ODYS Orbit (Snapdragon 410) twrp - help(ers) needed... - Android General

Hi guys,
as some of you may know, I own a ODYS Orbit Phablet, featuring a Snapdragon 410 SoC.
Because I am a flashoholic, after all, I need to get the device rooted, which seems to be impossible..
Without custom recovery (TWRP, I prefer), I will never be able to root it. So I need someone who can make one for me..
The minimalistic twrp source could help, I know, but my laptop does not fit the required features to build the twrp, properly.
(i3 2-core, 4GB, no Ubuntu - no cygwin or similar)
So it is easier to look for someone helps me..
I can give all the files you need to you, I hope, and you can please build my desired recovery.
But for now, I am searching for help... So, who wants?
Would be great to get twrp working there!
Hopefully and best regards
Marcus

The only thing I could suggest is trying the rooting methods of other phones until one works (or finding your own exploit). Of course for the update.zip ones you would need to recompile them for your device.
i figured it out actually, surprise to me.. he he
now i have another question, is there a way to install a compatible google market?
vending.apk keeps failing on the install
Grdm,
If you wouldn't mind explaining how you did it I am sure there are others who could benefit from your experience...
thanks!
I presume that I have the same tablet (at least i have the same specs), so it would be awesome if you could tell me how you made it through.

I'm also interested. Please share. Or PM.

for people trying to root mid7005 tablets with 2.1update1
look for {z4root } rooted my coby kyros tablet 2.1update1
I have tried to find 4zroot with no luck.
I have found references saying to download it from the Market, but that's why I need to root. So I can get the Google Android Marketplace.
Does anyone have a less cryptic answer as to where to find 4zroot?
Edited to add:
I figured it out. It's z4root, not 4zroot
Update2:
z4root did not seem to work. After running z4root successfully still can't load YouTube app or Vending.apk, as well as other apps that need root.

Blu Life One X2/ Mini - Development

Welcome.
Very short about me: Most of you know me as ieatgravity, I ported TWRP Recovery a little less than a year ago and was able to achieve root on the Life One X2. Since then I have developed guides, auto rooting tools, roms, and I maintain BLOX2.com a dedicated site for all Life One X2 and Mini Development. I apologize for the long absence. However it seems as if this community has really bloomed from where I left off. I want to thank EVERYONE who has supported this development for our phone over the last year, whether it be financially, simple encouragement, thanks, prayers, or you even helping develop something new. I tried my best to credit everyone involved, though many have come and gone we hope YOU will take an interest and try your hand at developing!
As of now we have all been using the first thread we had for our device as a catch all for development, apps, support, general q&a's. Though it has worked for us up until now, a few of us have decided that we should have a dedicated thread to development ideas, topics and questions to keep everything organized.
For now this thread will support both the X2 & Mini. So when you post, please specify the device.
Table of contents:
List of current development to date
Great "How To's" and Guides
With all of that said, here is a consolidated list of all development to this date. If you don't see something on here please let me know and I will update it.

In the next post I will go over methods we have used to create everything. If you have any recommended methods on porting or how to do something feel free to add them. I will be updating and adding to this OP as new things come to light. Feel free to use this thread to post questions about or to show off your new development.

Personally I haven't tried. As I'm still running on marshmallow, but from what I gathered from the wiko thread i started months ago the auto root tools were not successful. So for the time being there is no root for 7.1.1
I confirm we can't flash anything in fastboot mode on ufeel prime 7.1.1.
We are looking for since September. Impossible to root.

Has anyone attempted using Kingroot.apk (NOT KINGOROOT) to root then use a root flasher like flashify, rashr, official twrp app, to flash the custom recovery. From there root using magisk manager patch the boot.img, reboot into twrp then flash the patched_boot.img to boot partition. While still in TWRP, navigate to the kingroot.apk location within /system/app. Delete the kingroot.apk and reboot. At this point you should have a working systemless root without the sketchiness of using kingroot.
If anyone has the time to test this out let me know the results please.

Hi ieatgravity ? about yours drax rom, does it work on wiko U Feel Prime? Maybe it's a dummy question but I have my doubts so it's better to ask you (OP) I think ? thanks in advance
Hi guys. I tried another thing in my Ufeel. One week now I have it with Red Wolf custom recovery and Viper_garlic rom 7.1.2 both for Yureka Black running. Everything works fine only with the recovery not. It's working but not 100%? I'm not a developer and I don't have the knowledge and tools for see what can do to better working. I thing sharing this with you guys it's important. And maybe someone with the knowledge (and time) want to see it. I try to get logs from the problems.
ps. Sorry for the bad English ?
New OTA update in France this morning. Version V39, always android 7.1.1. No bugs anymore with delay for unlock phone at reboot. Now fastboot devices is detected but always impossible to unlock. All commands says "unknown command"
Hi guys ? I found one thread for another wiko and it have the same problem but they found a way. I think maybe works for we to but I have no time ( work and new family member ?) maybe someone want to try
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/root-how-to-root-wiko-view-t3740005
Ps- I tried the "Tinno" code in another wiko in nougat and it worked. Hope this is useful
Hello everybody, I just got the BLOX2 Mini and wanted to start working with it. I can see this thread hasn't been updated and that the blox2.com web is down. Can anyone direct me to the best resource available in order to unlock, install TWRP, root, etc. in the Mini, either in XDA or elsewhere? I noticed there's a long thread on the regular sized BLOX2 but I am not completely sure if what is available there will work in the mini.
Thanks!
Lineage 16 for Blu Life One X2 Mini?
Hi ieatgravity,
Are you still out there?
I'm wondering if Lineage 15 or 16 is also available for the Blu Life One X2 Mini?
Best daraabi

Intel Atom x86 SOC, how hard is it to load rom from a different atom z25xx device?

