Lenovo Medion Lifetab S8312 problem. - General Questions and Answers

I have a problem with my S8312 lifetab. When i was updating to OTA #3 update my tablet crashed.
Now he only opens in Recovery 3e mode every time i'm restarting it. There are no ROM's for it on the developer site they only
provided source code for this model. I tried to conect the tablet using the ADB USB drivers but i've serched the web and didint find any.
Stock ADB drivers from Google are conecting to it but only the ADB sideload is working. "fastboot devices", "adb shell" etc. isn't.
Instaled stock ADB driver shows "TVE819M". I have one more device like this(S8312 and it's working). And they both have microSD slots and a option in recovery mode to install updates from sd card. I was thinking maybe create an image of working tablet and flash'it to the crashed one but how?
Other specs.
LIFETAP S8312
ANDROID-VERSION
4.4.2
KERNELVERSION
3.4.67
[email protected]#1
MT8392
PS. I've checked and cwm and twrp dosen't support this model.
Please help. And sorry for my bad english.

Progress
I was able to find the link to the update OTA #3 for Lifetab s8312 through "adb logcat".
When i tried to instal it through microSD card it shows "set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed" Instalation aborted.
I hope the link is going to be helpfull to someone. I didint find any of dose in the web. :good:
Link:

The fastboot is running but i can't unlock the bootloader it shows error 0x7000 i probably need a code.
I seen people instaling cwm on this device but how in my tablet condition ?
Please help !!!

I send you also links to the other updates.

[Q] Bassoon 7" dual sim .zip SDcard recovery rom needed or USB driver for flashtool

[Q] Bassoon 7" dual sim .zip SDcard recovery rom needed or USB driver for flashtool
Ls,
I'm trying to help a friend who deleted too many files from his Bassoon 7"dual sim tablet.
Now it fails to make calls and keeps saying that: "unfortunately, the system laucher has stopped".
I have no idea what he deleted (after I adviced him to install SU so he could move apps to the SDcard, so i feel responsible)
So im trying to reinstall the entire thing.
Factory reset doesnt help.
On needrom.com I found some jxd p1000 roms that might work(apparently the bassoon 7"is a jxd p1000 clone)
I have found several roms on needrom.com that might apply.
There's only 1 .zip rom that will attempt to install from SDcard. It starts but fails after a while because its the wrong ROM prob. It has android 4.1.1 and the tablet says 4.2.2.
The other roms require the flashtool.
I tried all possible flashtool that were adviced on this, and other, forums.
The problem is that the flashtools dont seem to recognize the device, neither does adb.exe.
I can use sideload but dont have the right .zip file for it. I can also copy it to the sdcard and use; recovery boot and install from SDcard but again, i dont have the right .zip ROM for that.
WIndows recognizes and is able to acess the device as a USB or as a m72_nand_p88 device.
I have installed the MTP-65xx usb drivers. some HTC usb drivers (windows reported the device as a HTC desire at some point) and the ADB usb drivers(windows reports the device as a ADB usb device if connected in recovery mode)
Questions(calls for help );
- Is there a USB driver that I haven't found that will enable me to use the flashtools so I can try the other ROMS from needrom.com
and/or
- Is there a way to convert the .rar ROMS that use the scatterfile to a .zip that i can use in reboot recovery from SDcard or use ADB sideload
and/or
:cyclops: :silly: im going crazy here....
Recap:
- I cant connect to the device with the flashtool
- I do not have the rom in a .zip that I can use in recovery from SDcard :silly:
- I do not know how, or if its possible to, convert the scatterfile/flashtool roms to a format (.zip) that I can use with recovery from SDcard or sideload (the scatterfile .rar roms are about 170Mb the .zips are about 400+ Mb so eitehr they are pre-unpacked-installed...?)
- I seriously have no idea what to do next..
Device:
samsung p1000 look alike clone; it has dual sim, 7 inch display, says bassoon on the back.
android 4.2.2
baseband: MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V8
Kernel: 3.4.5 [email protected]#1
Build: ALPS.JB3.MP.V1.12

Any and all help is much appreciated!

