Change DPI on rooted R7plusf - Oppo R7 Plus

So I've got an international version of the R7plus, the F version.
Eventually got it rooted earlier, got it to fastboot, unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP and installed SuperSU.
Anyway now that I have it rooted I want to change the DPI as the size of the bars and text everywhere is ridiculously big.
So I've tried texdroider_DPI and le DPi changer but both are not working even with root. They both worked on my oneplus one. I definitely have root and have granted then both access to root so they should work.
Any ideas?

So I figured it out a few minutes after posting here after hours of searching on the internet
When I installed texdroider it had XXX for the current DPI. I tried to change it and reboot and nothing happened. I then tried Le DPI and it said the DPI was 500(or 400, can't remember). Tried 380 in the mode that doesn't edit the build.prop, again it didn't work. Tried the edit the build.prop didn't work, so gave up but after a reboot I went back to texdroider and now it was showing me the current DPI. Changed to 380 and rebooted and it worked!!
I think what happened was after the install of texdroider I needed a reboot for it to find the current DPI then it was able to change it.
FYI I'm on R7plusfEX_11_151111

That's funny. Yesterday I rooted my phone and I have the exact same problem. Way too big text/bars/everything in most apps.
Usually the dpi value can be found in
/system/build.prop, but it is not there!
I guess that's the reason texdroider initially had a problem.
I have same build by the way. 480 is stock dpi.
Edit:
Using a simple command in root terminal gave me 380 dpi (with mixed results, not everything is correctly scaled).
Code:
wm density 380 && reboot

First unlock bootloader from PC:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
For root on ColorOS:
Download the latest twrp https://twrp.me/Devices/
Flash it from your PC:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.xxxx-DeviceName.img
Download SuperSU
http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu-stable
Flash it with twrp.
For root on custom ROM:
Flash twrp from PC.
Flash ROM from twrp.
Enable developer options.
Enable root.
That's all. For details on flashing, there are many guides here and in Oppo forum.

I managed to root and have google apps on the last update of oppo r7 plusm thanks to oppotools 1.6.5, but be careful, any other previous oppotools will brick your phone (like many experienced in the forum) with the last updates of oppo roms since they try to prevent rooting and installing google market. So make sure to use version 1.6.5 from the link below
drive.google.com/file/d/0B-aJHtkQl-HNT2E3RnNzb1o4dU0/view
with this tool, first root your phone than restart and use the same tool to activate google apps. No computer needed.
Super SU is working fine after the procedure.
Still have not received thid update ..
Sent from my R7plusf using Tapatalk
NO ROOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS UPDATE. R7plusfEX_11_OTA_012_all_201512251816 DOWNLOAD HERE

How to Root the updated Nougat

Greetings
Have problem rooting updated nougat for FRD-L09* 360
Have installed twrp 3.0.3 and patch the chainfire's latest root - su files or phh, but still no way to get it rooted.
Feedback if any1 else have the same symptoms and solution.
Thanks.
Regards.
Hi @StratOS_HTC
Nice to see you again (coming from the Core 2)
I have the B380 and rooted it with this prerooted image:
forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/twrp-t3566563/post71274057
Try it with that prerooted boot-image. If it doesn't work try this older prerooted boot-image:
forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/twrp-t3566563/post71272109
Regards,

pHH's changed boot img and app works flawless ROOT
While CF's changed boot.img cause bootloops / system loops.
While changing the fastboot.img got bricked my phone - Were unable to turn it on, no USB connections possible, donno how the TWRP recovery accidently turned on ... No clue about it.
Got it back.
Need some feedback about CF's root. any1 has sent him a boot img's ?
Looking forward for cf's SU for HONOR ...
Is prerooted really the only way to go? I installed B380 today and thought there was a way to root with SuperSU. Must have misunderstood since the Emui5 version of SuperSU doesnt work for me. It installs just fine but then the app says "no binaries installled"..
It's not the pre-rooted, it's only modified boot image with changed security and other init stuff that the root app can use it.
PHH's is working great, CF's will go on ...
Ok. Which of the two links above did you use?
Edit:
If someone else out there had the same question, I followed the first link and downloaded the rooted boot img provided by @Atarii.
I was on B380, unlocked with TWRP 3.0.3 and flashed the rooted_b378_boot.img via adb. Worked like a charm. Then rooted with phhs superuser from Play store.
Stratos how do i check if my phone is model l09 or something else? My Honor 8 is dual sim that means its the version L19?
Do you know any way to install a working twrp + root l19 on nougat?

can't root S7 (SM-G930F) in system mode.

