SM-P350.
I have SM-T350 version, which is identical device with SM-P350, but does not comes with SPen. So built ROM out of SM-P350 and flashed to my SM-T350, all good..however, there's no way to check and see if SPen is working, so thought let's use Air Command Shortcut, you probably already know, there are several different versions of Air Command Shortcut app floating around in XDA in different threads, but I guess I installed one that actually installs on Lollipop (devices are 5.0.2). Anyway, when I run Air Command Shortcut, it says Unfortunately it stopped, and checking the catlog, I see following error message (see below).
I know that Samsung's Note phone devices SPen different than Tablet's SPen.
I know you are extremely busy, but thought maybe you can help...
All the best!

Hi dr.Ketan,
I got working all good, only thing I am having the issue it displays the Note 5 Air Command window but I can't click on any buttons. I think it only accepts clicks from the SPen?? since my device is not note device...I wonder where's the restriction comes from?

@dr.ketan can you update the v2 with a new package name for notes ? the new S note was unified on grace update and now it doent work with your command. and i managed to make it working on galaxy s6 edge all features

@dr.ketan
Will there be development for marshmallow ?
Thank you

Anyone knows about any such app for Marshmallow roms?

can it works for nougat rom?

[App] AppWidgetPicker

Hi there,
I published it a few weeks ago via twitter but I think I should post it here to:
I have written an App to replace the stock AppWidgetPicker. (you know long press on the homescreen -> add -> widget) which groups the widgets by packages.
So if you have a widget installed that has 3 different sizes, there is only one entry in the list and if you click it you can pick the size in a second dialog.
The main problem is that it needs to be installed on /system cause android will not grand the needed permission to any app installed on /data.
The APK is attached
The source can be found here
Its all released under Apache 2.0 license.
Hope you like it.
Instructions:
* Download the attached APK file
* Rename it to "AppWidgetPicker.apk"
* copy it to /system/app
* make sure it has the same file permissions as the other files in that directory
* maybe reboot.
* Don't install it just copy it!
Other Information:
* Doesn't work with HTC-Sense but should work with all "Stock-Based" Launchers like Launcher PRO, ADW, Zeam etc. pp.

hi,
I needed to remove anything in / system in order yo use your application?
e.g. the original appwidgetpicker?
agree
no.
I've set the priority of my app higher then the original one...
simply copy the apk to /system/app that should be all
/system/ data or / system/ app ?
sorry /system/app corrected my last post...
first thinking then writing...
any hope for an eclair version? Excellent idea.
This is actually very nice.
A few questions though, I noticed it's not using the same window as the stock one, any chance you can make it use the stock window graphics? I ask because I theme my ROM and the window doesn't match the regular one 100%.
Also, the sorting of the widgets is different as well. For instance, the stock sorting puts my 3 "cubed" player on top of the list while with yours it's at the bottom of the list. Can it be made to sort the widgets like the stock one?
Other than those two things, it's actually perfect. I love this.
Hi,
I was trying to make this on look like the stock once but I failed... If someone with some more Android GUI knowlede might have a look it would be nice...
Sorting is different? Shouldn't be but I have a look!
For the eclair version: If I have someone to test this stuff I'll try to
-- boombuler
Edit:
Uploaded eclair version in first post... please test this

Info from your LogCat:
User 10093 does not have android.permission.BIND_APPWIDGET.
Have you installed the App to /system/app ??
Cause android didn't grant you the needed permission!
eclair or froyo?
Regards

Edit:
After inspecting the whole log:
You have installed the APK (which causes it to be installed to /data/app)
just copy it to /system/app instead of installing it... That should do the trick (uninstall it first )
Yea man, it works, sorry for that man, i just copy the apk for /system/app restart the phone and its works, i use Eclair version.
thx man, cheers.
Works on epic
all I did was installed it like a regular app because the epic don't have that app.

Hi,
have you uninstalled the old version first?
Looks kind of weird that he searches for the file:
/system/app/com.boombuler.system.appwidgetpicker-1.apk
please try this:
1) delete apk from /system/app
2) uninstall from system (if still present)
3) remove any "com.boombuler.system*" file from /data/dalvik-cache
4) look if it uses the old dialog
5) if 4 was positive copy the apk to /system/app without installing anything

Yes, installed it last night (W8s 2GB/32GB running on ...1.0.2. ROM). Until now all runs smooth. A big thank you krattos! Good work. :highfive:
It's there a chance to have this nice Rom Multilanguage (Italian)?

On needrom there is an update of stock firmware ofw8s.
So if you are porting for Multilanguage please use the update as base.
Btw I suggest to you to post your Rom in needrom before that someone make it and maybe gets donations for it...
Thanks for this rom.
First because it is 4.2.2 and not 4.2.1 which has an ugly bug: it spamming the Logcat as crazy. Official rom is stil with 4.2.1
Next: at Developer it is a very nice feature.
Show Layout bounds. It help at UI developing.
I don't know how to use this attachments properly: I have uploaded png files not automatically they are converted to a miserable jpg file...
The important Xperia part it would be this Stamina settings - for me -
[img=http://s24.postimg.org/70w1k7e1t/Stamina.jpg]
it seems has an error, not sure, if is really working!!!

