Hey I just wanted to know if there's any work around to getting snapchat to work on our rooted device????
Clear data for Snapchat in settings
Uninstall Snapchat
Download an older version from APK mirror (I think v9.19 worked with root)
Make a backup in TiBu (Data only!)
Clear data again in settings
Uninstall again
Download latest from the Play Store
BEFORE OPENING: Restore data from TiBU
You should now be signed in and ready to go. This method worked for me.

Try an even older version.
Just got the Note 5. Switched from the Note 4. I was rooted, but I was on Kit Kat. My snapchat worked fine.
Whats the issue with snapchat? Because I was getting ready to root my note 5. But between snapchat and samsung pay and no strong urge to root yet, I might hold off a bit.

Snapchat is easy to work around. Samsung pay is another story. Personally, the performance and battery life increases I've gotten since rooting and flashing custom roms and kernels far outweighs my urge to use Samsung pay.
Do you have Xposed installed? Try disabling it first then signing in the reinstalling Xposed, because I read somewhere that Snapchat was checking to see if Xposed was installed.
Wait snapchat doesn't work with root... someone should tell my snapchat that.
My snap is and has always been fine even with root.
Had this issue. Remove Xposed completely. Sign into snapchat, install Xposed again and should be good. It is a check for Xposed that causes the issue (not root) but check only happens on initial sign in to Snapchat.

Snapchat is strictly looking for xposed I just found this out because I unrooted, but xposed was installed still and I couldn't log in, but then I rerooted and uninstalled xposed and I logged in so we need an xposed cloak
I finally decided to root and install xposed on my note 5 and I hadnt realized i couldn't use Snapchat anymore. I would love an xposed cloak. I tried flashing the xposed Uninstaller but that put my phone in a boot loop until i installed again.
Not a direct solution, but isn't Casper close to Snap even tho not the official app?
I found a work around for it my phone died and I signed into my sc from another device used it and logged off when I tried signing in on my phone I got temp login failure notice this is what I did to get back on:
On a second device, download latest version and sign into Snapchat
Once done, root second device and download titanium backup
Make a back up of Snapchat from second device and send the .tibkp back up or whatever to the first device
On first device download latest version of snapchat and titanium back up and restore the data only from the file you sent to the first device from the second device
Once done use sc like normal
Works fine unless you sign out from Snapchat on the second device so what I did is I froze Snapchat on the second device and erased the back up.
I haven't really had issues with Snapchat, but my Xposed has been a little weird lately.
I pretty much use 3rd party apps these days.

I have a friend who's sucking me into this, so I thought I would give it a go. When I could login to the management on the website, but not the app, I did some Googling. I came across that rooted devices seem to be evil, and I get it from a certain standpoint. Too bad Snapchat doesn't have logins more like WeChat, so a security breach wouldn't be such a big concern.
But I digress to my question for you... after you got Snapchat working, were you able to install the APK through GooglePlay or Recovery (ZIP) and have your root access back WITH Snapchat still functional?
I've tried a few of the "hide root" apps myself, but none of them really seem to work anymore for situations like this.

Superus and ((hide root)) will not let you use Snapchat
After installing normal Snapchat.. And log in than you can flash the root access

Yeah I tried about 4 of the HIDE ROOT apps until I gave up. Thought it was worth a shot, but we are WAY past the days of things being THAT easy, right... LOL
Thanks for the tip about unrooting, installing Snapchat, and then reroot! Always hate messing with that stuff if there is no need.
Snapchat doesn't work with rootcloak and rooted phones anymore.
Does anyone know how to get snapchat working with a rooted phone. I have already tried removing XDA Framework and using rootcloack and it didn't.
I refuse to remove root.

I don't use snapchat myself but know from other people that it's working on rooted devices when
A) you install snapchat and login on a unrooted device and then apply root, it seems to work fine when you root a device when snapchat is already running
OR
B) use magisk su, you can download magisk manager from Playstore and depending on your set-up you can flash the necessary files from within the app or flash a zip from recovery in addition to the app from Playstore, magisk has a hide option and is able to make rooted devices pass safetynet, therfore snapchat is working, see here:

Hey guys! I got problem. I can not logged to snapchat with my NOTE EDGE (SM-N915FY) on THAT ROM. I try backup by titanium backup in stock rom where I can log in before I rooted it. But when i restore apk+data after few second snapchat automaticly logged of me. I have no idea why this don't work. Maybe someone have the same problem and solve it. Help me! I use magisk root with hide but on stock and custom rom they don't pass SafetyNet and i don't know why.
Hey just saw this by coincidence and know the problem and the solution:
Snapchat gets blocked on rooted ROMs including rooted stock ROMs. I managed to get it to work by doing Titanium backup of a working version and then restoring it on my rooted device. Have a look at the two links below. Instead of Bluestacks as some recommend, I'd probably use the Nox Android player. Getting root on it is easy:

Good luck.
Do have xposed installed? I had to remove it first and reinstall it after I logged in

Sir how can I go back in kitkat version of note smn9w816
Hello there
I am running a custom ROM on my Galaxy S8 and it is rooted using Magisk rather than SuperSU. SnapChat works fine with Magisk as it does not detect the root, however I've tried everything with the Barclays Mobile App but I just get stuck on the first screen and nothing happens afterwards.
At first it used to ask me to grant it root permissions and of course I did, but it has never actually worked.
I am not completely sure, but I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that my device is rooted.
Can someone please shed some light on this? I really need to get this application working as it is important for me. Do I have to go back to completely stock in order to use this application?
Thanks!
yes, it doesn't work on rooted devices. One of the ways that it tries to detect root is by trying to get root, as it happened in you case. By granting it root access, you marked your phone as rooted, and disabled the app. In case you were wondering, it has many other ways to detect root. It used to work with magisk hide, but I tried just today, and it seems that they can detect it too, as I can't use it anymore. By the way, your phone is flagged as rooted, and you will either have to do a factory reset to get it working, or call Barclays, but I think that there is no way to get it working. If you find out how to get it to work, please share it.
