[Q] Got stuck in Bootloop - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello xda community. I have a problem. I've been using Nexus experience rom(MM) and i've decided to go back to LP. I tried so many LP roms and after a short use(1 hour to 1 day, depends on rom) it gives me a bootloop. I tried 4-5 roms. One of them was my daily driver one month ago. Now I am using stock 5.1 with root and no problem at all. But why a custom rom gives me bootloop All answers appreciated.
Edit: Now i got bootloop on stock 5.1 too!! Please help!

Have you installed xposed framework?

No. The problem encountered after CM. I formatted system, data (not internal storage) but i got bootloops since then.

Have you tried flashing stock vía fastboot?

Nope, but is there any difference between flashing via fastboot or recovery?

well if you flash stock via fastboot, it will also reset some partitions and system files like radio/modem or gps
flashing via recovery just changes the OS and kernel

Than you. And is this procedure needs full wipe?

Need help to fix phone.

Hey guys!
This is the first time I was messing about with a non-HTC or Samsung device. I rooted my Moto G(XT1033) and flashed faux's kernel. I was facing a problem with listening to music since whenever I locked my phone, it would reboot so I was trying to flash CM11, but when I did a factory data reset using TWRP, it wiped everything including the /system and /sdcard so I was stuck without any ROM. I tried flashing the XT1033 ASIA stock Kitkat ROM but the moment I rebooted, I was met with a tide of crashes. Because I flashed the stock ROM, I lost root. Now I'm stuck because I cant even mount USB storage and I cannot ADB sideload. So can anyone help me fix this problem? I shal be greatly indebted if anyone could help me out of this situation.
Thanks.

Soft brick downgrade CM12.1 to KitKat

Hello!
I bought a Moto G falcon 2 mounts ago. Running CM12 everything was good.
I flashed a cm12.1, then my falcon started to crash randomly (mostly because i didn't flash the proper Gapps). So I wanted to revert back to KitKat to make a proper flash since the beginning, wich was ofc a bad idea. So I flashed the 4.4.4 stock ROM and now am in soft brick. I'm stuck at boot logo (The boot loader unlocked one). I tried to flash a stock 5.1 ROM (GPE_5.1_XT1032_LMY47M.M001_CFC.xml.zip) without any success.
My bootloader is updated to 4118, I can boot in recovery/bootloader.
Any ideas how to boot again? Thank you!

Well if you can boot into the recovery and if its custom (TWRP) wipe all the data on your phone. Second I would try to flash a ROM onto your device such as Resurrection Remix and see if that works. Update on your progress.
Thank you for your answer.
I tried to wipe data/factory reset, but twrp throws some error messages.
Unable to mount /data, /cache, /system and all derivatives.
I tried to flash a ROM through twrp but I think I can't because of that partition mess. I can't adb push to /sdcard, or sideload (seems to require /data).
I think that my issue is that I flashed the 4.4.4 gpt.bin, and I shouldn't have. If I'm right, is there any way to recover from this?

I crashed my S3 using camera on old cm12.1 and got into loop with services stopped. Try and D/L the new 4 22 and Slim ggaps 20150422 wipe chache and devik and reinstall cm and ggaps get it working this is what I did but I haven't read any info except to find a file for Odin but don't think you can use Odin. It be nice to have stable way to downgrade. The flash will hopefully get your phone working.

Thank you. But I can't flash a cm12.1 atm (see my post below). I can only flash through fastboot. I'm not sure I properly understood you, what do you call 4 22 ?
FYI I managed to boot again. Here's what I did:
Flash a 5.x ROM, try to boot to let the system make partitions and stuff (I think)
Boot in TWRP and saw that system and cache were not mountable, so I wiped them.
Flash a cm12.1 (+ Gapps) and here we go!
Thank you for your help!

Can't revert back to install normal ROMs after trying to flash Metallic ROM

Please Help
I was in miui ROM then I tried flashing Metallium ROM, after I flashed it, it booted up but, it wasn't restoring my previous apps, so I skip that part, but then when I got to the home screen I wasn't able to access my stuffs in my phone memory.
So I thought maybe I need to change the data to f2fs, so I went to the recovery and did and flashed the Metallic ROM again, but this time it didn't boot at all, there was a bootloop and I could get past the start up screen.
I tried my older ROMs the one that I had, but it's all giving me the same response now, I have switch before but I never have had this problem. Please help, how do I flash other lollipop ROM again.
Maybe changing to f2fs and doing a factory reset. If that doesn't help, flash stock ROM via fastboot.

