Aluminium or Frost? - Nexus 6P Accessories

So Google is refunding me for my Graphite 128 GB which is great because I've only been through 2 RMA's and I ordered over a month ago. Now what sucks is there isn't a Graphite 128 GB in stock. There's a frost and aluminium and they both look great but I just hate the silver/chrome look. The plus side maybe it won't scratch as easily so wanted to get some recommendations based off how they scratch, feel, etc. Appreciate any help in advance.

Ugh! Accidentally clicked the wrong subforum. Meant for this to be under Q&A. Moderator please fix, sorry >_<.

Unfortunately the frost and the aluminum are silver/chrome especially the edges. I have the graphite but if I haven't the option for the graphite I'd rather go for the aluminum.

I have the Frost and I love it. The only chrome on the Frost is around the sides of the phone and the fingerprint sensor, otherwise it's all white.

Very happy with Aluminum, but its usually a personal preference...

Frost here, almost entirely white on back side, bit of silver around sides and fingerprint sensor, screen side is black.

I vote Frost. =)

So I went with Frost. Got it in today and Graphite is back in stock. New problem and its not what you think...I like the Frost better lol. It just feels BETTER. Why this is a problem is because I'm returning it. Main reason: bottom half has a pink tint. Lesser reasons: power button is practically flush with the side, scratches on the top chrome part.

Frost does feel good. Nice matte texture.

Yeah definitely feels much different from the Graphite and I'm assuming aluminium too. But what I like about it is that it still has that same metal look the graphite and aluminium has. I reordered the frost. Hopefully get it early next week.

Your favourite dBrand Skins

Hi guys,
I would just like to see the popularity of these skins for XDA members.
Please vote.
i don't own one, but the black looks the best to me by far
I own a titanium, looks really good!

Look at the attached pics. Its more grey-ish than black-ish. I will take a pic in daylight
Why a new thread when you see so much people raving about it already?
The black titanium is closer to a gunmetal color with the slightest bit of bronze when viewed under light.
You won't regret getting one of these, that's for sure!
Finally got the black titanium one and I do like it so far.
What I don't like though, are the sharp edges. I've sanded them down a bit but they're still not perfect to the touch.
I can feel the edges cut into the hand a bit while holding the phone.
It's not a dealbraker but would be better if the edges were bevelled somewhat.

I too had the same issue when I first applied the skin. But I used my thumb nail to rub and de-burr the edge of the skin to take the sharp edge off. I now cannot feel the skin on the phone at all when I hold it.

Question for white nexus 5 owners

I currently have a black nexus but have to get it exchanged due to a fault. I am considering getting the white one instead.
I wondered if the white one had the same rubber texture feel to it and how durable it is to marks etc. Does it mark easily or pick up scuffs at all?
Thanks

The white version has a different back to the black. It's harder and smoother, so feels a bit slippery. In any case I'd put a case on it soon as if I where you. I've done that along with a screen protector so it shouldn't receive any marks on it.

The white has a smoother finish, very similar to the keys on a white Apple keyboard. Color wise it's not a true white, looks more like eggshell white to me.

Carved Wood Case

So I don't do a lot of reviews on accessories unless I truly love them. This one comes courtesy of http://www.carved.com/. It is made from real reclaimed wood and are hand crafted. they are reasonably priced at 30 dollars and are beautifully made. They have a nice soft almost rubbery texture on the side that feels great and the star of the show is a wood insert on the back.
It adds a little bit of weight and thickness but no more than most cases. It adds a real nice premium feel to the phone which I think most galaxy benefit from. I have gotten tons of compliments on it so far.
I have uploaded a stock image but if anyone wants more I can take some tonight when I get home
Damn, that looks really good. Different

They have all kinds of cool styles, I just ordered the recycled skate board one
Looks cool but that offered almost no protection...that being the point of a case. All the front edges, bottom and top, are still fully exposed. I've tried a case like this before and first drop I scratched the lower bezel and top.
thats pretty unique, i like it

It's not the most rugged bu any means, but I like how it raises above the camera to prevent the lens from scratching. It does give decent side protection and is raised above the screen as well. It's more for a unique high quality look that I was after. I usually never use a case on my phones but I do find teh S5 kinda ugly to say the least. With my xperia z and Z1 i never used a case because the device was so good looking.
Just a little update after using this case for a while. It still looks great like new, still get tons of compliments of it and it has survived a couple drops

That case scratched the crap out of my metal bezels. Myself and a ton of folks had this problem. I would not use it.
HELL ****ING YEA!
This was my first case and now the top bezels are scratched
So bad , the reason I didn't mention it was because I thought it was my pocket or something.
I thank God that my Note 4 which had this case on also had a defect that required me to return it. It scratched the hell out of my phone. My new phone has a ringke slim on it and all is well now.

Which Ringke did you buy? I bought one of their slim cases (white plastic) and I have not put it on since I don't think it will protect the phone much.
I have the Samsung case on it now, but the headphone cut out is too small!
I just left my 1 star review. Total bs with this case. Nice scratched up new phone I have. Waiting for spigen to replace my phone (yeah right lol)
Yea wish I knew before I bought this case
I thought this case was the bees knees until you guys made me remove it to find a few light scratches on the top of my phone. I guess it's the sharp inside lip on the case that's the cause....boooo.

Yea it looks almost black in the picture, but it's Navy Blue.
I have the slate and I really like how they shared the original look of the phone with the chamfered edges and making them glossy. As far as scratches go, I already had some before I started using the case just from being in my pocket. Besides that, I can't see those scratches when its in the case. And for anyone to think that this shiny polished edge will never get a scratch on it is absurd. A case is probably the worst thing for it if you ever get some dirt or dust in there.

Has anybody tried the gray? Pics?
Yes, i just got the Gray version today and its nice.
I know these are scratchy but they feel great and dont add much bulk to the phone so...yeah.

Same here. Love the look and feel of the case but I have a ton of little scratches on the top on my metal frame. Ridiculous.

Right. People are going crazy on spigen and complaining but it's samsung the one that made the soft metal bezel. I have the Capsule case and I love it and yeah I have a few tiny scratches but if you think another case won't do the same thing you are sadly mistaken. I hit my bezel with some polish wax and now you can barely see the scratches. Slapped my case back on and I'm good to go. Not worried about resale value anyway of the device since they have none as it is. I love the case.

paint wearing off Verus cases?

I got my Verus High Pro Shield case (in electric blue) last week. Love the design, but I'm returning it today because the paint has already scuffed off the bumper in five places, allowing the ugly white plastic underneath to show through. Just wondering if other people have had this issue - I'm not seeing it talked about in reviews at all, so I wonder if it might be specific to this color variant. Can anyone with one of these cases (in any color) report how the paint holds up to wear?
I've seen a couple complaints of this in the reviews on Amazon. Most of them seemed to be with the colored choices like blue red, etc. One of the reasons I went grey on my Verus.

Hate to break it to you, but the grey is a color coating too. The polycarbonate for the bumper is actually white underneath.
I have been using the Shine gold for 3 weeks without issue. However the phone has no drops and is treated like a baby.
dont mean to be rude but this case sucks tbh. go with a spigen case, their bumper case might be thicker but a lot better in my opinion.
To be honest after having this case I'm not a fan. It really compliments the phone but that's about it. To me the plastic bumpers while they may provide extra protection make the phone harder to hold. Also slippery due to the smooth surface.
I have had the blue one on for about a ,onto now and no issues with the paint wearing off. I did drop it though and the paint came off from that.
So, I ended up taking some automotive spraypaint to the bumper. Came out looking pretty nice and seems to be holding up pretty well so far!
