A lot.
Another build going up, this time with Uber 4.9 toolchain.
Only issue I've remotely seen so far: Wifi seems to break if I change DPI from the stock 320? Going over seems fine, going under to 240 or 280 kills it. Odd.
There seems to be 2 lines at the bottom where the home button is, not sure if I am doing anything wrong. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Thanks, sorted now. It was already set to hide so not sure why it was showing. Changed to 'Top of navbar'
Nice Rom, respect. But if I wanna change the colours of the Statusbar icons and texts, this menu crashs and jump back to the main-menu "configurations"
Just have to wait for it to get fixed in RR and it gets compiled. I'm unfortunately not familiar enough with the source to know what needs to get changed for this but I'll probably just be releasing it when there are big changes like a version change. Sorry about that but its the extent of my knowledge at the moment other than doing some cherrypicking.
Battery when idle also seems to be draining a bit too quickly for me compared to other MM roms I've used - what have your experiences been with it? I swear one of my initial builds had like maybe 5% drain idling for a day but I swear the recent one gets maybe 2 days...but maybe I'm losing it or this is finally getting old.
Also to get long press home for Google Now working go to Settings -> Search -> Assist & Voice Input -> Assist App -> Google App

You are 4right about the battery. I havnt noticed it on my deb because I am always using it for browsing and movies so it isn't idle much but on kite on the initial builds there were minimum wakelocks observed with wakelock detector but recent builds have alarm and launch wakelocks for hours even. Something [email protected] in RR sources which is keeping apps awake.
Yeah. My issue is that even if I don't touch it for a day and it sits at 100% deep sleep I seem to lose half my battery. Also looks like I still get *alarm* wakelocks like I used to get on my G2 / OPO. Unfortunately I'm a bit clueless about these. I'll poke around some other threads but the OPO thread still looks like people are getting some killer battery over there (7h SOT on a phone in a day)
New builds going up now, not sure how much changed. Flo should be up and Deb is compiling.
Just flashed the latest build on my Deb. Booted Fine, overall the rom is fast and smooth.
One bug I notice, when tapping Sounds on SETTINGS, the Settings menu FC.
Will play some more on the rom. Thanks again. ??

Thanks! I'm still trying to figure out what is causing battery drain on my tablet as I'm getting about 2 days on 100% idle. It's like its in deep sleep forever but there are some crazy wakelocks for hangouts and something else. How has everyone else's experience been?

Just flashed on RR 20151217 for Deb incl. Xposed while XPrivacy kept active, wiped Cache and Dalvik. First impressions: Boots fine, finds GSM networks with no issues, connects to known WiFi and Kexec available. Thanks for your work :good:

On RR 20151217 I had about less then 1%/h in case table was idle. No Gapps, but Whatsapp running. You will get more info about RR20160101 tomorrow...
Is it possible to add the new Adreno Drivers from NVIDIA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013/themes-apps/marshmallow-qualcomm-adreno-gpu-drivers-t3228000) ? I just flashed them and N7 seems to run perfectly...
In regards to the drivers, I'm not sure of the best way to go about adding them. The thread also doesn't really indicate if other users saw significant improvements on it. I wonder if it will be merged in with CM
I would assume the better way of doing it would be building it (not sure if we have source for new drivers?) or having a task that merges the files from the zip after everything else is compiled

Cancel the request for adding the new drivers, I will flash them manually and keep you informed about behaviour.
With respect to battery drain: It seems to heavily depend either on strength of mobile network or usage of WiFi, both in conjunction with Whatsapp... Do you know a good app to track battery information and other data over time, which does not influence the measuring to much?

Ovearheating
Can you remove overheating autoshutdown ?
Any status on the controller/nvidia apps? kind of important to fact to state. That's the only reason why I'm holding out.
Kodi touchscreen works? NFS most wanted touch screen works? looks to me all roms that I've tried can't run these two apps properly.
All of the benefits of an alternative rom means nothing to people actually use the tablet for what it's meant to be used for, gaming.
The RR forum doesn't have info for Shield Tablets. And the Captcha is nearly impossible to figure out.
The dev is Trafalgar Square right? I keep putting that in but I can't get into the forums. It's quite dated.

