I'm coming here to try and find out just how many other users are having the same problems as I have had.
The OnePlus that I have now is a RMA and it does not have the cyanogen logo in the back.
Anyway, I am not able to flash certain ROMs.
Omni, for example, I can not flash any omni ROM 5.1.1 or 6.0.1 and D.U.
I aslo can not change recoveries, I have twrp 2.8.7.0 but if I try and downgrade I can not do it. It boots into the OS. This is with fastboot, flashify toolkits ect. Now I can take a modified zip of say 2.8.6.0 material and flash it through recovery.
Its just strange and I know I'm not the only one. Didn't have these problems with the first device. Just the RMA.

Hi,
I bought almost not used, 12.2 for 200$, LTE, 32GB.
It's on 5.0.2
I have experience with many Samsung phones, but this gives me a headache.
I was able to root with chainfire, I have SuperSU installed and working.
I was able to flash old TWRP, number 2.8.0.0
_____________________________________________________________
I can't flash anything newer than 2.8.0.0 as it enters "entering recovery" bootloop.
I can't flash update to 3.0.0.0 as it doesn't come with *.zip file so I could do it in recovery.
I can't flash 2.8.7.0 zip from recovery, as I get "Failed"
Do I have to update bootloader for newer TWRP to work with?
How can I install Lineage, as flashing it fails also from 2.8.0.0 (I belive this twrp is too old, partition details are wrong or some permissions)
I now own S7Edge, I was using Galaxy: S, S2, S3, Note, Note 3, Note 4, S6Edge+... Never had such issues. Maybe it's that P905 is a device from Note 3 era, and my current knowledge is on pair with S7? Maybe back then we were doing things diffrently and I forgot? Please be so kind to help me out here.
Best regards!

edit:
So I thought to myself, why not to try and flash via odin, some newer versions of TWRP.
I was able to flash 2.8.4 and than 2.8.5.
I was still able to boot into recovery, so I went out and flashed 3.1.1, but last one is no go.
I than reflashed 2.8.7.
So this one is my current, and top one I can boot into. What is diffrent with 3.0? Im not sure, but assistance is needed !
SOLVED - use 3.0.2.0 - flash with ODIN or TWRP, doesn't matter.
Closed per OP request - solution found
Currently using TWRP 3.2.3-1 on my Pixel (sailfish). Followed this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/how-to/slota-b-how-to-flash-roms-magisk-kernel-t3754175
I'm aware it's for the XL, but I was hoping it might work for the regular pixel. It didn't. I rebooted after flashing Resurrection Remix Oreo and OpenGApps, didn't get that error from TWRP saying there's no OS installed like I usually do, so I figured it had worked. Nope. Bootlooped immediately after.
Does anyone have any solutions or other guides to flashing ROMs on the Sailfish?
Have you tried flashing any of the custom ROMs in the Pixel specific forum, following the instructions given there?
I have a 6045 that I could not get to run the Resurrection Remix ROM, probably due to the fact that it won't read TWRP 3+. Even with the older TWRP, running Linage 14.1 didn't recognize the sim card. So, I went with CM 12.1, abd GAPPS Nano; which has been fine. However I just got another 6045 that wouldn't unlock bootloader via Fastboot. I understand that they took away the option to unlock the bootloader via Fastboot. HOW UNSAVORY!! However I was able to use Sahara & Firehose Test to flash a later version (3.0+) of TWRP. I got RR to run on it, and WOW!! What a difference!! Reminds me of when I modded my first Huawei smartphone with CWM and CM7 back in 2010!! What a GREAT Rom!! I'm so satisfied with RR, everything is great!! My question is, How do I put RR on an older model of the 6045?? I haven't found a strategy. Does anyone on here know how to?? All thought and Ideas are welcome on this thread.
Were you able to get twrp on the idol 3?

Yes, on both devices....however one device wouldn't take the newer version of TWRP, and the older version won't flash RR, unfortunately.
I have been trying unsucessfully tryiing to install Havoc OS on my phone for 2 days now and I believe the common theme seems to be TWRP.
I have tried to install different versions of Havoc, and then other Roms too and all fail in the same place.
There is no error code.
I have also tried to install different versions of TWRP going from 3.4.0.0 to 3.3.1.79 to 3.3.1.70 and none of these work
The steps are not complex and I have followed them to the letter
the bootloader is unlocked and magisk got installed although not needed for this part.
I also tried to install the rom via USB OTG and didnt work
please assist I am having so many issues with stock OS that i would like to try something else
TIA Bart
This can be closed I found it a much older version on the TWRP site itself and that actually allowed me to to flash the ROM
I'm having a redmi 6A (codename: cactus) device. I decided to install a custom rom to boost the performance of the device. Since there weren't much options of official builds for the device, I chose to try a unofficial build.
Here's the telegram group i found that rom on :Redmi 6A Official Updates
I chose the Octavi OS build from it.
As usual I unlocked the bootloader, installed twrp custom recovery and ready to flash the zip file.
Btw, here's the zip file I flashed : Octavi OS zip
I wiped all the necessary options and flashed the zip without flashing magisk(coz I don't prefer to root). After restarting, the miui logo came but the rom won't booted ever since waiting for hours, so I reverted back to stock.
But after few weeks, I again planned to flash the same build but with magisk file.. And surprisingly enough, the rom logo came and it booted without hassle.
But I wanted to know the exact reason for the former, so I can report it to the dev and he might fix it..
Thanks for your time to read my this sh*t here, any reply would be appreciated .
