I have installed cm-13 on my yuphoria. But on activating the developer option, the recovery option in reboot is not working. I tried flashing the rom of cm-13 and cm-12 but in vain. I badly want the opengapps to be installed. Without Play Store, I am finding it difficult to install packages. Apks do show up as icons, but fail to respond, while in operation.

CM13 is in Alpha stage now, so there'll be bugs for sure, which will be fixed soon..
To boot into recovery, flash TWRP first using Flashify app and then type the following in Terminal Emulator to reboot into recovery:
Code:
su
reboot recovery
Then flash GApps.zip

download TWRP 2.8.1.1 zip for TF101.
Boot into recovery and choose 'Install'
search for your downloaded signed_twrp-2.8.1.1_tf101.zip and flash it.
I assume you have no working ROM installed, so this part is a bit different from normal
Now choose 'Reboot'(a warning pops up that no ROM is installed), and don't install root (we do that later).
While rebooting, you will notice a progressbar. When the progressbar is finished, you have to force a reboot to the recovery (since you are without a working ROM, nothing else will work anyway).
you should now have twrp 2.8.1.1 (look in the statusbar on top of the screen)
from here it is straight forward:
flash Katkiss, Supersu and gapps in that order.
if things still does not work I find it useful to format data (not just wipe). especially useful when coming from another ROM
I recently just rooted my phone (Nexus 6) and added custom ROM and custom back up for CM12 but when everything booted up there were no Google apps and I cannot download any apps as well bc there is no play store? How do I get Gapps on my phone without having to use a PC bc I got through this whole process without one so I need to finish it likewise and plus I do not have a computer yet.

To avoid future confusion are you on cm12.0 or cm12.1? Gapps packages are available as a zip package which you flash in recovery just like a ROM (but over the top, after ROM install ).
If you can work out the one you want without further help from me, I recommend slim gapps. Just pick the correct one you want, download on phone to storage and flash in recovery.
Ok so I am currently running cm12.1 and I have downloaded a zip file for the gapps but of course its not compatible with any of CM12.1's stock apps. So the question is how do I correctly flash in recovery and get the gapps file unzipped.
also when I try to flash it it in recovery my twrp is not loading up. It says "cyanogen Recovery" Im not sure hwats going on but what can i do excatly

Why would it not be compatible? All GApps are are things like sync and more surface level apps like YouTube. Link me the exact package you downloaded and I'll tell you if its ok. Just do a nandroid backup and flash, the worse that can happen is that it doesn't work and you have to restore.

So when i hold down the power button its gives me the option to reboot and i choose reboot then it says recovery or bootloader and i go to recovery. Instead of Twrp its just boots to "cyanogen recovery" and when im there i pressed install update because i want to install the gapps (I have the gapps zip file in my download folder) but after i press it it just says install failed and it prompts me back to recovery screen.
so i pressed reset on accident now i do not have anything on my phone expect for the cm12.1 because I checked the file manager and all my other twrp dowloads are gone as well as everything.
SO am i screwed or can i recovery from this failure.
Mind you i have a nexus 6

So you mean you have no ROM to boot into?
I'm not familiar with Cyanogen recovery... try to see if you can flash the ROM from the "install update" option.
If this succeeds, I recommend flashing TWRP as this will present far fewer issues than Cyanogen recovery.
Will I need a computer?

For which part? If you can boot into Cyanogen recovery, and you have the ROM zip file on your phone, then flash that using "install update" in recovery then boot it. If that works I'll guide you from there.
For the TWRP part, possibly. Some phones work fine just with the TWRP app.
Okay can you boot into a working ROM or not? if you can then don't worry, it's an easy fix. Alright so since you factory reset your device you'll have to go into settings and enable developer options and enable root. Once you did that download TWRP Manager and install TWRP for your Nexus 6. Now you're rid of that useless CyanogenMod recovery (only thing you can do with that is factory reset and install CM). Then redownload whatever Gapps you had tried to flash and flash them over CM12

So I downloaded the apk TWRP and it would not let me install the latest version (maybe because that was the one i installed orignally before i reset the phone) but it let me download the one right before the newest one "Twrp-2.8.7.0-shamu.img" to be excat. And prior to this i had already downloaded the slim Gapps as a zip ( i used the link that "HTCDreamOn" gave me on earlier in the thread) and they are located in my downloads folder.
Boom so i reboot the phone into recovery and finally Twrp recovery pops up instead of the cm recovery so thats good news but when i pressed install to flash the gapps they were not there in fact next to internal memeory it said "0 MB". so why is it saying i have nothing in my memory. I mean the download folder didnt even show up
Can you make a backup? What I mean is, does TWRP function otherwise or does everything say 0mb? When you go into the "mount" section is data checked?

do I just need to download cm12.1 and gapps again and just wipe and backup then flash

