The best roms for battery life are the original htc sense roms. Have you tried one of those? Also, have you tried cleaning the battery contacts?

[Q] sensation roms or mods for excellent battery life

can anybody recommend any roms or mods that will help my sensation gain excellent battery life? ive tried multiple roms on gb and ics and still have had no luck. more recently ive tried ordroid, android revolution, and aokp build 37. with multiple kernels and the xxxpachaxxx-take-batterylife mod and still no luck. i can average about 9-10 hours with moderate usage but i really am looking for about a full 24 hours. is this even possible? ive had multiple phones in the past and there were a few i was able to gain excellent battery life on. for example mytouch4g on a few miui and cm7 roms could get me almost 36 or more hours, now i did keep data off when i wasnt using it, but im doing the same for my sensation and still no luck. is there anyone out there who has any recommendations or answers for me. i realize that not every chip is created equal but this is my second sensation, did i just answer my own question??? thanks in advance
hi,
Did you try ORDroid rom? I think is the best rom in terms of battery life/performance.....
I'm sorry if this an offence to anybody but with my experience it is not. Try hypernonsense for battery.
Also I've seen a mod in the dev section somewhere which brings about good battery but a large sacrifice is required, if you chose the power saving option that is. It only ever has one core running I believe at 1.5ghz ( the processors' true power ).

Check out one of my last posts.there's a link to a very useful battery guide. It helped restore my battery "life".
Also, newer phones use more power. Extended batts. Help this but eventually it will take new tech.nuclear powered phones would last a while.
I'm using a 1900mAH anker battery combined with virtuous inquisition 4.02 gives 24 hours easily. In fact my record was still on 62% after 24 hours
No other ROM comes close. You have to upgrade the battery though as well, which is dirt cheap for the anker.
Definitely up grade your battery ! I use Anker. It's much better than stock! When you switch from rom to rom, go into recovery with 100% full battery and plugged into charger, wipe battery stats from recovery then unplug charger. This will help with the battery life. Hope this helps you. As for Roms I'm currently using ordroid but the best battery life I ever got was from virtuous inquisition, likely because its a SENCELESS rom, I missed sence so I changed over to Ordroid. I wanted to give sence 4 a try. It's a give and take depending on what you want. If you don't care for sence and only care for battery life V.I. is the way to go. Hope I helped you

I'm currently using android revolution hd 6.6.5 and for my needs the battery life is fine.
I have to agree that with OrDroid my battery got drained a lot faster so I switched back to arhd Rom.
I have been on VI as well and it looks slick, mega fast and the best battery life of them all only I found a few bugs and switched back to arhd.
Still I'm used to sense now and ARHD is just the nicest Rom out there for me atm but that's just my opinion

I am running Elegancia ICS Sense 3.6 TMOUS_Edition_3.0.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663665) using the Bricked v1.1 kernel and am getting about 26 hours with light use and 18 hours with moderate use. In this day and age of power-hungry smartphones, I find this to be quite good!
U may use Faux's kernel on IntelligentDemond gavenor, it has good performence and long battery life.

[Q] Help !!!! ICS ? GPS? BATTERY

Hi guys , a new noob here out in this forum and I ve got to say thanks
for XDA, it helped me solve lot of problems
I got my sensation 2 months back and i am new to android, this is my
first android.
Well I have some few question that are unresolved so I am posting about
this .
First thing is universal problem - the battery , well on standby its
lasting like 14 hrs - wats your standby time?? and if I play games it lasts 5 hrs max .. is this normal?
But from the past 2 days on stand by my battery
is draining out like anything its lasting only 3-4 hrs on standyby - any
ideas on y this is happening or any app to monitor which app is
draining out my battery , I restarted like 10-15 times but still the
same
Shall i update to ICS (official update), i ve heard lot of pros and cons , I am from
India any suggestion whether to go or not
Gps isnt working without Internet Connection , I have saved offline
google maps but that aint working , any help on this one
Camera lags a bit . usually have to wait 4 seconds to get the picture clarity
EDIT : My sensation came with 8gb memory card and it has lot of memory occupied and i dono for what (like in .data ,.android_secure folders etc) . I want to use 16gb memory card . should i copy all the data which my card contains? like after factory set my card occupies around 3-4gb should i copy all that data
I would be happy to see my queries resolved here .:fingers-crossed:..
THANK YOU XDA :good:
Upgrade to ICS
then check gps and camera issue that you are having
as you are on GingerBread SOFF will be easy for you
here follow this guide to the letter ..starting from SOFF
(even though guide explains flashing ARHD rom ...the procedure can be applied to any rom )
Also change out stock battery for a extended battery.Anker makes a great extended battery and it's about ten dollars . Mugen also makes a great battery, the 3800mah is the one I got and can get two days with heavy use out of the battery.but most people prefer Anker as it is much more affordable where the mugen is 95 dollars. But either way a extended battery will benefit you greatly. You can find Anker online from amazon. You will not regret changing to a extended life battery, it will make a great difference for you!

