Here is my situation, my phone is HTC myTouch 3g...I wanted to lessen the internal or system's space but can't find the right software to do it in Market so I played with my phone and what I did is restart chosing "Recovery". When I reached prompts and commands area I chose to wipe out battery memory (don't know what was the exact term but something like that)...so now, my battery won't charge plus when I did "Reboot Recovery", the phone won't start as if it wipes out all the system! So now, I'm hanging on for 30 minutes or so but nothing happened when I turned my phone on, it just shows HTC Magic and nothing else. I wonder how to fix this problem. My phone won't even connect to the PC via USB or even if I plug it through AC charger.
OK, so I figured out how to go to the Clock Recovery but still, it won't boot! Help!
Full Wipe
Wipe Cache
go to mounts and storage
format boot
format system
format data
go back to main menu
install .zip from SD Card
flash CM from there and reboot.
Replacing rom in HTC HD2 NAND
hi, new to this rooting stuff. Got android rom loaded on NAND of my htc hd2. This not like this rom so i want to try a new rom. My question is do i have to erase my phone or do anything to it before i flash a new rom. thanks.
Problem Solved but...
Here is what I did to the problem:
1. I downloaded Cyanogen Mod 6 for my HTC Magic to my PC. I also downloaded the Google Tiny Apps. I put both into a newly formatted SD card (must be FAT32).
2. Since I still have the ClockWorkMod I restarted my phone by pressing the home and power button. I pressed install from flash from the options and it gave me options to open and install both of Cyanogen and/or Google Apps, I did Cyanogen update first then Google Tiny Apps. Note that there will be only two options. I forgot to write down the exact path name. The path names were obvious so you'll figure it out when you get there.
3. Just wait until the install is finished, look at the prompt in the screen until it says done.
4. Then reboot it using the options, just press the back button to go back to Clock's home screen.
Then it is done and solved.
BUT!!!!!! My problem now is that the backlight option is missing so my phone has no backlight now.........somebody help with that glitch???

What recovery do u have?
Pull the battery, then power up to boot loader or recovery so u can use volume buttons to navigate and power button to select ur way to "mounts and storage" and turn on USB mode.
If u cannot see anything at all then let us know what recovery u have so we can tell u how many volume button clicks u need to do and when to hit the volume button.
I use clock mod, so I can only help u if u have that... but someone else will come along to assist with the other recovery.
Good luck
Vs Nexus S4G using tapatalk2
hey thank you for answering i almost sure that i have ClockworkMod Recovery...
so what i need to do ?
Do you per chance remember the version? Was it touch recovery or not? This changes how many clicks you have to do. I've helped a few people with that, but it's important you try to remember or find out which one you have so we can help you. Otherwise I can give you both directions, but there's always the slight possiblity you'll end up doing something wrong.
i think it was 5.1 if im not worng.. no touch thats 4 sure

And if you unplug it then replug it, does the drive disappear then re-appear? Just to make sure it's the right removable disk and not another one.
Edit: You need to unplug and replug once you have navigated to the right section in CWM.
yes tried that, didnt work.. and he did that only in the first time
can you send me print screen ?
or any other way ?

I cannot take screenshots in recovery, you know.
For the computer part, I'm at work and I have very little time. I help people in between actions here and there.
Once you can boot into CWM and connect the phone to computer, there is a possible chance to use ADB to copy files to and from the phone. Copy the entire 'sdcard' contents by typing:
adb pull /data/media C:\backup\
*you'll have to create a directory called backup first.
any alternative way please ??

Don't boot in CWM for adb though, just fastboot (VOL+ & PWR).
There's not much we can do for you azulay4u if you can't manage to navigate and mount the USB nor do you want to ADB pull your data. :/
Hello, i'm writing this hoping that you can help me. I have installed Slim-4.4.3 but have some problem:
Is that i don't have a SD card and can't figure out how to change de default path of camera (i have installed several the last one is Cymera wich i could set to internal but not a specific path ans syas "Storage is full" but i have 5 gb of free space) to the internal storage, and no, buying a SD is not a good option in this country.
I have used Slim_minimal_gapps.4.4.3.build.5.8-60 and Slim-edison-4.4.3.build.5.8-UNOFFICIAL-20140610-1535

