I had an htc desire before. My question is has anyone tried flashing cooked files from the said site? I want to change my batt icon badly

where did you get framework-res.apk from...you need that in order to cook in kitchen

From the /system/framework/ folder. You need root to access it.

somehow i cant apply the update with the recovery mode -.-

I have deodexed rom but kitchen should work with odexed roms also.

Default options are fine - you can't flash the zip anyway.

Get the apks from the generated UOT zip and copy them to your phone (for example with adb).

Yes it really works.
@Blumdum: I have got an odexed phone and it worked fine. You just have to extract the apk-files from the cookek-zip-file and overwrite the old ones.

Im having an error when flashing the cooked file. Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
Im trying to change not just the batt but also pop up, notifications bar etc..

So do not flash the files provided by uot kitchen. Extract the apk-files out of the kitchen-file instead.

No, just use root explorer (or something like that) to copy the cooked uot-kitchen-files into the original folders.

Yes, framework-res.apk belongs to this folder (you should got the original file for cooking in uot-kitchen from there).
The SystemUI.apk belongs to the /system/app/ folder.

maybe i have found a solution how to flash the update.zip of uot
there is one point in their how to:
WORKAROUND for recovery error (Status 0):
1. Unzip your ROM and find
META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary file
2. Put this file in the UOT zip (overriding UOT's file)

and then it should work
this file is included in the Root-i9001-Signed.zip of Keksflip

How to create a default Gallery QuickPics:
1. Download QuickPics below,
2. Ektract application "QuickPic" using winrar,
3. To the folder "lib\armeabi" and copy the file name "libqpicjni82.so", after that, you paste the rom which you wish to use, to the folder "system\lib".
4. Copy of the application "QuickPic" in "system\app". done!
5. Archive want the flash rom .zip!
6. Paste Rom on your sdcard, Install via CWM ...
7. Enjoy!!!

gallery3d not smooth, I delete gallery3d
without any "libqpicjni82.so" quickpics force close, you go to the folder quickpic.apk and to folder "lib\armeabi\libqpicjni82.so" and copy file name "libqpicjni82.so" paste in "system\lib"
enjoy!!!

Simply by putting Quicpic apk in the system folder does not help since there are FC errors.
For those who find the tutorial a bit complicated, just install the apk in your phone... (dont flashor anything). Just install it as a normal application

no bro, this tutorial is not to install the application as usual. but, this tutorial for rom before the flashing, to create a default gallery quickpic!!!

Simple, you flash the rom, see whether the use quickpic or gallery3d?
with this tutorial, you build rom,
when you see the flash you use quickpics

I tried to change an image in systemui.apk. First I decompiled it with apkmanager,the I changed the image,I compiled and signed it.Then, with android commander I pushed systemui.apk. Now , my status bar doesn't appear. What is the problem ? Please help me.

Use winrar for theming. Apkmanager is nly for .xml editing or smali editing.

ahh don't do that way! -_-
just open the apk directly using winrar..then open the folder wer you want to change the .png images..just drag and drop the images in the winrar window and the rest will be done the winrar itself..you don't even need to extract all those files and recomplie them again!

there is no need of winrar all u need are the images photo resizing software

I use apktool to unpack and can u specify exactly which icons do I need to erase ( name of files) then it'd be easier for me to understand

I downloaded and replaced my framework file with your modified one... I noticed no effect so I rebooted the phone....
On turning on the status bar was changed but there started to occur status bar force close error and it won't go away so I restored my backup...
Can you fix that?

[LOLLIPOP] Ported 4K & Timeshift video from Xperia Z3

I finally made!!!!
i'm here to tell you how to obtain 4K & Timeshift video without Xposed Framework and put to work on our awesome Xperia Z1...
After a lot of experimentation i finally got it!!!!
Let's go:
METHOD 1
1º - Download and unpack the View attachment 4K_lp.zip, after that copy to your SD CARD.
2º - Reboot into Recovery and make a nandroid backup; Reboot your Z1.
3º - Now using a file explorer (I always use Root Explorer) copy the content of the unpacked zip in your respective folders.
IMPORTANT: remember that in LOLLIPOP the folder has a 0755 permission and all the files has the same 0644.
to make easy change permission, put the file explorer to show by date.
Done that, just reboot your phone and enjoy!!!
METHOD 2
Thanks to @iedafarha that made a flashable zip...
just reboot into recovery mode and flash the View attachment 4K_lp_FLASHABLE.zip.
reboot and Enjoy!

i really don't know how to do it with es file,
but, sort the itens by date,
and select all that is dated by today and long press or click on the 3 dot menu and select permissions,
if they are file type, set to 0644, if is a folder set to o755

as i said to iedafarha, i'm at work and my workstation doesn't have SDK, so what can i do for you right now is upload the files and tell how to do...
it's not complicated
copy all files and folders to respective places (except SyncHub), set the right permissions (0755 for folders and 0644 for files), after that install as a normal apk the SyncHub, then go to data/app/com.sonymobile.synchub1
and paste all the content of the lib file set the right permissions and done!!
reboot and enjoy!
