OK I've googled this a few times and I've asked in threads only to be ignored so hopefully I can get an answer here.
In the hidden menu on Android 6.0 on the bottom of the screen there is a new option called FDT settings I simply would like to know what is FDT and why does it ask for a password when trying to check status. Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about:
See here
When u click on "FDT ready" the password prompt pops up

What's up @dottat no I don't think it's a conspiracy at all I just think if no one knows why not someone say something (as u did). No one likes being ignored.
OK well someone has gotta know right? How would I go about locating this file, setting, whatever it is through adb?

Color me puzzled...
I turn up a few links when searching but nobody seems to know what FDT regulation is. I seem some reference to FDT as "flight and duty time" regulation in Italy. That is likely not related.
Spoke too soon! Perhaps this helps (not really but at least you can see the acronym.

I didn't see any mention of default passwords in any of the literature I saw. Anyhow it's probably OEM specific and that website was no OEM specific.

but if you had read the link, fdt is a program for testing apps that are being developed,
this setting is listed in their documentation. This probably is only to allow the device to receive apps and to connect to the fdt program.
Its not something containing hidden gold for your device, but properties for a application builder you dont own / have access to.
Possible answer
I found a page on mobile app designing/programming I believe. That's best I could come up with. Hope it helps!! I'm not allowed to post outside links, new user, but searching power.flash might help

I am planning on an update to that guide soon, now that I have my phone back. I think it may be safer to use a renaming method for the param.lfs image. That way you aren't copy/pasting a huge image file into the image manually.

Yeah. I tried it on IE & Firefox to make sure it wasn't a browser specific issue. If you click on the Advanced Search button near the OS/Manufacturer search bar, you get an error stating: Searching has been disabled.
There's also a thread about it in the XDA General Discussion areas.

Yesterday the entire site was almost impossible to use. Didnt matter if you used a pc the app or tried to direct link via implants. I was met with errors and timeouts to the point I just gave up trying to read anything posted anywhere on xda.
I went ahead and took the liberty of registering and jumping through the hoops (which took much longer than it should have really) to get the Lg SmartWorld App. Its got some exclusive LG apps and themes. So for any of you who were curious, here it is ( you can make an account in the app in order to download things, this is faster than their web server which seems to be plugged in a 256k dialup modem ;P)
To Install: Just Put it on your internal storage and then use a file browser to click it and just hit install. no need to move it around manually with root explorer.

Thats really odd. You dont suppose that they have the app locked to a users ID do you? Or maybe the service is down? If the former is true Ill have to tweak the OP. Keep trying and let me know.

Got it to work, thanks.

Logged into my LG account on lgworld.com just fine. Still saying service is unavailable in the app though. I tied clearing data in the app as well as deleting and re-installing. I'm on VZW version of that means anything. I'm also running CLEANROM on my phone.

Check it now, it works.
I just wanted to bump this to let everyone know that it's good now.
Unless there has been more developments, I am hoping to get some nice themes from LG World.
But of course, once I download the themes, Apply button is grayed out.. So the whole thing goes to waste.. I guess we cannot apply themes on D800..
package still works, but... as soon as you open it, you need to update it. After the update, the only country selection available (for me anyway) was Mexico. So it works, but the whole app is in Spanish. I managed to go to the LG website and create an account. Use the LG Portal, which is where you can register any of your LG products, not the smartworld page. I registered there, then went to the app, where you have to verify your email address. I do not know a word of Spanish and managed to work my way thru it. Was able to verify, then the app opened (still in Spanish) and I was able to download and install themes on my ATT D950 (Flex) with no problems. I did it this way because the LG website says my Flex isn't supported yet, and wouldn't download the app legitimately. Dont know if it was worth the hassle, but I did it

You can apply themes, AT&T turned it off, enable it in LGHome hidden settings.
Most of the themes on appworld are kiddy/girly themes though.
If you go to Korean version of the site you can get the theme creator, to make your own themes, an English translation patch for it is on XDA.
Thank you soooo much!!!!!

Take a look over the rules. Using the work of others without permission is against the rules. IF you remake it with the same coding you are still using their work. Now DG pops in from time to time but doesnt spend alot of time on XDA. If he sees it he will respond. Until then I would look at other options.

Also, run 'adb logcat -c', then reboot the device. after booting, post/attach the entire log, maybe there's some throttling in there.
Can you try running some benchmarks against the cpu and the nand? Perhaps we could compare to our devices, not many comparisons would be needed ofc, but maybe just give us an idea if there's really something wrong with the hardware - if the values obtained on the benchs are too different.

ARGH, of course I know what a toolkit is.
"I only know this -> factory img link" means I'll will only support people who DO flash stuff *MANUALLY*. That's why I asked for the terminal output of the flashing process, done *MANUALLY*. In part cos I don't believe the user, and in part cos I don't trust the toolkit to not just throw a "Unknown error ocurred" msg if something fails in the flashing process.

Thanks but it didn't work.
Are you like completely 100% sure there are no spaces? I was freaking out this morning but after I looked and looked I found one. Try pasting your key into wordpad and searching for spaces using the find replace function just to be sure.
Many times the space is on the end and you don't notice it.

You need to make sure no space and all the (bootloader) has to remove. I tried quite a lot of times to get it unlock. You can't just copy from the cmd and paste, it include tonnes of space in between

That's how google keep copied it and I pasted.I input the code without spaces. Your code didn't work. Once I get home I'll run fastboot again and re-copy code.
You need to remove the space even if you copy from the post. It always somehow insert space in between. Copy the code into note pad, remove the space first then copy to the unlock page that should work

So I finally got it, must have had a wrong digit BUT when I agree to terms and conditions, a new page opens, but its blank. I refresh and nothing. So how the hell am I supposed to get said Bootloader Unlock emailed to me.
Called Motorola Level 3 again, apparently the Bootloader guru isn't in until 2:30 EST. So they are supposed to call me...
