The code is released! - Fairphone 2

Hi Everybody,
Fairphone released the code to FairPhone OS at http://code.fairphone.com
Klaus

are there any news regarding the development of cyanogenmod for the FP 2?

No news, unfortunately. We will probably have to wait until somebody knowledgeable owns this device... And then there's still the issue with the license of the blobs. This will definitely take some time

it started
hey, someone just started extracting the blobs and compiled the CM Recovery, which worked.
flashing the full ROM failed although.
but there is hope now!

[KERNEL][MT6732] Elephone P6000 Kernel Source Code

Hey there everyone!
So I was just scouring the Internet, as usual, and I came across something unusual on the Elephone download servers: P6000_sourcecode.tar.gz. Of course, as a MediaTek fan, and one who is always campaigning for MediaTek to release their sources (you can see that on my blog at AllDroid Reviews), I immediately grabbed the file and took a look. :cyclops:
You can get the source code here: http://www.droidagency.com/elephone-p6000-source-code-2208/
Have fun playing with it, because as a basic ROM builder/modifier, I have no idea yet how to compile it/compile a ROM. I will try though, and will probably use CM12 as a base ROM.
If anyone has any idea if it is the full kernel source code, ROM code, or anything, please do leave a comment on this thread! :fingers-crossed:
There's an error during extracting the archive on linux.
It builds fine though, however haven't tested if it boots, because the device is not mine and I don't plan working on that kernel.

That's great news! You can try posting the built kernel to the forum at bbs.elephone.hk, the developers there will be more than willing to test it. :good::laugh:

Problems with ROM

Hello everybody. I've made XenonHD 6.0 from sources: TeamHorizon, but I'm unfortunately facing issues while booting up. That I can't get past boot animation! ROM was built just fine. Here's the device tree I've used: My device sources branch 6.0, you will find other dependencies in xenonhd.dependencies, same sources work with other ROMs tho. Dunno what's the issue here. I've also made a logcat for the error. (It is too big to be uploaded to pastebin or hastebin, sorry). Someone please help me out!
Thanks.
P.S. It is bootlooping just like lots of other ROMs bootloop, i.e. DARKOBAS, SULTANXDA's, AOSPARADOX. My system is PVS8, updated to CM13 modem. Using TWRP3 (with Firmware backup and restore support)
Looking forward for some good support
Regards

Abandoned Alpha - Device config for FP2

Hello everybody,
I tried to build a device config for my Fairphone 2 but ended up giving it up as I didn't have enough time (and skills). I didn't even have the time to test it. I pushed the sources to my github account for anyone to continue developing:
https://github.com/kaibutsu
Sources:
oppo n3 config:
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_oppo_n3
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_oppo_msm8974-common
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_oppo_common
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_qcom_common
Fairphone 2 OSS source:
http://code.fairphone.com/
Maybe I'll pick this up at some point. Just wanted to share before it's going to be forgotten.
Thanks for sharing this! :good: How far did you get with using this device config?
There also is a cm device repo on github: keesj/cm12-device-fairphone-fp2 which claims to produce a bootable recovery. How does this compare to your configs?
best news i heard in quite a while!
Some people are trying to build a working port of Cyanogenmod to the Fairphone 2

Porting B2G to moto g3

Hi Folks,
I'm trying to port B2G to my moto g3. I was referring to this doc (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Archive/B2G_OS/Porting_B2G_OS/basics). However some of the things mentioned in this doc are not clear to me. Could you please help me with the below issue.
I'd like to build the AndroidKernel from source. So where should I include the below lines? Is it in this file?
https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_motorola_osprey/blob/cm-14.1/rootdir/etc/init.target.rc
HTML:
on early-init
start ueventd
import /init.b2g.rc
Also if I understood correctly. building the kernel from source doesn't require to unpack , edit the init.rc file and repack the kernel from the device. Could you please confirm this?
Thanks,
Arun
Hi Arun,
I totally understand your frustration with this. You'd like to contribute to the Servonk project but first you need to port B2G to your phone or buy a new phone. Since the only other supported phones are the Z3 compact and Nexus 5, both of which are still relatively expensive secondhand, you want to use your Moto G3 which means first porting B2G to it.
So, I think there are two options you have:
1. Port direct from the AOSP code
2. Port from the CM12 code.
As Gerard said in telegram, porting from CM to B2G was never finalised so may actually require more work. However there may actually be more people here who can help you since people seem more familiar with CM than AOSP (in general, I know some people are very knowledgeable in both).
I see you've posted in the AOSP 7.1.1 kernel thread. Unfortunately, for the Servonk project you currently need a Lollipop based build, so 5.x AOSP kernel or CM12.x.
It might be worth asking a mod to move this thread into one of the development sub-forums.
As you know, this is the limit of my knowledge, but I really hope you find some success, if would be great if you could contribute to the Servonk project.
Your last option is to use the desktop build of Servonk, based on Glutin instead of Gonk, but I understand that you really want to get Servonk working on your phone.
Best of luck

Yup I used the normal repo commands (I don't remember properly as I started compiling it 1.5 year ago)
SORRY for if any wrong sources aye!
Hi
Is ROM better than @ud4's 8.1.0 ROM? I currently have @ud4's and there an issue where some apps (like RedReader, Magisk Manager stable, Play Store, etc...) won't launch; they just show a blank screen. Does this ROM also have that issue?
Thanks