Hello XDA !
This is my first post..sorry for my bad english.
I bought a S7 (SM-G930F) Android 8.0 and i rooted it then i noticed that was just systemless root.. and it's totally useless for me because i want to uninstall system apps and change build.prop..
so I flashed the stock rom and reflashed TWRP, then I executed a command to force SuperSU to install in system
(echo SYSTEMLESS=false>>/data/.SuperSU)
and I installed SuperSU.zip..but it stucks on bootloop.. I tried many different SuperSU.zip versions even a modified version for system mode root, but nothing works..
by the way I installed no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1.zip before installing SuperSU.zip !

i havent rooted an S7 in a while, but dont you just flash twrp in Odin with the reboot box unchecked and once the flash completes, reboot into twrp which will present you a slider that says something along the lines of "slide to allower SU access" or something like that. Once youve done that, then you flash magisk in TWRP, boot, install busybox, and you should then be asked if you want to grant SU access to busybox, if it does that, youre all set

Thank you so much for your response !
I did everything in the correct way, i flashed twrp with reboot option disabled.. and i formated data then reboot to recovery and I installed no verity and after that i installed SuperSU and it's done successfully but it ended up with a bootloop..
also I tried to install a system mode supersu.zip and it freezes TWRP and stuck on "installing"
I think literally I can't do the system root.. so i did systemless root.

im well aware that TWRP is a custom recovery, i remember when it first launched and people were converting from CWM to TWRP. Anyways, if youve successfully installed twrp, try factory resetting the device and then booting. You should only need to flash magisk in TWRP and busy box in the OS once booted

Root S7/ S7 Edge & Unroot Easy (Updated: 02/09/2020)

This is an updated root and unroot method for the s7/s7 edge.
I updated the zip file with the latest eng boot
Uploaded the latest stock files
Credit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/root-s7-s7edge-oreo-nougat-t3819616
Use V10 Odin Files this will allow you to root the s7/s7 sdge on the latest firmware. (02/09/2020)
Directions:
This works for Oreo And Nougat Roms
As always there is a chance of bricking your phone
1. Download and extract S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root.zip
2. Reboot your phone to download mode
3. Inside the S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root folder you will find an Odin_Firmware folder. Use Odin and flash the Eng Boot Image for your
phone
4. Once phone is rebooted and connected to computer click on the cmd-here.exe and type root.bat in the command window and hit enter
5. Follow directions on the command window
6. You can only use system root on Oreo
7. Once root is done and root bat closes leave your phone alone for a few minutes it may reboot a couple of times
8. Sprint Users This should work for you as well just let me know if your phone reboots with eng boot.img installed like it did on nougat while try too run the root.bat. I may need to change some things
9. With this system root do not update su binary if in anyway you get something asking you to update binaries ignore it. You can also disable notifications about updating binaries. This will not affect su app
10. Don't flash any superuser zips in recovery that are not made by me
S7 Oreo Nougat Adb Advanced Root V13: https://archive.org/download/s7oreo...Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root_V13 (02-08-2020).zip
Return to stock:
Open odin
Reboot in download mode
Apply files
Plus in device
Flash to device

Thank you. Followed the straight forward steps and got mine done perfectly on v10_BL. I even flashed stock and did it again just to be sure. I very much appreciate your work.

it says on the phone [boot]fused 11 > binary 10
Good work man..
Can you explain how to unroot because my phone is little bit lagging and I can't flash stock firmware because after flashing the stock firmware my phone will stuck on Samsung logo..
Sorry for my bad English.. ?
None of the odin files worked for G930PVPSBCTA1
I'm on version G930PVPSBCTA1 and none of the odin files would flash. Fails immediately when flashing. Am I doing something wrong?
dont work on 930p v11 booloader
Well that sucks. I highly doubt we'll see a root method then at this point. Thanks for replying.
eng boot v11
hello,
I'm trying to root g935u and see every tread stuck on v11 bootloader.
Seems it may help: h_t_tps:// support.halabtech.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&id=234247
I have no access or knowledge to use that alone.
I get the same error message as you on a Verizon version

Any TWRP recovery available for this phone?

Has anyone ran into the chance of seeing any custom recovery for this phone yet?
Unfortunately, I have no such experience
However, I successfully rooted the phone with Magisk

How did you do that since the current way is to rename the apk and flash in a custom recovery?
1 Unlock bootloader
2 get stock firmware from program, forgot the name is the recovery stuff for moto
3 extract boot l.img
4 install magisk app and click install in the app, choosing patch boot.img
5 open adb adb reboot fastboot fastboot flashing boot boot.img
Viola rooted. I don't see any twrp, roms or anything. Could try a different variant I know moto g stylus twrp is really moto g 8 pro, or something like that. I'd back up with the recovery program tho, it has saved me when messing with flashing roms. GL
I also got root albeit tricky since trying root on the MetroPCS version will make the screen lose all touch functionality.
What good is root on this phone with you can't do anything with Android 10 being Read Only. I've been reading up on that and even in custom recovery it still is Read Only. That's the problem. So yay we got root but can't modify anything in it.

Main reason for me to root would be to bypass Hotspot limit via MagiskHide Props Config, and Screen2Auto AA mod/hack to send all apps to Car Stereo.
Does this touchscreen bug affect the T-Mobile version of the Ace 5G? I haven't ordered one yet.
