Hi there,
just bought the device and I'm not sure because of teh missing SD card, how to handle my "best practises" for Samsung devices. Originally I stored music, videos, Whatsapp media, Titanium backups and so on on my external memory card. But this option is now gone. Is there any way to create a new partition as external sd card wich is recognized by apps and is not affected by hard resets (which is mostly necessary for custom rom updates) ? I don't want to get in a copy nightmare for every ROM update which requires a full wipe. Is tehre any solution? I can't be the only one who is thinking about this issue.
Thx in advance!
You should get a USB OTG device, it is what I use and it is easier than connecting the cable to your computer. Instead you can connect your normal usb into the computer and transfer files then connect it to your phone.
If you are worried backup your phone externally like normal

My phone is telling me that my storage card is full (it’s not) and I’ve lost my ‘program files’ folder, all of my music and the folder with the naked pictures of my ex-girlfriends in………. Damn
I’ve read lots of threads about storage card recovery, but I haven’t found an application that can run from the actual phone itself (I have a Kaiser).
I can’t find my card reader, so can’t connect it direct to my PC!
Anyone got any suggestions?? Freeware is always a bonus
Thanks in advance
never heard about a ppc undelete tool but card readers are dirt cheap
may even work if you put the pda in disk mode and connect it over usb to the pc

PDA in disk mode is new to me? Could you explain how please?? Or alternatively perhaps a program that can work via activesync??
Had a similar issue reecently, all the folders on my card were given random names made up of weird characters. Even connecting to the PC didn't help, still silly names.
I thought, OK, nothing to lose and i soft reset my trinity, hey presto everything came back. Don't ask what had happened i don't know.

I have extra folders with letters and characters (perhaps renamed) but alas, soft reset does nothing......
well, usb to pc mode can be done using Softick Cardexport or WM5torage, but you HAVE to copy the installation files to your DEVICE or it will physically overwrite storage card data. take out your storage card, connect your device and move the installation file to your device, install the program and insert the card, then connect in Removable Storage mode and use Active Recovery 7 to recover your storage card's files.

Great stuff, thank you very much.
I'm on the case now.
I have an HTC Diamond and have also purchased Spb Backup.
I would like to Backup my Internal Storage from my Diamond to my pc but
have not been able to figure out how to do this.
I have been able to backup all the other files that are on my Diamond, to my Diamond in addition to my pc.
I have done restores from my Diamond to my Diamond.
I also have my Pim backed up at least 3 different ways
I would like to Backup my Internal Storage >
1) In case I lose my Diamond or it becomes unusable such as in the case of screen failure, etc.
2) If I have to restore ALL Data including Internal Storage to another Diamond.
Thanks for any ideas that include Spb Backup or whether I can backup Internal Storage a different way.
I have a few programs in Internal Storage and would like to avoid having to manually input them onto a second device.
I've got a backup of the Internal Storage of my Diamond just by selecting "Disk Drive" when connecting via usb cable and copying the entire contents to a folder on my hard drive. Surely thats the easiest way??

I never tried that, but if that is one way to do it, I will try it.
I have never chosen Disk Drive when connecting via usb.
I have used ActiveSync often and have always seen the contents of Diamond including Internal Storage, but I have never copied the files.
My oversight.
I have read that choosing the "Disk Drive" setting is a faster way to transfer the files, compared to "ActiveSync,"
but both settings achieve the same thing.
Thank you.
Good, you have to forgive my ignorance but is that after several minutes did not find what I'm going to ask:
Windowsph7 exists in a file browser to enter the memory card?
As I can copy music files to your ?
The USB connection allows me to connect to your board and explore ?
All this I ask because when I connect the phone to the pc does not show anything like the memory card.
Thanks

WP7 isn't meant to be able to use the memory card as an external drive. It is solely used for the system. Think of the card as WP7's internal memory where the OS is stored. That's a bit simplistic, but you'll get the picture. The memory card isn't meant to be removed either. If you remove it, you will screw up the system. In simple words, WP7 doesn't have expandable memory. Forget the card. Forget all about it. You can't use it like a device that has a card slot for removing and so forth.
The question was not exactly that, it must be my English is very bad I want to copy some songs I have on my harddrive, you can not copy directly from the cable "?
No yu have to connect and sync through Zune, works well that way.

No, like the iPhone and iTunes software/hardware management, WP7 uses Zune to copy anything compatible to the device. And you can't select where on the device to copy it to. Meaning, you can't choose to copy anything to the card.
Perfect I've installed, all very well, now the problem is that I said that no device is connected, tells me to restart the device I have connected and reconnected, I've done it several times but still not working. Has this happened to someone "?
Thank you very much, you are a expert, I used my Windows Mobile 6.5
when you connect your phone via cable to the pc does it make that sound to show that a device has been connected?
if not, try other usb ports. it should come up in the notification area (aka system tray) that a device can be unplugged.
No, I have this problem ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-816935.html
But this does not resolve what you put in the Microsoft article, I tried it on two PCs but does not work, can not connect. Someone has solved another way "?
Good Evening, I have this rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2295030)
installed on my phone works 100% ...
However I did something stupid this week, my phone was no memory card in the PC and connected it to move some files to the usb storage, however at the same time I was messing with a stick and need to format it by mistake ended up formatting the storage USB.
Now every time I disconnect appears "damaged card, you may need to remove" and neither to using the SD, put this warning is for internal storage, however I thought of formatting options in android, tab settings> storage, however this rom does not have the option to format and much less "mount" the internal storage.
So I'm without, thus prevented from taking pictures, listening to music internal storage ...
I wonder if you have any way to fix this?
Note: Connected PC normally recognizes the USB storage.
So everything was working fine. I have Note 2 N7100 with Philz CWM, Agni kernel and stock recovery with Xposed framework.
I didn't do any changes to phone that would require root access. I tapped reboot from the advanced power menu, plugged in the adapter/charger and left it that way. (I use a blackberry micro usb to usb since it's sturdy AND MY samsung cable is damaged). Have the default samsung adapter though.
After like an hour or so, the phone didn't start, like nothing worked. I gave it for servicing and the guy told it's mobo is damaged and replacing it will replace all the data as the internal storage is integrated.
I didn't have any backup as my SD card was corrupt and my phone always had issues transferring files over USB to pc as it always disconnected and became such a drag.
I really want my data back, I had a few things synced like camera pictures and basic samsung/google account, and I can always download media files again, but I had many important files on the internal storage which I didn't back up. So is there a possible way to solder the storage chip on a new motherboard or possibly extract the data .
