[Q] Enter root as SD card from PC

Hi,
Some files from my efs folder were deleted (which resulted in corrupt imei, but thats another story) and I found a program that can restore deleted files from flash storage.
But the problem is that it sees only storage cards. (It sees the phone's storage if I mount it)
Is there a way to somehow mount the root of the device as a storage device? (I have the drivers of the device so I can access its root through adb or "android commander" but not through this program)
Sent from my imei messed up (half bricked)Nexus S using XDA App
Any help here?
I don't think so. Before you can mount the sd card on the computer, you have to unmount it on the phone. So in order to mount root on the computer, you might first have to first unmount root on the phone (not sure about this). I can imagine your phone having a small problem with this.
Could you copy the contents of root to the sd card (maybe in fastboot or recovery), and let the program work on the files there?

Strange internal storage issue - need some advice

I am encountering an issue, for which I have been researching all day with no resolve. Galaxy Note 3.
The issue is that I cannot copy or move files INTO the internal memory.
With Root Explorer, I can read/write/edit files in /system (which verifies root), I can even create a directory, delete directory, or rename in /sdcard, I just cannot copy or move files into /sdcard.
When I connect the phone to a computer, I *can* move files from external SD into "phone" (internal storage/sdcard).
Oddly, Root Browser *can* copy files from ext-sd to int-sd (Root Browser seems to invoke SU just to copy files from ext-sd into /sdcard).
Root Explorer, FX, ES cannot. They all have root privileges and have been uninstalled/reinstalled.
I have other phones with exact same configs, but never had this problem.
Any idea on the cause?

Can you move your apps to SD card???
you can try backing up your SD card data to your pc and formatting it in Fat32..
I am having the same issue! It apparently happened after i did a nandroid restore to stock from CM11. I realized this when certain apps stopped working such as GTA San Andreas (could not save game anymore), and Torrent downloaders (Could not save .torrent files to hpone anymore errors). I dont understand what the issue maybe? does CM11 corrupt Internal storage? im formatting both internal storage and reinstalling my rom to see what happens. hopefully this fixes the problem!
EDIT: Looks like that solved the issue! Im not sure though if me formatting the internal storage helped or reinstalling the whole rom helped. Hope this helps others!

Transfer Nandroid backup

Hey everybody,
I recently unlocked my bootloader, booted TWRP-r4 and made a Nandroid backup. It took about 3GB of space.
I have not rooted my phone yet. The path for the backup:
/data/media/0/TWRP/BACKUPS/ZY2232MQCL/backup stock 5.1.1 februari 3th/
Now, I would like to transfer the backup folder to my PC so I can put it in Google Drive. However, using ES File Explorer I can't seem to acces the TWRP folder: "/sdcard/TWRP/ not found"
Using my PC the TWRP folder is empty. I can navigate to the folder in TWRP file manager. Moving the folder using TWRP file manager doesn't fail, but both ES File Explorer and my PC can't seem to acces the TWRP folder.
Do I have to root my phone first in order to transfer the backup?
I don't have an external SD card at the moment. Would it make a difference trying to make a Nandroid backup to an external SD card?

I had the exact same problem. To make matters worse, if you want to make another back up, it contains your original backup which makes your new backup twice as big as the original backup.
I ended up rooting, changing the the folder/file attributes using root explorer. I now use the SD card for TWRP back ups. Interestingly back ups to SD Card do not have the same files permissions as the internal storage. I am interested if there is a non root solution.
Don't use ''enable compression" i had that problem too this fixed it hope it works for you guys
UPDATE:
I bought an external SD card (16GB SanDisk) and inserted it my phone. In TWRP, I went to Advanced -> File Manager, then navigated to the backup location of my already-existing backup in the internal memory, selected the folder and deleted it. Rebooted and made a backup in TWRP but now on the external SD card. I can now navigate to the backup folder on both my PC and in ES File Explorer, without rooting! So there you have it, a non root solution to transfering your backups to your PC using an ext. SD card.

PS: I didn't use compression.

I wouldn't say a non-root solution. It was starting over again as you never gained access yo your original backup.

I was able to transfer the backup to my PC without rooting my phone. However, only when using a SD card to store my backup. You cannot transfer your backup to your PC from your internal memory.
I hope I've clarified myself.

You can transfer your backup to your PC with root and using some sort of root explorer/file manger.
I also saw methods using ADB to transfer your backup to your PC, but it was not clear if root was required using the ADB method.
Please help me to get twrp backup official moto xt1550
I had the backup by mistakenly formated SD card.

SD Card files access troubles

Hi guys, I dunno if I am only that dumb but I can't copy files from SD to Internal Storage (and as well from IS to SD). I am using FX File Explorer, OI File Manager, Total Commander but none of them works. When I press "Enable Write Access" at FX I always get back to choose SD card root. Anybody could help please? Thank you
Edit: SD card was encrypted. I had to decrypt it and make Factory reset (without FR it was still impossible to "Enable Write Access"). So same bug as at XZ with 7.1.1. Well done Sony again.

Empty internal Storage

Hi guys, I have this problem when I access file manager all I got is "no files", just blank space. But I can access all my files via PC, it seems my internal storage is hidden or I messed it up. during flashing a zip file in TWRP.
Any idea how to fix this?

Transfer all your files from internal storage to the computer and then use adb to rm -rf /mnt/sdcard