Well since my tablet needs a clean flash I'll try this rom. RR is my favourite ROM let's see how it goes on my k1
I know you probably copy and pasted from other device RR releases but it says:
- Flash ROM using latest TWRP 2.8.7.x Recovery
MM is only supported by 3.0.0.0+ no?
just flashed this rom , love the loads of customizations so far and just noticed a small bug , whenever you try to adjust/change colour for some stuff in settings for example carrier name or quick settings colour the Settings app Force Closes

I saw the same while having TWRP 2.8.7.1, and though I knew I would likely need to update to the nVidia 4.0 base first, I tried it anyway... Yeah, didn't work. Updated TWRP to ...7.3, didn't work. Updated to 3.0.0.1, didn't work. Finally broke down and took the plunge by following the MM update guide here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/shi...ficial-update-original-shield-t3281541/page12
(They provide you with all the download links you'll need, start to finish.)
Update went smoothly enough, with the exception of TWRP not loading properly the first time, and having to re-flash it again once everything else completed.
Tried the base for awhile in the evening, made a backup (just in case), and flashed RR before bedding down. I've had a little time to mess around here, and I gotta say, I'm diggin' this way more than the stock image. Even after the "settling period", still didn't run as smoothly for me as RR has out of the gate. More options than I've had a chance to get into, but from what I've seen so far, I'm impressed. Especially when weighed against our current alternatives.
Thought about trying out the other MM offerings, but I think I'll stick with RR for awhile. I'm still running it with the SD warning, as I cannot decide which way to go with it... Not really a fan of the way MM does external storage, but I guess I'll have to get used to it... Each has it's merits (from what I've read), but I still can't make up my mind on which way to go with a 128 gig card...
Remember though, if you jump into this, back up your SD data prior. Depending on what you choose regarding storage setup, MM will want to re-format your card. It will then be inaccessible to other systems. Here's another big catch to remember, if you decide you don't like MM and wish to revert to Android 5.1 (or early), you'll have to find and flash an older blob first... Should be able to find one floating around the CM threads.
If you do go through with it, play around a bit with the stock before moving to RR. Then you'll have a better appreciation for what we've got here.
I say go for it, and good luck!
I have RR on my 6P and I love it but it didn't seem to support LTE on the shield tablet yet and I'm still have the write permissions issue for my sd card so I just went back to cm12.1. Lol
It's a shame that it has too much bugs yet :/

I have touchscreen problems and I'm sure it's not an hardware problem, I've tried other ROMs that the touchscreen has no problems. A sound glitch that every cm based rom has so I guess is unfixable. Not cm based roms doesn't have that glitch like DU and Omni. Sometimes deep sleep doesn't work. Sometimes I charge it to 100%, I go to school and when I get home I have like 2%. Sometimes I see some random reboots on the battery graphic too when I'm not using the tablet. The notification area seems pretty laggy and I guess that's all, at least that I remember. If you want I'll try to catch some logcats for you.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

I downloaded that build, now I have Bluetooth and hotspot working but I think the Core_Ctrl is broken for me. I don't see anything in the hot plug section.

I think everybody will get this error while using t.w.r.p 3.0.2.0 but it shouldn't be any problem.ROM can be flashed any way,if u r coming from miui 6.
Upload screen shot of t.w.r.p while getting this error.
Wait for a nougat based t.w.r.p be ported and then there will be no "E:unknown command" error.

