Is there a way to downgrade baseband versions like from G920FXXU3 to G920FXXU2?
Because im having this error when flashing through ODIN "sw rev check fail system 3 binary 2". Im not sure if it is really the cause. Thanks a lot for any help.

Just take the latest version of Odin.
There are still plenty of good modems.

Hi XDA Members,
I have a very curious problem and hope somebody has an idea what could be wrong.
I have a stock phone that has been updated by a friend to 7.0 but now he wants to go back.
I have flashed a one part stock rom with Odin with complete sucess but after reboot (even showing the erasing process)
the phone boots up and 7.0 is still there and even all the apps and data are still available.
So I tried a 4part stock rom and to my surprise the same thing happened. Odin finished with sucess, phone reboots now it
even installs the bloatware apps and yet it is still running 7.0
I am loosing my mind here. Do I need to flash a pit file? Do I need to root before I flash? What am I doing wrong or will I be stuck with 7.0 forever now?
kind regards
Piko

You need flash rom which starts with G920FXXU5D or G920FXXS5D if you want to downgrade to 6.0.1
Btw, you don't have to flash 4 part rom.

I have just flashed the G920FXXU5DQA7_G920FDBT5DQA3_G920FXXU5DPL3_HOME.tar.md5 but now if
I start the phone it says "SYSTEM UI STOPPED" when I hit ok - it just says this again and again. Guess this was the wrong
rom once again? I just hope I did not brick the phone yet. Should I flash it again with another ROM? Could you maybe point me to the correct rom I need to download?
many thanks in advance

And is there anything good I can do for you to say thank you for helping me out this much? Seriously you helped me soo much.

My main reason is that they changed some core things. I now cannot stream anything from the phone (screen capture) without root. Also some oculus apps just keep crashing all the time.

Hello I have had the same type of trouble only with mine is >/
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 from Walmart. It's the Straight talk variant SM-S903VLUDU4APH3. MY phone came with 6.0.1 Mm. I flashed the stock rom 4.4.4 kk using Odin3 V.3.10.6 but upon completion of a successful flash the phone does the reboot process but boots into factory recovery and says installing system update. The says erasing then reboots to where I started from same rom, it's like it allows the phone to get the update but then reboots and does a factory reset.

hi all
i got a samsung s8+ with G955FXXU2CRED_CL13569719 firmware on it.
How can i downgrade it to android 7.0?
If i flash 7.0 software i got failed when i flash BL
If i only flash AP the device shows encryption failed and then then i get boot loop with erasing android icon.
Hope some one has a solution here.
u can try downgrade to CRAP firmware (the 1st Oreo) and then try to downgrade to android 7.0 with all files.
I downgraded from 3 previous versiones of Oreo, didnt try agaik with the later ones but i read that the new boatloader in kinda tricky now.

Remove/change PDA reg?! Erase data?! (CSC issue)
Is this rom Nougat or prev Oreo version?!
Some info about this rom?! It comes from some forum's discussion?!
Odin flash works fine but then am on what seems to be bootloop...am stuck on screen with "FACTORY BINARY" message showing and big progress arrows now for 20 minutes...is that normal to take so long?

Hello! I was trying to figure out if there was a way to remove the bloatware from this phone, without a root. I might not be able to since my build number is G930VVRSBCTC1, which is the B bootloader. If there is, or you need more info, please notify me. Thank you

The issue with the B bootloader has to do with rooting, not with flashing unbranded firmware through Odin. You just need the correct U firmware and Odin.
You might also need the patched Odin, I can't recall which models require it but some do for flashing from carrier to non-carrier software. Try normal Odin first and if it gives a mismatch error then use patched Odin.

Well, how would I know which version of the U firmware I would need? Does it need to match my bootloader version?
I'm trying to do the opposite. I have a Verizon S7 that I long ago flashed to the 930U firmware. Now it's being sold, and it will need the 930V firmware. But all of my attempts to flash back to Verizon has failed miserably on every version of Odin I've tried. Not sure where to go next.
To add, I keep getting FAIL! (Auth) errors no matter what I do. I've tried different PCs. Different firmware. Different cables. Nothing.
Some of the firmwares are at different bootloader levels, so if the G930V firmware you're trying to flash is an older bootloader it'll fail. Try flashing everything but BL.
If that doesn't work also try patched Odin as it can bypass some fail messages https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572

I know that the device is recent, but devices with very similar hardware like M31, A51 and M30s already have a lot of development, while the F41 does not start with twrp, thanks to vbmeta. the community of this device needs help and a little attention, I ask the developers to focus on this device, it will be of great help ^^

I have flashed M31 Stock rom on my F41 it worked but I was still unable to Flash TWRP "Only Official Released Binaries Are Allowed To Be Flashed(recovery)" this is error that popped up. This could be because of that I have flashed latest M31 firmware but whatever might be case I am unable to downgrade the firmware or even flash the original rom of F41 "SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 2, BINARY: 1" this error comes on my phone. Can you explain me what is this problem and why is it occuring. And how can I flash my original stock rom of F41 back.

This is due to the bootloader. Try extracting the firmware you are flashing and delete all files ending with ".bin"
