Micro SD card problems - Onetouch Idol 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK so when I first installed the micro SD and sim card tray everything worked perfectly... But then I took it out (why I don't know), but when I tried to put the tray back in, I accidentally put it in the wrong way... It got stuck, and I got it out. So when I got it out I knew what I did wrong so I put it in the right way. When I got it in, the sim card worked great but my micro SD card could not be acknowledged. So I took the tray back out and formatted Overwrite (fully) with sdformatter program. Put it in still didn't work. So I'm almost giving up and thinking that I messed up the wires when I got the trey stuck. Open to any help any one has, or if anybody went through this same thing.

Memory card issues?

Okay, so my phone has done this a couple times now, and I don't know why its doing it, or how to avoid it. I've inserted a new memory card and it works fine. Then, after I take the card out once, the phone won't recognize it anymore, and I can't reformat it to make it work...then out of the blue, it will work again for a week or so... its getting annoying... any thoughts?

SD card dismounting on its own?

I just got my Inspire in the mail today and have been using it for about 5 hours. The phone has "lost" the sd card twice since then. I'll be using it and all of the sudden an error message will appear saying "can not read sd card, please dismount before ejecting" I then have to take the bottom part off and eject the card and put it back in and let the phone find it again. Anyone else run into this?
Yes, I've had this happen to me a few times already.
Me too... for the record, Im using a sandisk 16gb
Mine was doing this too. I took it back and swapped it and haven't had a problem since
No problem here with my 32GB.

New sd card is damaged?

Today i went to cellcom to get my sd card checked because it all of a sudden stopped being read by my phone and could not be read on other phones. So they gave me a new one because I'm still on warranty and when i got home and put the new one in it says the sd card is damaged when i hadn't even done anything to it yet. Any ideas whats wrong?
I also tried formatting it and that did not do anything, and i also formatted it on my computer which still did nothing
Have you tried writing on it with your computer?
yup tried formating it on computer. I also just tried it in a different phone and it was damaged. Thats strange how i got a new sd card that was damaged
try a different brand. there's a chance that if you got those memory cards from the same place, they could have been manufactured at the same time. possibly a bad batch of them

Verizon s3 SIM and SD card Failure

So, my mom's phone started acting up yesterday.. and a few months before...
Long Story:
A few months back, I noticed that my old s3(my mom took it, she liked it a lot) didn't recognize the SD card. I didn't think much of it(it was long out of warranty both ways). It didn't matter much either since I had everything backed up and my mom had only 3-4 apps. Lately, she was saying that it ran slow, and today, she said the phone would restart. I did not see it until 3 hours later. The warning said the SIM card was undetected and it rebooted. I took the battery, SD, and SIM out. I tested the SIM in my s4(which reads a 16 gig SD fine) and it didn't see anything. I assume that either A) it died or B) the phone somehow killed it. I cleaned all of the ports with some compressed air and put everything back in. Now, I cleared the cache and did a odin back to NE1 as well. So far, no issues, but I'm still worried. What is causing this?
TL;DR: Phone does not like the SIM and SD card all of a sudden.

Dead Ext SD card?

Went to check some photos on my phone, the ext SD card is MIA?
Pulled it out, put it back in, still no go. Popped the card into the adapter
to shove it in my computer. Everything shows up fine on that?
Any ideas? Rebooting didn't seem to do anything either.
This card is about 6 years old, on it's 4th phone. Maybe it's just worn out
contact wise?
TIA