Watch out: Max memory runtime for apps is 128MB.
I am not so happy as it would be ... 512mb, since we have 2GB...
FHD display a few background settings a few other cache images and the app can run out of memory.
Ok seems that krattos abandoned this Rom.

will need one more thing, this device (as all other mediacrap devices) haves a set of modifications to it´s dalvik / framework, these modifications are intended to block dissasembling of the *dex files. in order to bypass that i will need you to the following(it dosen´t require root, however it requires adb and a connection to the pc)
Download this zip:
http://d-h.st/XqG7
extract it to the adb folder, and connect the phone to the pc(with adb already setup on both, phone and pc)
run get_inline.bat(you can right click it -> edit to see the commands if you have any doubts)
after that upload both inline.txt(will be generated by get_inline.bat) and libdvm.so (this one is found at /system/lib) and post the link
or else i can´t decompile it:

Android is starting/Optimising app issue

Hello I am having an issue with my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and wanted to find out if anyone had any advice. Every time I restart the phone I am met with this screen
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It always boots up without further issues but it takes about 15 to 20 minutes for my phone to get passed this screen, which is quite frustrating. Is there any way that I can fix this issue without having to boot into the bootloader and wiping all the data from the phone or is this the only way that I can get rid of this issue.
Thank you in advance
James.

You keep getting that persistent message because the amount of cache files that is present in your phone. Including cache files are unwanted remnants after deleting multiple apps.
Download an app called SD Maid and:
1) Clean your junk files/cache and any other files you consider unwanted
2) Optimize your databases
3) Delete bloatware (If rooted)
4) And plenty of other things the app has to offer.
If that does not work, try doing this https://www.unlockunit.com/blog/how-to-get-rid-of-android-optimizing-apps/
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help, I have used SD Maid and it still brings me to the android is starting screen. I don't know if it could have something to do with the fact that I tried and failed at rooting the device which caused some kind of error, I cant remember what it said now. I'll take a look at the link to see if that helps. Thank you.

Boot to recovery and wipe the cache partition.
If that doesn't work, boot to recovery and factory reset(do not use factory reset in system settings, do it in recovery).

This is a bug in dexopt. Sometimes it crashes, not being able to produce the optimized oat file. This causes PackageManager to invoke it again and again on each boot.
For me it happened with the Google Photos app.
To find out for sure, follow these steps:
1. Enable Developer options. Enable USB debugging in Developer options.
2. Install ADB and phone USB drivers.
3. Connect phone to PC, run adb logcat, permanently authorize the PC on the phone. Make sure "adb logcat" succeeds and you can see the logs.
4. Restart the phone.
5. Run adb logcat > log.txt while the phone is booting, wait for the boot to finish.
6. Open log.txt and look for lines containing PackageManager.DexOptimizer. For example:
Code:
03-18 11:24:40.685 4448 4448 I PackageManager.DexOptimizer: Running dexopt (dex2oat) on: /data/app/com.google.android.apps.photos-1/base.apk pkg=com.google.android.apps.photos isa=arm vmSafeMode=false debuggable=false oatDir = /data/app/com.google.android.apps.photos-1/oat bootComplete=false
03-18 11:24:54.555 4921 4928 W dex2oat : No verified method for method calling String.<init>: java.lang.String android.text.TextUtils.substring(java.lang.CharSequence, int, int)

03-18 11:24:55.490 3298 3298 F DEBUG : #00 pc 0020f4be /system/lib/libart-compiler.so (_ZN3art8MIRGraph27ComputeTopologicalSortOrderEv+717)

7. Delete/disable the mentioned app(s) in Settings > Apps (reinstalling the app won't help, it's a bug in the ROM).
If your log.txt does not start with "---- beginning of main", increase Buffer size for logging in Developer options from 256KB to 1MB and repeat.

Bugged/Broken Fingerprint setting?

Global Mi Note 10, I had an issue where I had to Miflash my phone back to life and now the fingerprint option in settings won't open, It'll go to the black screen where it gives you the warning, then it just kicks back to the settings menu. I've tried TWRP flashing Xiaomi.EU and OTA builds but nothing is bringing the option back, any suggestions?
Edit: Seems to be an issue with either the fingerprint service or library
I had same experience. I escaped from there by wipe cache and flashing Global stable rom with MiFlash.

I tried that and unfortunately didn't help
I had the same problem, I Format, Not wiped the memory in twrp and then I flashed EEA Stable Rom via twrp. That solved the issue.

Before flashing a Rom you have to Format the Phone in twrp by typing yes. After Format Flash the Rom. When you press wipe in twrp, you have the Option Just to Format Not to wipe, so Just Use this Option. I flashed after Format the official 11.0.16 EEA Rom.
I recorded in this gif the issue, as soon as the fingerprint loads it immediately crashes, happens on every ROM. Fingerprint sensor passes in CIT but can't input anything into it.

Likewise. I've been tinkering around but to no avail
So doing a bit of research, it's a problem with the Persist partition? I'm not sure how true that is, I've wiped Persist and used the img file from the latest global fastboot ROM. Still no dice.
