Phone won't recognize att sim but will see cricket - Nokia Lumia 1020

I bought this lumia off someone and the phone works with his cricket sim card but will not work with my att sim. I tried to roll the phone back using the lumia recovery tool to Windows 8 and it still won't read my sim. I also updated to 8.1 and Windows 10 with the same result. I thought this was weird. Any suggestions?

J700P on Straight Talk?

I bought my dad a J700P about 6 months ago and planed to replace his existing phone with Straight Talk. I swore I found a guide that said this was possible back when I bought it but I'm not able to find any information about doing it now.
I have the latest TWRP recovery installed and its fully rooted. I bought a ST Nano Sim card and have that installed but its telling me invalid sim card. What do I need to do next?
Hardware Version:
J700P.03
Android Ver 6.0.1

Ok, I just discovered that for some reason I ended up with an AT&T sim card instead of one for Sprint. (Which I am assuming is what I need for this, originally on virgin mobile.) Not sure if that'll solve everything but figure I need to get that fixed first anyways.
Yeah if you can get a SPR SIM card it should be a plug 'n play deal.

Does T-Mobile OP8 5G Support Dual-Sim if on Global Firmware?

I was curious as a colleuge of mine recently purchased the OP8 5G from T-Mobile rather than directly from OnePlus. The sim tray only supports one SIM, and I am assuming that as it has been done historically on prior OP devices, the T-Mobile OP software only supports one sim card. I am unsure as to whether the T-Mobile variant has hardware to support two sims or not, but I think it may only a software issue. Would rooting and flashing to get onto the Global firmware enable dual-sim support for a OP8 5G T-Mobile variant?
Thank you,
I'd assume so. I'm planning on trying this myself when my dual sim slot comes in from Shenzhen.

What is the dual sim's use case for you? International travel or work/personal use?
I think in Asian countries, people often get 1 cheap SIM for cheap voice plan and another SIM for cheap data plan.

In my colleague's case, for work and personal use. I personally have my OP7 Pro as my work phone, and it is the unlocked non-carrier variant, so the dual sim support is there. However, for my use, too, I would like to have the capability available on my T-Mobile OP8 5G just as my colleague. I had him order a dual-sim tray from eBay, and from a US seller to get the item faster. If it works for him, I'll likely order the dual sim tray.
i dont think the global or eu roms support dual sim. there was a disclaimer under the network & sim settings untill ob1. not sure if ob1 supports dual sim yet
Dual sim works, however, i cant get my Verizon sim to work with t-mobile. I get the CDMA-less notification, i read that you can get it to work, you just got to call verizon to register your imei with them so dual sim can work. This is running open beta, stable 10.5.12 wouldnt see my second sim.
I havent called them because my verizon sim is through work.

And, this is on a T-Mobile OP8 5G? If so, I wonder if my colleague would have any issues running two T-Mobile SIMs on a global ROM? (I suspect the T-Mobile software doesn't even recognize a second SIM).

Yes, this is on my t-mobile OP8. I converted to global because I prefer global. I haven't tried two t mobile sim cards, and I haven't tried using t mobiles firmware.

So, after receiving the dual sim tray, and inserting two SIM's on T-Mobile's software--it does not even recognize the second SIM. What particular guide did you use to port over to the global firmware? Thanks!
I would also be really interested in knowing how to get the second SIM to read on the T-Mobile IN2017 variant of this phone. I've been tearing my hair out trying to get this to work, now that I've seen that the international models running Android 11 OB2 seem to have functional dual SIM. Personally, I kind of gave up on getting Android 10 to do dual SIM- even with the European ROM (which I'm fairly certain is the only way dual SIM on this device was ever officially supported by OnePlus), I haven't gotten it, but I think I'm annoyingly close. T-Mobile MSM to Global 10.5.12 to Android 11 DP2 will get you non-functional dual SIM- the device will see both SIM cards, and will properly identify them and their phone numbers, but the second SIM won't connect to voice or data, no matter what I do. If I upgrade the device from DP2 to OB2, the dual SIM UI stays (if I go directly from Global to OB2, it doesn't show), but the second SIM slot is still non-functional- no service for voice or data on the second SIM.
For anyone who has gotten a T-Mobile OP8 to properly read two SIM cards, I'd really like to know how- through my hours of messing around with this thing, it always seems like one step forward and two steps back. Hopefully the final release of Android 11 clears this up.
(My two SIMs are from T-Mobile and AT&T, respectively. Unfortunately, I don't think two T-Mobile SIMs has a chance of ever working with this setup on any firmware- "SIM 1" and "SIM 2" share an IMEI. While that's probably okay for SIMs from different carriers, that's not going to fly on the same carrier- it will look like a cloned IMEI to the network, and probably get shut down fairly quickly.)
Has anyone managed to make it work the Oneplus 8 (pro) unlocked USA version with 2 sims at the same time ? Thank you
It's working on mine with second simbtray however there is no service with both inserted. BecUzebitvhas the same IMEI as slot 1

1. First of all unlock bootloader and u also have permanent sim unlock from t-mobile.
2.After unlocking your phone will restart, setup your oneplus 8 and enable developer mode and in developer mode enable "usb debugging" .
Note: You must have working adb/fastboot drivers.
3. now restart your phone to bootloader.
4. Download any android 10 fastboot Rom from xda developer.
"I have tested this : https://sourceforge.net/projects/fastbootroms/files/OnePlus 8/10.5.9-EUROPE-OnePlus8Oxygen_15.E.18_OTA_018_all_2007160043_913306-FASTBOOT.zip/download
4.1. For flashing this rom your phone has to be in fastboot mode.
5. After downloading extract the rom and open extracted folder and double click "flah_all.bat
5.1.connect your phone to computer in fastboot mode and enter "Y"
wait for 5 to 7 minutes, in this process your oneplus will restart to recovery mode but never unplug the cable or use your phone during installation.
Note: i have tested dual sim with dual sim tray.