Wondering if everything works. Read somewhere GPS is not always working. Anybody tried it?
Just wanted to show this thread a little love. I updated my old S3 to this from Oct M. It is not my daily driver but my V10 is lucky that it has 3.5 years worth of hardware upgrades to rely on because compared to V10s stock MM, the customization of this is top notch. Can't comment on a lot of various functions, stability or battery life, etc as compared to Oct M yet but seems at least on par. The fact that my almost 5 year old device has aftermarket nougat support before my not even 2 year old device gets ota nougat both makes me laugh and kinda sad lol. Thanks for continuing to keep the s3 alive and VERY well!
I'm unable to pick up phone calls with this ROM. It rings, but I have no ability to answer. (3/22/17 Weekly)
I'm also unable to end calls after I dial. There is no indication that I am in a call - but its still connected.
Update: I solved the issue by setting Google Dialer as default in the settings. Somehow all my default apps were reset.
Now I'm having an issue with Hangouts Dialer using the top microphone instead of the bottom.
Well I'm gonna throw this 3/22 on and see what's happening. The latest Lineage 4/10 is pretty tight but I would like some custom features after living with AICP for the last couple of years. But is the development still going?

Thanks for the tip. I tried it awhile back but didn't find any real customizations, but if it's being kept up to date then I'll give it a try. Frankly we're lucky if anybody produces anything for us as a nearly extinct species. I'll head on over there ...

You know your stuff @mastercylinder so I'm guessing you already looked under Tentacles for advanced settings? Honestly OctOS is the one ROM that has everything I want - double tap to sleep, etc. Maybe you are looking for something else?
This RR Rom was very cool but I couldn't maintain a steady wifi or cell signal, it kept dropping. No such problems with the OctOS roms for what it's worth.

Seriously. 7.1 and mine will be 5 years old in July. Obviously not as smooth as my V10 and doesn't multitask as well but I'd dd it if needed.
The customizations are all in the "tentacles" sections. Not as deep as RR sadly.. But they update it pretty regularly so it's your preference.
Edit:dude beat me to it lol

Yeah man! This is cool. Looks like most of what I need AND there seems to be a device maintainer, which is really lucky! (I have considered from time-to-time to take it on myself but luckily haven't had to figure that out.)
So, I'm on to the eight legged one. See y'all over there.
I've been running this ROM for quite a while, have had no issues - but today I tried to photograph the eclipse with my selfie camera, and the strangest thing happened.
My S3 froze the second the front camera tried to adjust for the bright light - then shortly after it attempted to reboot. It wouldn't get past the splash screen, I waited hours.
I tried wiping caches, didn't help. I tried restoring a system backup in TWRP, nothing. I tried restoring /data from that same backup - nothing.
Eventually I decided to do a full wipe and started over from scratch - which finally brought it back to life.
I have no idea why this happened.
It's a TouchWiz vs. CM/LOS thing

Every CM or LOS version I've tried for my d2vzw including Lolllipop, Marshmallow and Nougat all have major camera issues. If it doesn't crash, it takes bad pictures (like, reeeeeeally bad compared to the stock camera); it never has seemed to work right in non-TW ROMs. This is due to Samsung not releasing their proprietary camera blobs from the research I've done (you may already know this).
Bottom line is, if camera stability/quality is important to you, you'll have to stick with the TouchWiz roms which unfortunately stopped at 4.3 for us who unlocked their bootloaders before Knox came out. That being said, 4.3 is more than adequate for my use. The only real thing missing is updated emojis.

Any known bugs? Also what are the advantages of magisk over SuperSU? Last I was aware magisk was not compatability with our devices.
Download link is also broken. Gives 503 error on device and windows 7.

This ROM has the same as the LineageOS builds. Magisk 14.0 has been working perfectly for me, and SuperSU has security concerns since it switched ownership.
I may give this a shot for a little bit. No known bugs?
I've installed and set up. So far everything is running fast and smooth. Will test over the next few days and let you know what I come up with. Thanks again for this port.

Please let me know how it goes!
Nice, smooth, and full of customizability. I can already tell that I'm gonna love this ROM. Thanks for your work!
So far after day one of use. It's been super stable. Smooth. And incredibly fast. And the battery life is phenomenal.
This is after being on Facebook, and emailing customers back and forth all day plus being on the phone with parts reps all day.

