My S6 chages very fast till 80%.
Now the problem arises from 80-87 it goes like 1% in 2.5mins(charging current 600ma)
from 87-93 it goes like 1% in 4mins(charging current 200ma)
and after 93% it goes 100% in less than a minute(charging current 100ma)
once i remove from charging it trickles down to 93 very fast
the battery drain is slower than normal after that till 80%
overall battery life is bad till 40 % but better below 40
i tried different cables adapters tried charging with phone switched off ,safe mode no good
i am on back to note rom with arter kernel
i am going to switch to stock to test it but it doesnt sseem to be a software issue
any solution guys?
callibrated the battery thrice
is the battery messed up?do i need a new one?

Have the phone reach 0% , until it powers off automatically . Then let it charge to 100% without turning it on

tried that too thrice
Change usb cable to random one because original samsung cable sucks...at least for me it suck

Seems I fixed mine. I had put an extended battery on this guy, and it would never change in battery level. I would have to reboot the phone to get it to register the new power level.
Discharge your phone to 0% until it shuts off. Try to turn the phone on several times to make sure its discharged (should shut off immediately). Charge the phone to 100% without unplugging it (will take a while, do it over night).
Today my % seems to be registering and no need to reboot the phone to change it. HTC tech support claimed they had nothing to do with the battery manufacturing so they wont help you.
if you reboot your phone how accurate is it to the actual battery meter showing you the percentage? I am at 6 percent left on my phone in hopes of discharging it and than charging it full to get mine to work

It will still probably jump down about 10% but it will sit there for a LONG time until the system is actually to that percent. My recommendation is dont reboot the phone if you want to keep accurate %. The rebooted value I dont believe indicates actual battery life remaining. There is a communication problem between the phone and the battery - HTC confirmed this is going to be patched (on the phone with them last night).
Trying to be a showoff, I decided to let my Blaze drain down to near-zero so I could get a screenshot of the battery stats page in CM. Unfortunately, it shut down when it hit "0" on the battery meter, and when I plugged it in to charge a few minutes later, it came up to the battery charge screen with the icon of the grey battery, and then shut off.
I can get it into clockworkmod and download mode while on AC power or plugged into my computer, but neither will charge it. Upon reboot while off AC or USB power, the Samsung logo flashes for less than a second and then shuts off. No CM boot animation whatsoever.
A voltmeter shows 3.65 volts on the battery, but I'm assuming the available amperage is extremely low and can't provide the required juice to boot it up completely. Any ideas would be appreciated.
boot into cm, backup and flash a different rom and see if it will charge
i had to do that with a droid x i bought off ebay, someone had flashed a version of miui that had a bug which caused it to think the battery was always full and wouldnt allow the phone to charge

Amps is a measurement of current.
Voltage is a measure of the charge and 3.65 volts is still a good amount. The nominal voltage for the battery is likely to be 3.2v and you're nowhere near that. For example if it took about 3 hours to run the battery down from 4.2v (full charge) to 3.65v then you should be able to run the device for maybe a couple more hours before the battery is close to being drained.
[just a guess here]
The firmware does battery management. Shuts off the device when it thinks the battery is about drained and stops charging when it thinks the battery is at about full capacity. The software is probably out of sync with the physical state of the battery (calibration) and thinks the battery is at zero when it actually has plenty left. Or it has a bug. If you can't find an easy way to wipe/reset the calibration data then I'd go with the advice above and re-flash or flash something else.

Thanks for the quick response, I think your guess was pretty accurate. An hour ago I cleared the battery stats in CWM, and after a few more battery pulls and reboots at the Samsung logo I left it alone while plugged into the AC charger. Came back 45 minutes later to a warm handset with a black screen and after holding the power button down for a good 15-20 seconds I booted normally into CM with a 12 percent charge.
Because I was able to get into CWM and download mode just fine (and run off battery for a few minutes), I was starting to think I broke CM. Glad I didn't get punchy and reflash.
And yes, you're right about amps, I was implying amp-hours with the wrong term.
hello,
I started charging my tab, it got charged till 99% and then i kept on charging it but it didnt went above 99% so i thought may be its because i am using the cell. So i switched it off and kept on charging , The battry icon was charging towards the end part (like the last 10% is getting charged) but in brownish yellow collor (sort of dark orange color) i kept it for charging in this way for like an hour.. Still when i turned on the tab, its 99%. Why so??
I havent rooted it yet! its total stock..
Bought it just 5 days ago..
About half the time, my tab will only go to 99%. Since it's only1% I've never given much thought to it, but I do experience the same problem from time to time.