For the battery issue. My suggestion would be that have a deep look around in Google Play. There are some good applications you can use to find out what drains your battery. As you mentioned your device is 2 month old so I doubt it was a hardware issue. I assume it is an application related problem. Something might run in the background. You can also try to remove the battery for couple of minutes, then put it back, power up your device and see if the problem still exists. In worst case scenario you could do a factory reset. That will put your device back to the original, factory state. Remember to backup your messages, phonebook... etc. before proceed! I hope your issue will be solved!

Thanks buddy ... I dont want to reset . I ve got like 120 apps which i cant reinstall again very difficult. searched play store there are some apps but they are jus showing statistics instead of showing which app consumed my batttery..
How about going to settings and check the battery use there? That should tell you as well what consume the battery. Give it a try! And I think Google Play should backup all your apps, so when you reset your phone then go to Google Play it should reinstall all your apps again. But I am not 100% sure about that. If your device was rooted you could use Titanium Backup for this. 120 apps??!! Maybe it's just me who using 15-20... [Q] HTC One X battery Life

Hey Guys,
I didn't know where to ask this question so I made a new thread here.
My question is that which ROM should I use for best battery life??
I have tried most of the ROM in the two sections. But all ROMS drain battery so much. I have tried different Kernels as well. Nothing improved.
Please let me know if you have any in mind. I'll give it a try. Most of the roms work 9 hours max. I'm looking for more than that.

Screen on time/Radio on time are the killers if you use your radios and/or keep the screen on a lot, that makes sense.
With Viper and bulletproof give me an average of about 14 hours with about 2 hours of screen on time and 3 hours of Bluetooth headphones + Tune in Radio.
If you're using your phone a lot then no rom will help you. AOSP roms will not have as good battery as Sense but still pretty decent.
Invest in a pocket charger or one of those extended battery cases.

I dont use radio or anything else. Only thing i use is texting or calling. or some times games.
Screen uses the most battery.
Will the HTC ONE rom help?? Sense 5?

I got a decent battery life out of an old CoreDroid ROM but that decreased over time to a point where the phone was not usable further away from a charging point so I switched to Cyanogenmod and have a decent battery life again.
Question
OK then.
I've got a question: How long you own Desire S?
Maybe, you've an old battery which have worse battery life...
Use a sense ROM usually you will get better battery life, also check your battery if it has started to phisically change (in the middle of battery you may have a discrete bump) if this is the situation than don't use that battery because that may physically damage your phone, sorry for my bad English

[Q] Which ROM for best battery life?

Hello,
it's been two years where I used my HTC Sensation the last time (I'm on M7 now) and now my mother want to use it.
Because I have absolutely no idea which ROM I should use for her I'm asking here.
At the moment ViperS 5.3.0 is installed, but my mother complains about the bad battery life.
So I'm searching for a ROM with the best battery life.
She is just using a weather app and whatsapp sometimes + telephone app, so no performance is needed and I think a ROM with Sense and a lot of customization like ViperS isn't needed ^^.
Which ROM/kernel would you recommened?
She did not use it very often, most of the time the display is turned off (for days), but the battery is still empty after 1-2 days.
Android 4.x or 5.x? CM or Sense?
Thanks in advance.

Okay, thanks for your answer.
I thought Cyanogenmod is easier to use and more battery friendly than a Sense ROM?
ViperS will give you the best battery life. Check if there is any application eating the battery. If the phone has been without use for long time also the battery may be damaged.

Okay, that was unexpected.
I thought a ROM without Sense is more battery friendly.
I will have a look at this when I have time.