Greetings Mac,
I have a similar problem with same tablet but I was able to fine the direct download site for Bassoon. It's in Chinese but you can figure it out. Scroll to the model and version (version # under 2nd battery i.e. 061) as well as the , click on link and on the page there is a down arrow and horizontal bracket on button on top to download. "SP_Flash_Tool". I am currently downloading the rom for my device but will post results.
Here's the link: http://pan.baidu.com/share/home?uk=2285182452&view=share#category/type=0
Good Luck!

note : if you see unknown oem command the trigger isn't supported by your device.
6 : The temporary cwm recovery session should be started at this point select install zip from the recovery menu using vol up / vol down to navigate and power to select

thank a lot!:good::good::good:
this method saved my tablet!! I almost had discarded it!!
some notes:
after installation and reboot my tablet stuck on asus logo few reboot didn't solve it. so i entered boot menu and performed a factory reset. then it passed asus logo and every things got OK except some force close messages on google services such as google play and google apps. I think update will solve them.
< waiting for device >
what should i do ?
Thanks, man
thanks a ton, yaar. your post saved my tab. I was enduring the man-made disaster (Lollipop update to FonePad7) for more than an year. Actually used it exclusively as a WiFi device due to buggy telephony software. This had been a global phenomena, still ASUS didn't care to release a downgrade option. Not even acknowledge it. I contacted their customer care and was advised to take the tab to service center!!! (what is he going to do if the company doesn't have an official downgrade option?). I was really impressed by the quality of ASUS hardware and also bought Zenfone2 for my wife.
But now i learnt my lesson: NO MORE UPDATE AND NO MORE ASUS.
Asus ME1775CG
ASUS me175cg Lollipop ww 6.3.9. In normal mode PC detects both internal and external memory. But when It boots to droid boot mode it shows "no usb cable connected" and selecting "install from sd card" option shows "unable to mount the sd card partition" How to solve this issue.

[Resolved] Trouble shoot for Xolo Era X and 4G Twrp installation.

Hello Everyone -
Welcome back , In previous post i explained " How to install twrp and root Xolo Era X,4G" but i forgot to mention some things which resulted errors for many users making it non-beneficial , I mean wasted time , data , or may be the android rom. Thanks for describing problems in previous post. Now it's mine turn to return you something original , something good .Search your question answers here and problems.
Please note that this thread is only for Xolo era X , 4G marshmallow 6.0 version only , 5.1 is not supported .Sorry but update to 6.0.
1. `adb` is not recognized as an internal or external command
Ans - If you are facing this error then probably you are not in the folder where adb and fastboot tools are installed .
You have to open command prompt only where adb tools, drivers are installed.Still not solving then google it.
2. adb devices = blank (nothing is shown)
Ans - I think you have either not connected your smartphone with usb debugging on or you have not installed proper version of adb and fastboot drivers. Please google for different versions of adb and fastboot.
3. fastboot devices = blank (nothing is shown)
Ans - Same as in above answer.
4. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img = <waiting for device>
Ans - It means that you have not installed fastboot drivers properly or you have not connected your devices in fastboot mode.
5. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img = no such file found or recovery.img not found.
Ans - You have not copied or moved recovery.img(twrp or cwm image file) in the folder where adb and fastboot are installed .So put the recovery.img (it can be twrp.img or somename.img) in the adb and fastboot tools folder(it can be either found in local drive C or at any custom location) .
6. Recovery Installed successfully but still booting in stock recovery or Computer shows installation successful but still opens stock recovery.
Ans - This is a great problem for many users and it is happening due to security policies of android 6.0. To fix it Do as following-
(1) Install twrp recovery and when it say success plug your battery out .
(2)Put battery back and open smartphone in recovery mode by holding VOL Up + Power Button for 15 seconds.
(3)Now your smartphone will boot in TWRP recovery but your twrp recovery is still temporary .
(4)Install SuperSu.zip by twrp recovery and this zip file will patch boot.img and system files.
(5)After installation of zip file reboot your smartphone .
(6)Your smartphone will restart 2-3 times and finally will boot .
(7) Finally you have rooted your smartphone and installed TWRP permanently .Now install busybox and enjoy.
Note: Please Select Expert Mode when you open SuperSu app first time after this process(you will be asked by SuperSu app to select two modes 1 Expert , 2 New User ; always select Expert or root will not function properly).
I hope you got what you wanted . If i helped you then please Subscribe , like and share also Hit thanks here on xda.