I am on a Asus trio tx201la INTEL x86 tablet on android 4.2 on the tablet part. I researched that The zenfone 5, dell venue 7 and the samsung galaxy tab 3 10.1. All have the same intel atom z2560 cpu soc and some are running Android 7 & even 8 now.
The Galaxy tab 3, zenphone 5 got a lot more attention and thus a lot more custom rom attention. Dell venue and my Trio got little to no attention due to poorer sales.
The galaxy tab 3 has been updated to 7.1.1 see:
http://techbeasts.com/install-android-711-nougat-galaxy-tab-3-101-lineageos-141/
Now How can that help the Trio? I found this tool, but no flash.xml so no luck using it:
https://01.org/android-ia/downloads/intel-platform-flash-tool-lite
Here is a guide on how to use it: http://www.aryk.tech/2016/04/how-to-flash-stock-firmware-using-intel.html?m=0
This is all NEW as of 2017. So its not been available before this.
The TX201LAF a french tablet version of the TX201LA is in the same boat but it at least it is on 4.4. Its kernel firmware is here: http://support.asus.com.cn/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=TX201LAF&p=3&s=587
My big question is with all these roms for x86 atom z2560 & z2580 soc's shouldn't I be able to get an updated rom somehow? I imagine that would involve building a rom myself but if the base soc is the same isnt it possible to build the rom for a different device and use a different kernel source like I linked above? The kernel source has the drivers I need right, for the device to run? Ive heard a lot of people talk about you wont get the touch panel to work or the wifi. I understand that but isnt it all loaded from the kernel source? So basically if I have kernel source and grab an updated rom from lineage 7 for the galaxy tab 10.1 and replace the kernal i'm good to go right? I know there is more to it but really looking for some help here?
Even if I can just get the tx201laf image to load on my tx201la that would be
something, its an update from 4.2 to 4.4. Both devices are identical, so that should make it a lot easier right? Looking for any insight to xda experts can provide.
Hi ! I'm still using my trio so I'm very interested ! Did you succeed ?
Thks a lot
no luck yet
I had hopes that this would turn out to work but you cant use the intel flash tool without a flash.xml which is written for the device. SO that stopped me dead in my tracks.
I recently found this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/efidroid-t3447466/page37
Hoping this dev will give the tx201la a shot. There is also this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...g/tool-multirom-recovery-replacement-t3102395
Do you realize how simular the tx201la is to just about every zenphone made since the newest. IE almost all of those roms would likely boot on our tablet.
??
Any other input?
Come on guys, has everyone moved on to the shinny new toys?

Thanks for the tip. Now I need to find help up-streaming my kernel:
Device info: https://valid.x86.fr/a/wkb2d8
Kernel source: http://support.asus.com.cn/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=TX201LA&p=3&s=587
Could really use help doing that.. Total noob & trying to understand all the terminology.

Ok I checked out the Russian thread, which I cant believe I had never found, seriously what search engine do you use? Or are you Russian?
Anyway that lead me to this: https://cs5-3.4pda.to/10031052/20170404_145326.jpg?6c8bd0e99d5f5d5ce8c14e92c456565c
That might not mean much to many but its the TX201LA running the Asus memopad 10 android 4.2.2 and its actually working. So that is a huge deal.
Then I found this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/an.../rom-8-0-0-lineageos-15-0-unofficial-t3693838
There is a updated rom for the memopad 10. Now I hope I can get this rom to run with slight variations.. Will see..

Root the BMXC YS900

Hi guys,
I write here because my device does not have a known brand.
I'm talking about the BMXC YS900, from Singapore, bought at a great price and with hardware that would lead to a product gamers band, cpu octacore armv7 rev3 2.00ghz, 4GB ram, android 8.0.
In short, download mode & recovery mode are in Chinese characters and I would like to become ROOT on this device.
How do you advise me to proceed?
Have a good day
p.s.
I do not even know if the mode that is offered is the actual recovery / download mode or none of this.
I don't know chinese ...
Hi, I just bought the same tablet and started to look after rooting & flashing tools.
Almost no documentation, I don't think we can achieve a lot without the help of an advanced user
Please anyone here to help me with BMXC Y900 stock firmware (mt6580) Thanks.
Philips s410j tablet. Recovery page reads BMXC N107/ N107. it's MTK MT6762 processor. Anyone knows where to get the stockrom or custom ROM. Thanks

Root Teclast M18 Tablet.

Hy everyone (and sorry for my bad english),
I get acquired a Teclast M18 tablet.
It is under Android 8 Oreo and I would know if anyone tried to root this device using twrp+magisk (or if an unofficial LineagOS version is available).
On XDA forums/web searches I found some solutions for rooting the M16 model but I don't know if it is possible to use the same process for the M18.
Thank you in advance for you help.
Both your Teclast M18 and the Teclast M16 are based on same MediTek MT6797X chipset, hence the method to root it's Android you refer to should be applicable.
Thank you very much for your quick reply.
Indeed, I was a little afraid to soft-bricking the tablet after reading this post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rooting-a-teclast-m16.4064499/).
I'll try the method on this page (https://www.getdroidtips.com/root-teclast-m16/) and I'll get back to this post to give a feedback (it seems that TWRP is not required to root this tablet).
Have a nice day.