OP8 IN2017 (TMO) to Global Dual SIM

Has anyone been able to get dual SIM working on their T-Mobile OP8 after flashing to the Global ROM?
I have a dual SIM tray and whenever I insert two SIMs, I get service on the first, and the second is recognized, but refuses to connect to any network. This applies to any second SIM inserted. The IMEI numbers are showing as the same for IMEI1 and IMEI2, but that shouldn't be an issue as far as I can tell.
Thanks!
I have same issue did you find any fix? Please let me know

I was recently able to "rebrand" my OnePlus 8 T-Mobile 5G phone from the T-Mobile version to the European version using these steps (I tried with the GLOBAL version but it DID NOT work):
1. Unlock the bootloader. Steps given in:
https://www.oneplus.com/support/answer/detail/op588
2. I was able to to use the MSMTool_instantnoodle_tmo_15_O.06_200411.zip to go back to 10.5.7.IN55CB
(OnePlus T-Mobile Android build) using the method given in (GLOBAL version FAILED for me here) :
Instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-8/how-to/op8-unbrick-tool-to-restore-device-to-t4093043
Tool: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261823571
3 Repeat Step 1. Go to Step 4.
4. Next, I upgraded to 10.5.9.IN21BA (OnePlus European Android build) by flashing 10.5.9-EUROPE-OnePlus8Oxygen_15.E.18_OTA_018_all_2007160043_913306-FASTBOOT.zip using the method given in:
Instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-stock-fastboot-op8-stock-fastboot-roms-for-oneplus-8.4084629/
Tool: https://sourceforge.net/projects/fastbootroms/files/OnePlus 8/
5 Repeat Step 1. Go to Step 6.
6. Finally, I upgraded the phone to the latest OnePlus Android version for this phone through System Update to 11.0.9.9.IN21BA (OnePlus European Android build). Now Dual Sim capability is installed but it does NOT show.
7. Relock the bootloader and NOW dual sim capability shows under SIM & Network.
What I don't understand is that the model, IN2017 (T-Mobile), remains the same but when you boot the phone, the T-Mobile logo does NOT show and it boots like a non-T-Mobile OnePlus phone. I expected the model to change to the European model number (IN2013). My goal was to get Dual-Sim working as it has been banned by carriers here in the good ol' USA. My phone now shows 2 sim cards, originally it only showed 1. Now I have to verify what signals it really works with (5G, 4G ?) and if the dual sim capability works.

I went to Verizon yesterday with the setup written above and the second sim did register as Verizon with the first card in slot 1 as T-Mobile. The problem was that we only tested it with 5G. 5G did NOT work with both sim cards placed. I should have put my phone in 4G to see if THAT works. I will go to another Verizon store later in the week to see if it will work in 4G with both sim cards. Hopefully it will.
I went to the Verizon store yesterday and they said that I needed to open an account and activate my phone with that account in order for the Verizon service to work. I was under the impression that all you needed was a Sim card with an active Verizon account and a phone with a good IMEI. I asked them to use a spare Verizon card at the store to test it just to make sure it would work. He wanted me to sign up first which I wasn't going to do. I will have to find another store. Am I correct in assuming that you can just use the sim card from another phone and the service should automatically work ? Or do I have to "register" that phone with Verizon ? F%^k Verizon. Thank you.
So I went to the Verizon store yesterday and brought my OnePlus 8 (IN2017 updated with Oxygen OS 11.0.9.9IN21BA European version). I brought it in unlocked and the Verizon clerk told me it was "dangerous" to leave it unlocked and advised me to lock it (of course I did not). I had my phone set to LTE (4G) under network settings and the two SIMs slots were showing with the first one occupied by T-Mobile. The clerk placed a Verizon SIM card on the 2nd slot and the phone recognized it but IT DID NOT work (messages nor calls). So apparently, according to other users over the web, the blockage of service is coming from the carriers (T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.) themselves. They frown upon dual sim capability and until there are enough complaints to make them change their stance they will continue to refuse to provide dual sim service. It may work in Europe and Asia, but here in the US, not a chance. Talk about UNFREE market.

Visible SIM not recognized in rooted OP7 Pro unlocked

I checked my IMEI on Visible's website and it checked out. I am running the Android 11 Pixel Experience ROM and Google Fi SIM worked fine, but I cannot get the Visible SIM to even be recognized as existing in the tray. I tried both SIM slots. Does this have something to do with being rooted? Ironically I installed this SIM in my Poco F3 which is NOT compatible, and although I got no service, that phone did recognize the SIM and even all of the Verizon APNs. Just wondering if you guys have any thoughts? Thanks.

It shouldnt have anything to do with being rooted, but if you have converted/changed firmware then that could be the issue.
If you have the engineering mode app installed u can check the sim in *#808# or by adb shell am start com.oneplus.factorymode/.manualtest.SimCardTest . If the test fails then the modem or your efs is messed up.Hopfully you have a efs back up. Try starting over with MSM flash first.I believe the fail sim is caused buy a key that is in the locked sfs folder of the efs. I do know for a fact there is a RSUprivate key there also. And have obtained it. But still have not found a way to write this back, other then efs restore in twrp.
I'm guessing it is related to the ROM.

I'm on visible and I'm using an unlocked T-Mobile gm1915. When on the global rom, it gave me a pop up to instructions for using the verizon sim on a cdma-less device. However, I didn't have to do anything and the sim started randomly working after waiting 5-10 minutes. So, i recommend just leaving the sim in for atleast 10 min and have mobile data on.