Flashing kingo root superuser is not a bad idea, you can try it but be aware of risks so take a backup through TWRP.You can try anything new after taking backup,if something goes wrong then restore your backup.Good luck.
Need latest twrp recovery
I want the latest version of recovery for xolo era 4g and want some custom roms....plz make it.....plzz
I'm facing an issue with the OEM Unlock toggle in developer options. When I toggle it On and select OK for the pop-up box that comes. It automatically disables it. Can u help me out with this and tell me why I'm facing this issue?
yes.. i was too facing this problem but if u are trying to install custom rom then u can flash 5.1 version through SPD Upgrade Tool and then toogle that option then install ur custom rom...
no option is there!

[GUIDE] Rooting Blu Grand M and Install TWRP ( STILL WORKING ON IT )

HOW TO ROOT Blu Grand M
Disclaimer: I hold no responsibility over what happens to your phone during the beginning,in the middle, and after you follow this guide
backup your files, if you don't then you're about to lose em.
(keep in mind, work in progress, sort of... ?, your choice to follow this guide)
DON'T 100% TRUST THIS YET, BECAUSE THERE IS NO CUSTOM ROM OR ANY WAY I KNOW TO ALLOW YOU TO INSTALL STOCK OS AND KEEP BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED AT THE SAME TIME. APOLOGIES. YOU CAN TRY TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT IF YOU WANT. I DON'T HAVE THE DEVICE TO WORK ON THIS.
--start--
Now, before you start. I feel that you need at least a VALID reason to root.
like, why do you want to root? is it for some app that requires root privileges? cause it'd be pretty useless to go
through all this without a proper reason .---. , I'm going to divide the steps into 4 Chapters (hehehe)
also the entire reason why this post exist is because I was helping a friend gain ROOT privileges cause they have an Blu grand M haha..
I don't see that many posts regarding this.. this is just to help people , if you already knew how to root your phone from the beginning then good for you.

Will this work with the Blu Grand 5.5 HD as it has the same chipset, processor and GPU? It has a different screen size and resolution
Hi all, I just want to let you know that
* yes, it does work, my friend was able to install it and boot into twrp but so far I have not seen a proper custom ROM for the device I was helping my friend with. so we quit (he eventually got a new google pixel phone anyway)
note: yes, we have installed TWRP and booted into it. but someone has to: make custom rom for device or try to find a way to install STOCK OS and keep bootloader unlocked at the same time. will update OP to warn everyone. sorry.
P.S: sorry for the really late reply, was busy with life.
Hi bro! I tell you that the terminal that I have now, I CANNOT flash anything, it has the BootLoader closed and I can't penetrate or delete it. Any suggestions? Scripts commands do not work, they issue an error message.

[Easy Guide] How to downgrade, root and install custom ROM on Vodafone Smart Ultra 6

Many of us are using 6.0.1 with this device. And we can tell you would want to root this device... otherwise you wouldn't be here.
To root the device you are required to downgrade to 5.1.1. Recently ZTE has removed all the official ROMs for this device that contain 5.1.1 files. This was the most common way to downgrade, by downloading these files and side loading them with ADB. However, I have found a Romanian version of the 5.1.1 ROM that is suitable for the root process.
You will need:
Vodafone Smart Ultra 6
A computer
ADB Platform tools
Micro-USB Cable
Firstly, download the platform-tools.zip from: https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
-extract the platform-tools.zip and place the folder anywhere on your computer.
Secondly, download the Romanian stock ROM from: https://bit.ly/2IwkUCT
-extract it and move the update.zip folder into the platform-tools folder.
Lastly, download the TWRP recovery from: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424952165
Now, make sure you have the Android USB Drivers installed. You can download from here: https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb
Now that is out of the way, lets flash the ROM onto your phone.
Reboot the phone into recovery. (Power button + VOL up (release the power button 2 seconds after "powered by android" logo, otherwise it will reboot)) Also plug in the phone to PC.
Now, select 'Apply update from adb'.
On the computer, head to the platform-tools folder and open CMD with that directory. (you know, the cd C:blah\blah\blah)
Type in
Code:
adb devices
to check if your device is detected by the computer. If it shows the device name along with sideload, then it is fine.
Then, type in
Code:
adb sideload update.zip
Wait until the process is complete and the phone says 'Install from ADB was complete.' in the bottom left of the screen on the phone.
Reboot the phone and you should see Android 5.1.1 setup screen in the Romanian language. Set it to the language you desire and connect to Wi-Fi. Log into your Google Account and do not set up a lock on the phone.
Now, head to Google Chrome and download KingRoot apk: https://kingroot.net/
Install the APK and try to root. It should work.
Now, go into Google Play Store, and install Rashr Flash Tool: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mkrtchyan.recoverytools&hl=en_GB
Move the TWRP recovery img file from the PC to the phone, and then open the Rashr Flash App and grant root permissions.
Scroll down till you see the 'Recovery from Storage' option. Select that and flash the recovery img.
Now, that should work. When it is complete, find and download the custom ROM you would like to flash. In my case, I will be using the MIUI 7 ROM. (links of other ROMs below.)
Transfer it to the phone and reboot to recovery. Once you are in recovery, wipe everything except internal storage and flash the ROM. After flashing, then you can wipe internal storage and reboot. You can also root if you desire.
You have now installed a custom recovery and a custom ROM to your phone. Give ya self a pat on the back.:good:

Thank you
I don't understand this bit, sorry
"On the computer, head to the platform-tools folder and open CMD with that directory. (you know, the cd C:blah\blah\blah)"
Does any 5.1.1 stock ROM works? the link for the Romanian is no longer available.
Thanks.
Link is down, i am betting zte or vodafone did a dmca takedown on it
Is it possible to get a new link?
Thanks in advance

Hey, happy to help!
Open Command Prompt (CMD) on your computer and browse to the directory of your platform-tools folder.
command example: cd C:\platform-tools
- I suggest keeping your platform-tools in the root directory of your C: Drive to access it quickly
Alternatively, go to the platform-tools folder with Windows Explorer, and SHIFT+RIGHT CLICK inside the folder. Then select "Open powershell window here" After that, type in cmd for the first command and continue with the guide.
If you have "open command prompt window here" then that is fine, you don't have to type in cmd.
I'm sorry for replying late, but if you need more direct help, contact me on Telegram: t.me/yomarshmellow

Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Can someone help?

Thanks for the link. The rom has Google FRP enabled, so to bypass it, I followed this vid:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFd33_kiEzo
I'm not sure how safe this guys APK is, but it did work. If there's an easier / better way to bypass FRP, please let us know.
thanks bro:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Kingroot not installing
Followed all the instructions - adb and installing Romanian ROM... but they get stuck on the Kingroot bit - "app not installed".
Done some searching on the 'net for a solution; even tried this FRP bypass (although I don't fully understand it and all it did was ask for my Google password - worrying - and then did feck all else!).
Any ideas, please?

Sorry for late reply, I assume you may have already fixed the issue. If not, try install a different kingroot APK with a different package. You might also get the warning telling you that this app may do permanent damage to your device, allow it and install.
Also, FRP stands for Factory Reset Protection. It is Google way of iCloud Lock, where if your phone is erased without authentication then it will lock itself on the Android Setup screen. Asking you to log in to the Google Account that was previously on the device before it was erased. There are services that fix this, or you can even bypass this yourself with some methods. But if a site asked you for your password for FRP then that is definitely a scam.
Sadly, I do not have the phone anymore so I cannot go in-depth the errors no more. But I will try and help as much as possible. ?

Try using super su, it worked fine for me
Hello! How to Russify Vodafone Smart Ultra 6??
I was trying to KIngRoot on a stock ROM with instruction from Modaco and it was not working either.
Hi, I have followed the steps above and downgrade the VSU6 to 5.1.1 but unfortunately the phone goes to a loop when booting (optimizing applications 1 to 14). I have been able to enter in recovery mode and switch it off. Is there anything I can do to fix the mobile? I appreciate if somebody could advise me what to do.
Update; I did a factory reset and telephone boot in version 5.1.1. (Turkish Edition)
The problem now is that I can not root the phone; I have tried KingrRoot and at third attempt it rooted the phone for a few minutes. Now KingRoot does not even try to root. I have tried kingo ROOT and it took ages, it indicated the phone as Rooted but it wasn't. Anybody knows how to root this mobile successfully?
Latest update: Finally installed Magisk throw TWRP and this automatically ROOT the mobile so it could be that it was not necessary to downgrade phone to 5.1.1. After this I used TWRP to install nutsda modified LineageOS 14.1 and gappss; everything is working.