Yeah that might work but I'm kinda looking for a solution where I don't have to flash the stock again because I lost all my moto g stuffs some months back.
And another thing is that when I flash MIUI its working fine again and I'm able to access all the file in my phone storage also. Any suggestions?
Mmmm if you are using TWRP you could connect the phone to the PC and make a backup while you are in recover mode. Then format again data partition to f2fs and make a factory reset including internal storage and finally flash your ROM and restore your files.
But if that is not working then the only option is flashing Stock ROM
If MIUI is still booting it means that your data partition is still ext4

Stuck at google logo after updating bootloader and radio

hey guys,
just wanted to upgrade my sisters phone which was running an old 5.1 version (custom rom, so the phone was unlocked and rooted already) to an android 6.0.1 custom rom. so i flashed newest twrp and flashed 6.0.1 bootloader and radio.img via fastboot using wugfresh tool and the files from the thread on here. now when trying to get into recovery, im stuck at the google logo.
did is miss sth?
my sister will kill me
thanks much!
Did you perform a factory wipe after upgrading?
i did the following. i went to recovery and wanted to flash the xenon 6.0.1 rom. thus i did a factory reset and cleaned cache and system. then the flash failed with this executing binary update error. i went to fastboot and flashed bootloader and radio. now im stuck there. anyone please??
Flash a stock rom to get the phone back to factory settings.
Were you using the latest recovery to flash the rom? Is the rom designed for the hammerhead?

yes i used the latest recovery. yes it is designed for hammerhead.
will i lose my internal sd media when flashing stock? because i want to avoid that.
If you did a factory reset like you said above you've already wiped the sd card.

Help. Unable to revert back to stock/stock based rom, only CM works. (N910C)

Hi.
Im a noob on XDA but have enjoyed the freedom of custom roms for some time now on my note 4 (N910C). So far it has only been stock based touchwiz roms. A few days ago i decided to give CM13 a go and since then i have been unable to revert back. Every touchwiz rom (stock and custom) i have tried just ends in a bootloop but when i flash CM13 again it boots up just fine.
I have tried flashing numerous android 6.0.1 stock roms through odin, even from different regions but still for the same version. Its always stuck in a bootloop.
Tried flashing stock and then immediately flashing custom stock based rom (both clean install after wiping and trying to dirty flash over stock rom)
I have done all the suggestions of factory resetting, wiping caches and you name it after clean flashes and even tried them with dirty flashes. Whatever i do i cannot get any stock or stock based rom to boot up.
A few months ago i tried out cm12.1 and had no problem going back to a stock based rom, but after CM13 my phone absolutely refuses to boot anything stock or stock based.
I would appreciate any advice and suggestions. Please ask if theres any more info needed of my device or roms i already tried.

You might be having kernel issues. If the stock you're flashing is a flashable zip then it might not include the stock kernel, if it doesn't include the stock kernel then its leaving the custom kernel from CM13. If that's the case it won't work because stock won't work with a CM kernel.
You said you did the wipes when you flashed, did you mean that you did factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache? Or did you mean that you did the advanced wipe options to wipe system partition and data partition before flashing?
If you didn't do the advanced wipe before flashing then it might help if you did them before flashing. Wipe system and wipe data then factory reset then flash ROM then wipe cache and dalvik after flashing then reboot.

Usually if it bootloops after flashing with Odin, you boot to stock recovery and factory reset/wipe cache and it should boot after that.
The times that you tried stock and then went back to CM13, are you rooting and reflashing TWRP again so you can flash back to CM13? Or is it leaving custom recovery on the device even after flashing with Odin? If its leaving TWRP on the device then Odin isn't flashing correctly.
Are you flashing the full stock firmware in Odin? Or are you flashing a modified stock .tar?

I have tried all the factory reset/wipe cache suggested on other threads and websites i have found regarding bootloops.
When going back to CM13 after trying methods to get stock back i flash TWRP again as flashing stock through Odin replaces TWRP with stock recovery again and then do a restore of CM13 through TWRP with all my necessary apps on, much easier than installing everything again after each try (a fresh install of CM13 also works fine with no problems). I also tried various versions of Odin just in case it was a problem with the version i used but every time i get the same same results.
I am flashing full pure stock from sammobile.
