TWRP on Samsung Galaxy SII Plus (I9105P) - Samsung Galaxy S II Plus

Hello,
TWRP officially supports the Samsung Galaxy SII Plus (I presume they mean I9105), however can the same recovery be used on the Samsung Galaxy SII Plus I9105P without bricking the phone? If so, than can I use the TWRP Manager app to install the recovery?
Best,
WorkingNippon

Yes,non-P won't brick ya device. You will just need to flash non-P roms after that..btw and there's also official recovery for P too.

I see your using AOSP rom, have u tried CM 12.1 or 13?
You have any issues with AOSP? I got a S2P, but I have issues with both 12.1 and will most likely enter the same issues with 13.

Actually i don't remember very well coz now i use my Xperia M2..i reverted my S2+ to Sazy Rom coz i now my father use it.But i think everything was alright on AOSP maybe sometimes when my battery die and i turn off the phone...it was often optimizing apps..that was my only issue if i remember correctly. Just try by yourself and see which one suits u most.Good luck

Hi thanks for the help. One thing thats confusing the situation is that people seem to reffer to my phone as the galaxy 3 or the i5801? I know it as i5801 Apollo, some people reffer to it as Galaxy i5800?
So is the Galaxy 3 the i5801 or the i5800 ?

They are the same with a few minor differences such as i5801 having the possibility of back light notification(BLN). Anythig workin on i5800 should work on i5801. I flashed froyo custom roms on my phone based on europena firnware and they work fine

Both are essentially the same, in India its called i5801, its known with various names in different countries, apollo being most used. You dont have to worry as all ROMs posted in the forum will work on any of i5801 or 5800.

all i can say i havent seen any real bad roms, just visit the threads in the dev section and compare them to what you want from it. ive used kyrillos for a long time but with recent updates i figured it was not what i want anymore (wich offcourse doesnt make it a bad rom). i went looking for something else i liked and the rom that caught my eye was kyorarom.
so basicly its a matter of taste. like i said try to compare them for your needs and flash the one you think suits you best. and if after using it a bit you want to try something else? just flash another one.
good luck and happy flashing
Thanks so much for the really helpful info!
I ended up deciding that the Apollo i5801 is not for me as the screen is just to small and low resolution. I am selling it if anyone is interested:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290634314...ELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_500wt_959
Instead I have chosen to go for the Motorola Defy as its still pretty cheap and has a high res screen and good battery.
Thanks for all the help and I hope this thread helps people that are interested in the Apollo..

[Q] Custom ROM, Custom Recovery & Custom Kernel

Hello!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S Advance i9070.
I just customized it from 2.3.6 stock, to Light JellyBean v1.2. I use CoCore-E-8.6.4 as custom kernel.
I don't know what to do, the phone is very slow. Sometimes it freezes for a very long time, it freezes in the menus, it freezes on google play, etc. Sometimes it's for a short period of time, but sometimes it crashes the whole ROM and the phone reboots... :crying::crying:
What should I do? On 2.3.6 the phone worked like a charm...
Please teach me how to make it better (4.1.2 of course). Tell me what is the best ROM, best KERNEL, best everything for S Advance i9070?
Thank you in Advance!

Thanks for the answer. If I could have done it, it would have been great. It might still work, if I find the apps in .apk, it might just work, like an ordinary app. Does S-Voice belong to Samsung or Google? That's the only app that I want, I think. And I have it in .apk. I also have AccuWheather and Samsung Apps in .apk. I would lose Kies(I think), but the software is crap, backup and restore works only 70%. But there are more softwares out there that can do what Kies does, only better. So, I don't know, it's something to think about...

I just flashed carbon rom on my xperia s since the unicorns rom didn't worked because the rom file was for samsung tab if I'm not mistaken.Do u know any way to solve this problem? It does happened to both of the roms (carbon rom and cyanogenmod 11), sometimes my phone get lags and it does auto reboot and my battery suddenly goes too low after the reboot. For example, my battery before was 54% after reboot, it goes down to 15%.

Carbon rom external sdcard
Hey Everyone,
Im newbie here, and here what ive got. I ve done a factory reset on my Xperia V with :
Tsubasa Carbon ROM Unoff 20140908 1903,
Kernel Ver 3.4.0,
Build Numb caron_tsubasa-eng 4.4.4. KTU84Q
Then now whenever i tried to open gallery it says that "No external storage available" and when i opened camera it says "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped".
I tried to figured it out by googled and search anywhere, but restarting, rebooting even reflashing via TWRP the results stays the same.
Kindly anyone would help? Thanks. :crying:

For the carbon rom kernel, it's included in the rom file. You can extract boot.img and flash it. For me, it's the best kernel for carbon rom.

It happened to me too for few time when I install rom. But I don't know whats triggering the problem. I try to clean cache and dalvik cache in recovery, and the camera ok. When I accidently uninstall some system app, camera stopped or gallery wont open and I do clean install. Maybe you can clean cache and dalvik cache or clean install. I hope it's work for you.

[Q] Powered Off, Battery Animation

Hi, I tried the XDA Assist board and was redirected here so I was wondering if anyone here knows how to modify the Battery Animation in the Powered Off State, currently on my current ROM (BrokenOS 1.4 Official 4.4.4) the animation is gone and is just a static image so I'm unable to tell if the battery is charging/battery level.
I found the stock images in the res/images/charger and that's not at all what I currently have with this ROM and I'm unable to find the ones I do have. Is this a glitch on my part and if so how do I fix this, I really like charging my phone while off so that it can rest.
Below is the image of what I currently have,it just looks like a fat cigarette too me which urks me...

Device Info (Incase it Helps)

Alright, well I just flashed my previous ROM I was using (BlissStalk) alongside all my other things I would flash and it works, so I'll try flashing the ROM (BrokenOS,what I was using) standalone and see if it reoccurs. Might switch ROMs if it really is the ROM,there was features in BlissStalk that BrokenOS doesn't have. (Power Widget for one, I had just learnt to dealt with the Toggles and use Quick Pulldown)

I recomning Omni it lives on the better edge even some parts are a bit out of date, but in return it have better drivers and better kernel.
does any of the stock roms work anymore as ive been trying to boot a few but never boot up just stops on the boot animation