Mac Os X - adb tool and fastboot installed.
Xperia S lt26i
I had the 4.1.x Android version, and I wish to install the Lollipop 5.1.1 version.
For doing that I need to install a ROM.
To install a ROM It may be usefull to have a recovery tool.
I'm using TWRP 2.8.5.0 as a recovery tool.
Problem:
Each time I try to install the ROM uCyan-12.1-b05.zip or simpleAOSP.zip, I get the same error:
It hangs on
"detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/mmcb1k0p12"

After some research I found out that, this error may be related with this warning message that TWRP provides:
" Kernel does not have support for reading SELinux contexts"
After some other research, I found out that, in order to avoid the error, I should use a OLDER version of TWRP, for example: 2.8.0.1.
If this is true, and if this is my only way around, I don't know how to downgrade to the older version.
I tried:
Code:
"adb reboot bootloader"
But the device simply restarts, and get's loaded into TWRP again.
No blue light, nothing.
Without being able to enter on the bootloader mode, I don't know how can I re-install the older version of TWRP necessary to install Lollipop 5.1.1. as desired.
Can anyone please help me out.
I'm stuck.
If I remember right, you can flash TWRP from within TWRP itself.

I tried to select the older version of Flash TWRP and flash it, but it just refreshes and returns to the current (2.8.5.0) version.
Perhaps I'm not doing it right?
(Clicking on "Install", and then: selected the old ROM version, finally, I swipe to flash.)
Doesn't work, the version stays the same as before (2.8.5.0)

TWRP flashing
Hi, I once had this exact problem...
This worked for me:
Reboot into recovery, go to Install and install the version of TWRP that you need.
Go to Reboot and select Recovery.
The device should then reboot into the newly flashed version of TWRP.

if you cant using your bootloader, try to using rashr.apk. download twrp image based on your device, and then, flash it using that app. should be success for me. just try
Thank you all.
I solved by flashing something, just to enter the bootloader stage. Once there, I flash the older twrp.
.apk was not an option because I didn't had a OS.
I tried to flash twrp using twrp, but it did nothing.
Anyway, issue solved.
Thank you for your suggestions!

Then you are all set.
In the wipe menu, wipe /system and /data and /cache (this will nuke your data) to get rid of all leftovers that might have caused the bootloop.
Plug it into a PC, copy Cyanogenmod over (this time verify the sha1sum, against the one on the download website, to make sure the download is correct and did not cause the bootloop)
Install Cyanogenmod, without Gapps for the first test
Bootloop should be gone
If the bootloop happens again, you might need a newer version of TWRP, but 2.8.x.x should do the job.

on my moto g xt1033,
after, installing ROM CM-13.0-20160820-SNAPSHOT-ZNH5YAO0J1-falcon
Then i, installed Gapps = ARM_6.0_micro (opengapps.org)
then everything is fine play games, etc.
i installed super su from play store, but unable to update binary!
so boot into recovery and flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
now i stuck in boot loop,
(Earlier Point)now what to do?> and after installation of rom twrp asking me for partition modification- Keep Read-Only OR Allow Modification. i select allow modification. so where i go wrong?
NOw stuck in boot loop, i can able to in Fastboot and select recovery also,
so what do i do, option 1-> wipe everything n install rom , gapps again.
option2-> without wiping install rom (like doing overwrite) on already installed rom.
and also suggest how to ROOT? which superSU.zip i flash on cm13
I have TWRP 3.0.2-0 version working fine.
I saw an ancient Nexus S in a random drawer in my house. I figured It would be perfect for working out with since I have a Note 5 and it's a little big to carry around. I intended to use it for running only with endomodo. When I booted I noticed Cyanogen mod was installed. It booted up just fine but there was no play store. So like an idiot, I decided to just download the latest play store APK and install it. The app installed but crashed. I rebooted and now I'm stuck in a boot loop. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
You could boot to the recovery system, here you might be able to access all files, and you could try to remove the wrong apk. Alternatively just install the latest nightly version of CyanogenMod from April 2016, thus overwriting your operating system. Then install "gapps" for Kitkat (Android 4.4). There should be instructions on the CyanogenMod website or in this forum about which ones are valid. Make sure they are suitable for Android 4.4.4. You could also consider updating the recovery, if you like, before doing anything else. The latest working version is TWRP 2.8.7. Keep in mind that the device's nickname is "crespo", and do not install any binary that was built for any other device.
Perhaps it would also be sufficient to just reinstall the gapps using the recovery system. Make sure the gapps match the Android version.
So what would I do (brute force method)?
- Start device in recovery mode.
- Check recovery version. If it's not TWRP 2.8.7.0, install this one using the fastboot method, i.e. start device to bootloader, download TWRP to computer, install adb and fastboot on the computer and use the "fastboot" method to install the Recovery system (must be "twrp-2.8.7.0-crespo.img").
- Start TWRP
- Make a factory reset of the device
- Use computer to download latest CM nightly "cm-11-20160410-NIGHTLY-crespo.zip" and copy it to the device.
- Use computer to download suitable gapps package and copy it to the device
- Use TWRP to install both CM and gapps.