I'm using a p3113. I've never noticed much difference in how long it lasts. Most days, my tablet will last all day whether it charges to 99% or 100%. You really shouldn't see any difference to speak of between a 100% charge and a 99% charge. I personally think it's an overcharge feature to keep it from overcharging. I've actually seen it jump from 100% to 99% one time. If that's the case, then it's a good thing. You could try to bump charge it like I've done to cellphones that won't fully charge. I really wouldn't recommend it since 1% is practically nothing.
Charge it up (powered on) until it's finished.
Unplug it, and turn it off
Plug it back in to charge (still powered off) again, until it says it's finished. It will continue to charge now.
Now unplug it and turn it back on.
Plug the charger back in (powered on) and charge until it says it's finished.
Keep doing this until when you have it powered on, it should say 100%.

The battery charging end is defined with two parmeters: the battery voltage reach a voltage close to 4.2 V and the battery charging current gets under 200mA ( a value I have estimated on my 5110 model) .
If for some reasons the residual current do not get under this limit value ( # 200mA) while the maximum battery voltage is reached , the state of charge stay screened at 99% !!!!!
The 4.2V battery voltage is a safety limit that a Li-Ion battery should not exceed. Most often the battery voltage is stabilized close to this value at the last stage of the charging cycle and the internal charging progam decide that the charging cycle is finished when the battery current gets under a predifined value.
I have given some examples of charging cycles of different smartphones in my blog : http://78michel.unblog.fr (sorry most examples are in french).

I think it is better for the battery life to stop charging if the state of charge level stay on 99%, because the charging current is maintained continuously in the battery and I think this is not so good for the battery life.
You can check the battery current in the battery with diffrents battery monitoring systems. I use Battery Monitor Widget. This is very convenient app. to analyse the charging cycle and the draining of the battery.
Analysis of my 5110 here: http://78michel.unblog.fr/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-tests/
The screen of these tablets is the most current draining component. At max screen brigthness the battery life is a less than 6 hours on my 5110. The brightness should be setted as low as possible to improve battery life, other componenet such as WiFi... GPS have very low impact on the battery life.....
I just got a battery from etradesupply and now im having some issues with charging and fast drain. The battery will charge like normal up to 100% but if i power the phone off it will start charging for another 15 mins before full. After it's full and i power up it will show 85-90%. Ive done this cycle about 5 times. The battery also drains the first 10% in about 10mins after i unplug it then it will slow down. Just strange that even with these problems the battery life is about the same if not a bit better than the old battery. Im rooted running 5.0.1. I might try a fresh factory install when i have time. Anyone have suggestions before i try that?
bump...any ideas?

I'd say try to wipe everything on your device and flash the stock factory image first and see how it goes to rule out a software issue. If it still does not help then should be the battery.

When the battery first reaches 100% it's actually not done charging yet, it takes about 30mins afterwards before the juice stops flowing. If you unplug during that time it is normal for the battery to drop to show you the true charge level. Could that be what's happening here?
Try keeping it plugged in over night and then the next day it shouldn't drop by more then 1 or 2% (trickle charge kicks in around there).
i think my phone has some serious problems and i'm wondering if it's the battery dying or a short circuit
when i plug it on a charger while of it shows a normal charging image but how it switches from one animation to the other so i can see the status of battery percent it's like a short on the screen happened
it chargers to 100 but when i switch it on it shows mybe 95 but never 100 and if i connect it to a charger to get to 100 it only decreases
it gets warm now days which did not happen and it like drains 50% overnight which is obviously not normal. these two days the battery life is like 4 hours with internet wich with j7's battery it should not happen. if i switch it off and then on again i loose like 20% of battery and if that is all i had i get 0% and the phone doesnt switch on. the phone never had contact with water . it's been 4 days since this started and it happened all of sudden like today my phone stays up to two days at most and i just woke up it barely finishes a day without data and with power saving mode
i'm sure it's not about background apps or any activities because i hard reset it already and i don't have any app. and it's not about wifi or sync or poor network i tried all that. i did everything it didnt help. i could buy a new battery but i'm scared it might be a short because i don't think a battery can just die in one night like this.
can anyone help me with this or it's nothing serious and i have to change the battery

i had a habbit of charging my phone when i sleep and unplug it in the morning and i always switched it off while charging. never used it while charging