Try JB+ Camera , there's an storagepath option
I realllllly mess up this time, well i enter Recovery mode (with bmm) and format everything (i was crazy) then in only boot till the 4 options(pressing volume keys + power button Normal boot,Revocery,AP fastboot and BosstTool) and someone burrow me an SD to flash it, but it turns out that give me the error of signature(in update from external, that is in recovery mode) then i learn that i have to use Rsd lite, i download everything, but the phone goes off so i put it to wall charge and i woke and is like nothig (the moto logo goes and keep in that way) i try to conect it to the pc and it shut down, also chargin from pc gives the white led, after 15min the logo appear, and goes black screen, but when i press the power+volume it shut down and it goes only to the white led, should i wait more with pc charging right? im impatient jeje.
It is possible since i format everything the part of charging also i mess it? So that's why it won't charge? If that so what can i do? The only solution i figure it's to find someone with my phone and change battery to flash and see if that works, but again Venezuela it's not a place were it's easy to find solutions, in this case someone with the same model
Thats FXZ rigth?
@KPatrix thanks but before i mess it everything i download an app to view my storage and it turns out that internal storage(something for apps right?) appears not phone storage(i was reading and this is were user files go), so i figure that somehow i was needing to create phone storage and all i could found in google were post related to unistall and that kind of stuff so didn't work to me. In this point i was able to find a solution?

What a mess ...
If it's not convenient for you to get a fully charged battery, can you buy a multi-purpose battery charger in your country? We can buy it everywhere and it's very very cheap!
After that, you can start your steps:
1.flash stock ICS rom
(2.get root
3.install BMM
4.wipe data &cache &DalvikCache &battery status
5.install a Rom zip you like)
You can only do Step1 if you want to use ICS, which is far more stable than unoffical ROMs -few bugs. I think a stable OS is quite necessary for you as your surroundings.
Before you flash, read a guide, follow it strictly.
And, good luck to you!
@KPatrix thanks for that quick response! I use to have stock but i founded lagy and the moved to JB the leaked version and also founded laggy (i guess that was because all the chinesse/motorola blootware) i recover my phone hurray! Again i try with Slimkat and the same result says i have 5gb of free memory but only to apps :S so while i'm writing this i'm downloading liquid-Kit-Kat but i found a video, althought i'm goin to put it in System 1 i'm not planning to add more rom, and starting to think that it needs something more to put it right isn't?
Also forgot to mention the way i have fixed the battery problem was mutilating ans usb cable, and don't come to Venezuela, i've try searching a more easy option to fix and the answers were: "No hay" (There's not) or waaaaaay to expensive
It's again in SlimKat, i've try liquid and still have the same error! Anyone can help to use the internal storage not only apps, i like to save pictures/videos, and it's a problem probably with the roms, so that could be kikat? Please i don't want to use JB or ICS

Glad to see you've solved your other problems.
Unfortunately, this is one that you can't. That data partition that is not the same as having an internal SD card. It only stores apps, app data, etc.
That mean that is not possible to use Internal storage to save images after flashing with a custom rom? Or if i put it in another partition leaving the stock on SYstem 1 will work?
I give up, really, i put SlimKat on System 3 and still can't save images :S, but the main System can (ICS stock). So if there are not posibles solutions that doesn't imply buying something i'm done, thanks anyway for the answers, i will keep visiting this for a posible solution

Maybe your Atrix 2 is different from mine (AT&T) because the internal storage on mine is for apps and app data only. It won't save pictures, music videos, etc to that storage space. An external SD card is required for that.
Probably, mine is not an At&T version and i can use the remaining 4gb or to store apps and music but that only happens in ICS stock, on Slimkat unfortunatley i can't i will leave for a week or so to see if a i can't find a solution.
SOmethin that i forgot to mention on BMM says "unable to mount /int" it has something to do with my problem, then i flash it to stock->root->bmm and stil have the error :S, but it has something to do with that isn't?
Do i need a sd card on my (At&t) Atrix 2 to flash a rom. Im rooted but waiting for a sd card to come in. Can i just flash then insert the card afterwards.

If you have no SD card, where are you going to put the ROM zip that you intend to flash? The AT&T models definitely don't have an internal SD card so, unfortunately, you'll have to wait.