The phone will consume more battery on performance mode. Perhaps switching to balanced will save more battery?
On another note, has anyone been experiencing a double vibration on the lock screen and the navigation keys?

Thanks for catching that! I didn't notice that it was switched on.
And when I turned vibrate on tap on, I think I felt a double vibration when I tapped the buttons.

Switch to balanced. Also try switching to a darker theme. Amoled screens consume more power the brighter the colors they try to display. Once again I am also on wifi majority of the day. I have a solid 5ghz data connection all day. While on cellular data the device radios constantly poll for a stronger connection.
I am not having any vibration issues here. The only thing I've noticed is once I installed the rom, I had no cellular data. I had to test different APN's until I found one that worked. But once connected I was golden.

My drainage only occured during standby, and I don't use Wi-Fi at my home. I've never had such an issue on the stock MiFavor ROM. But I also hated it, so I've been dealing with it ever since the custom ROMs came around lol. And some days, the battery lasts like normal for some reason. It's strange.
@MrWhite0429 - Is that black theme from a rom selection or from a substratum theme ?
edit - Also does the 10 GB that is occupied by the system partition get reduced when installing custom roms on the device ?

That's just the settings and color scheme I chose in the rom itself.
New builds have been uploaded. Should fix a bug with the alarm, and a bug with the camera.

What bugs? Same as Tdm builds? I'm on the initial release and it's running great. I had an extremely long boot time after inserting my new memory card earlier today but that's the only hiccup I've had.
Perhaps I'm over looking it but the option to set independent wallpapers for lockscreen and home screen appear to be missing?

Yup, the bugs should be the same as the TDM builds as I'm basing my builds mostly off of his code.
Has anyone else noticed that the camera stretches and distorts the viewfinder image? I only notice this within texting apps and snap chat etc.

***UPDATE FIXED THIS ISSUE***
So far the only critical bug this ROM has is the Wifi issue.
You can work around it but it's very tedious as you have do do this every time you want to establish a connection.
Connecting directly to a wifi connection will result in a reboot BUT if you take your router and disable internet access (so you can connect to it without having internet access) andwait about 15-20 seconds and then enable it again, the phone should connect without rebooting.
This can be done in various ways like:
Manually pulling out the Internet cable from your router and tgen re-connecting it.
Releasing the IP address in the router's control panel and renewing it later on
Changing to a static ip adress(in ROMs wifi settings) which should be incorrect so that you can connect but have no internet acces, then switch back to DHCP.
Again to clarify, reboots will happen every time you establish an internet connection directly.
Connecting to the internet source(like a router) but waiting before releasing internet access will let you connect without rebooting
I am very thankful to @PixelBoot for this ROM, i haven't found any bugs as of yet that i didn't see in other ROMs (Lineage,AICP).
Can't wait to use it as my daily driver

Hi, i have problem with "auto reboot" when i connected to my (WiFi)network at home. And sometimes my phone have, very big temp, something about ~60C. What i can do, with this wi-fi, how to fix it.

It's being worked on at the moment. Will be fixed. Hopefully in the next build.
I noticed yet, when i tried turn on GPS, it's the same situation. phone has reboot like with Wi-Fi(off-on)
Just a question about the phone calls.
Does everything work here? Can I hear the other in the earspeaker, can he hear me? Cause this was a bug of another oreo rom for this device. There was a problem with the speakers or microphone, when you have incoming calls.
Does this work here?
If this works here maybe stricted could fix it in his build. And so you can fix your bugs with stricteds help or so. So we can fix both builds and everything is fine.

No, they are not fixed. No bugs are fixed.
Wifi and Encrytion now work in the latest build, released in the main post!
Check it out for yourself as this ROM is now finally usable!
Thank Stricted for the amazing help he sent out to fix these problems.

Thanks for the build!
I installed it on my S5 last night and it seems very smooth thus far. I have good cell signal and camera and GPS seem to be working properly.
One thing that I have noticed is that the volume seems low compared to Zapryanovv v 2.1. Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks again, nice build!
