Hello, I'm new to Xperia 3.
I have the problem that after I got my OTA 5.1.1 update the power button, and both the volume buttons (but not the Camera button which is perfect) ceased to work. I have no explanation for this...
I cannot install any other firmware with Flashboot because I have to press the (not working) volume buttons in some part of the process.
I have searched in the forum for similar situations but didn't find any. Can anyone please help me with this?

Hi,i followed raffmonster tutorial on volume keys wake up.Somehow i messed up my build.prop and now non of the keys are working except the power button also the lockscreen sound became very weak, can anyone help me?i'm running on jb 4.1.2 leak 1
btw AND yes i've seen the other way on page 2 of raffmonster thread, but it was to late.
Firt, put your original build.prop in your system, or, flash JB again via RSDLite.
Then, open the phone app, and dial this: *#*#6686#*#* . Then, you're able to enable the option 'Wake-up phone via volume up/down'
i was flashing the newest version of xtrasmooth 2.5.3 and when rebooted the volume and power keys stopped working out of nothing... if i keep pressing the power key the phone reboots as usual and while on bootloader my keys work as usual but while on recovery and OS the volume keys do nothing...
please somebody help me:/
So I tried to get stock Android back to my phone (I had cyanogenmod) and when following the instructions of a guide I found, they said there was a possibility of getting into a boot loop, which indeed happened. To solve this I had to go into Recovery Mode and the logo of DEAD ANDROID would appear, and so it did. The problem comes when I push the power button and both volume buttons to get into the menu of recovery mode. It doesn't come up, the phone just shuts down.
I don't know how to solve this or if it even has a solution... could someone please help me
Ps: yes, I'm a complete noob :good:
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. To get into recovery when you see the dead Android press and hold the power button and then press and release the vol down button. It can be a little tricky, especially the timing of the press and release of the vol down button.

Other than buying a replacement volume button, does anyone know of a way to push the volume button without the button itself? I want to do a hard reset because I can't remember the PIN to unlock the phone. Afterwards, I'd need to flash a stock ROM & root it again.
Thanks
Hi. I want to install latest LinageOS rom in my Xperia L but my volume buttons are broken. I know there is an alternative for booting to recovery without using the volume down button. The problem is, if I need to flash stock rom for any reason (example, if I have a bootloop), I can't boot flashmode since I have to plug the phone holding the volume down button.
Is there any method to do that without using the buttons?
Suggesting other way round
Just as i did
Remove back panel
Use pen or anything pointed
Use the volume buttons then both
Flash/fast boot mode working without any errors!
Not an exact answer to ur query but still this could work