I'm not sure about that error. Try this (if possible both on stock and on custom ROMs) to look for your internal storage. Using a root enabled file explorer, go to the root of your device and look through the folders. There are a few places you're likely to find it. Could be one of the following, among other names.
/sdcard
/mnt/storage/sdcard
/storage/sdcard
/sdcard0
/mnt/storage/sdcard0
/storage/sdcard0
Also if it has both sdcard0 and sdcard1, then those will be your internal and external SD cards. Internal being the "0" and external being the "1". If it shows both then whichever your model is must have an internal SD card, and I will have learned something new. :sly:
I have /sdcard on stock and can access it appear whatssap, downloads, music etc... on the rom nothing appear and they have the iqual permissions.
I have to say that i'm going to debt to buy an SD of 8gb, in the next few weeks (this country is like this unfortunatly) but the doubt is interesting isn't? So thanks anyway!
Will slimkat go on my at&t a2 or do us at&t owners have to stick to certain roms?
hi every one :fingers-crossed:
in this simple guide i will explaind you how to start yor galaxy s7/s7 edge normaly if its stuck at black screen, basicaly its not bricked dont worry about that
1- you need to plug your phone on pc and press and hold the power button and volum - for 15 second when your phone vibrat then release the buttons.it should start normaly now if dont then go to next steeps
2- repeat the same way but instead the volum - hold the volum +
3- unplug phone from pc and enter on recovery mode with power button and volum - and home button, chose wipe cache partiton and reboot your phone.your samsung galaxy s7/s7 edge will work fine,if not then go the latest step
4- flash your phone with stock firmware
for s7/s7 edge go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/collection-firmware-rom-pit-files-t3326706 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-...n-sm-g935f-t3337890/post65870598#post65870598 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/firmware-file-pit-galaxy-s7-s7-edge-t3345885
hit :good: if it helped you
This isn't totally clear. The title says "without flash" but step 4 says "flash your phone with stock firmware."
3 ways to get the solution without flash it,if not,you must flash it but there is already 3 ways try them
I found that the only thing that worked was to reformat my sd card.
I backed it up to a pc at which stage I found that some photos were unreadable. I have a strong feeling these corrupt files were causing the issue.
What I did:
1. Performed a backup of the sd card on a computer.
2. Formatted the card.
3. Put thefiles back on.
4. Put the card back into the phone.
5. Restarted handset.
Now, two weeks on, not a single lockup!
Enjoy.

First i thought it was the sd card also but after testing it a few months now i believe it has something to do with the App Power Saving mode that is turned on by default where some apps cant handle it and it will freeze your phone. When i turned this feature off the phone seems to work fine while it used to lock up a couple times a day.
Tny that works for me. Good man
Hello all, as the title says, I'm new, both to the site and android rooting in general.
I used the latest sunshine to s-off, although now i read that that wasn't necessary. What I'm trying to do is get rid of the bloatware on my phone and gain a little more control over the device itself. It is a verizon phone on the tmobile network and things like verizon vm and the verizon cloud apps and such are really just taking up space.
So the question is, now that I have s-off'd the device, where do I go next? I managed to get TWRP on there, but I just don't know where to go from there. Yes, I searched the site, Yes I searched Google, and yes, I prayed to the Skating Droid of Legend.
Any advice would be great. All of the information i have found on my own is about 2 years old.
If you already S-OFF'd it, and even got twrp going, I recommend the only thing left to do is downloading a ROM from the Android Development section (in ZIP format), saving it to your phone's internal memory or external sd card, then flashing it via twrp. That way you will have a rooted, pre-de-bloated phone. In my case, the ROM I liked best and that worked fine for me was S-ROM-JW-5.2.5 (doanloaded from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...ment/romthe-worlds-100-m9-1-32-401-8-t3065304).
I personally selected "Global" during the flashing options, as I do not use Verizon network (I live in Brazil currently). But even so, you can change to/from Global and Verizon (and something else) in the Android settings after you are already set up.
To flash, first place the ZIP file in your phone (do not unzip it). Either internal storage or external sd-card. Then turn the phone off, unplug it (make sure you have plenty of battery like 40% or more just to be safe). Then turn the phone back on booting into twrp (power + down vol, then select Recovery, then Power). Then select "Flash ZIP" and navigate to your ROM ZIP file select it and follow the prompts. Choose "full wipe" when prompted (this will only wipe internal storage system files and apps and such and not your external sd card). After flashing finishes, just let the phone reboot (you can select Reboot while still in the twrp recovery mode).
Do not panic during first boot, it takes several minutes in the HTC logo (like some 5 or 10 minutes) until Android itself shows up and starts building itself into your phone and booting up properly.
Please proceed carefully and just to be safe, before flashing the ROM, make a full BACKUP (theres the Backup utility inside twrp) and save the backup to your external sd card or PC. That way you can recover using that backup if needed (but you should be ok).

That's extremely helpful, thank you very much.
It turns out that Verizon is much better in my area than T-Mobile, so I wont be removing all the stuff I originally wanted to, however anything that gives me more options and power should I choose to wield it, is a welcome addition.
Thanks again.
