Mokee ROM for Mi4i Review - Xiaomi Mi 4i

Can anyone tell me how well Mokee ROM is?
Their development is quick, please review the latest build with respect to other roms.

[Q] is MoKee any good?

Hi there
I will shortly be joining either the custom rom user world or bricked phone world. :silly:
I am absolutely new to the topic and would love some advice from you all.
My phone is stock ICS and I want to switch to a ROM which is very stable and fast.
Earlier i was thinking of going for PA or Cyanogen but neither seem to officially support Motorola Atrix 2. :crying:
MoKee is the only distribution which apparently has official support for my phone.
I was wondering if there is any other ROM which officially supports Atrix 2?
How good is MoKee? Would you recommend this ROM to a newbie? From what i know, Cyanogen seems to be the easiest to install.
Also, can someone list the steps to installing Mokee?
I read the content at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305303
but for a 1st time newb all that seems very intimidating.
thank you
Rishav

All of new ROM's for our Atrix2 are fast and most of them are stable (depends on user )
& Even though CM 11 is not official for our phone, but currently it is the most stable and all bug fixed rom for our A2
(I am not saying Mokee or other ROMs are not stable, but at this stage CM 11 has all bug fixed and I am sure Mokee & other will incorporate it soon :fingers-crossed: )
Also all ROM's have same procedure to install, so all ROM's are easy to install (Thanks to BMM)
You can follow steps in that link or check this video tutorial for using BMM
"Axxiom Kat" also has official support to our device.
It doesn't matters (at least for this device) whether the ROM has official support or not, our device has a team of some Recognized Contributors and A2EPT (Atrix 2 edison porting team) which keep the ROM up to date as like it is an official ROM :victory:
So dont worry flash any ROM you want :highfive:

Thanks Sameer!
Guess CM11 is the best bet for me.
Btw, what is the kernel update?
Would you recommend me to go for a custom kernel now? or is it something i should attempt only when i have the hang of modding?

All rom's have inbuilt custom kernel (kexec kernel), if you wanna try overclocking your device you can use JBX kernel
JBX can be flashed after ROM installtion.
But for a newbie like you dont flash it yet, first try some ROM's; when you get used to it then try JBX.
And if this helps you, dont say thanks press Thanks button below the post !!
And we have separate Q&A section for question and answers
Please dont post questions here in general section
MoKee is bug free and gps works berry good
Mokee is stable and you can try SlimKat as well
Slimkat worked best for me as far as battery life, but cm11 was best overall
atrix 2 cm11

Here's the download link: https://download.cyanogenmod.org
And gapps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Make sure you click the proper device. P3113 uses P3110 file and P5113 uses P5110 file. As far as bugs go, these are nightly builds so there could always be something little here or there but they're pretty stable.

but is not marshmallow
we will wait for a CM13 port
if I´m not wrong
A CM13 is currently being developed by @omerjerk and is still full of bugs at this time. Also OP, your link is probably s**t because all the comments have the same sort of lame profile pic. It's probably malware and no rom at all.

[Poll] SlimRoms For Xiaomi Mi4i [Discussion]

Hello Guys !
I have used many devices and found that the slimrom was the only most stable rom. This rom is very stable (device specefic) slim in size, simple, but still have lots of features. I do not know why there is not a single SlimRom thread or rom for mi4i. but i vote for this rom and looking farword for slimrom for this deviceand thanks to developers for their efforts.:good:
If anybody agree with me please vote for SlimRoms and also request the developers of Mi4i to bring us this great rom.
Guys i dont know why someone dont want to have "Slimroms" on their device ! either they have never tried it or they dont care about it.

you can't rush it... A rom is like an Ikea product, there's alot of assembly needed for it...

Miui v8 mi4i 6.6.18

I have a few days working on a port redmi build the three as they have a similar hardware but I can not make it boot , if you can help me,the base is cm12.1.
Miui v8 for test CM12.1 BASE (No boots...):https://goo.gl/0aEIqK
Bootloop Logcat:https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0zoxbZU58LfVmhhb21sb2NiOU0/view?usp=sharing
Dmesg:https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0zoxbZU58LfT2VfOTBud0Zycnc/view?usp=sharing
6.6.6.10 Firmware are needed
Miui v8 for test Stock Miuiv7 BASE (Not tested for me..):https://goo.gl/CA5xCx
Newest mi4i firmware will be installed when installing the build...
Sorry for my bad English
To be honest
Most custom rom here(based on aosp)using 6.6.10 firmware ..
Take a look at yureka thread, they do the same,a dirty build ....,maybe u can use it as base
What is the reason to update just a launcher (frankly speaking MiUI for me is just well designed android launcher) and left an old android 5? Let's just wait for stable ROM from Xiaomi and pray for getting MM.
BTW thanks for the job done ?
Anyone tried it is it boot ?

As OP mentioned its not booting.
dont waste time with this.. they wil probably release a stable build, everyone is going bezerk as there is no dev rom, but they had discontinued dev rom bfr miui8 even released! so chances of getting a stable build is still pretty decent! so no point in doing this

Thanks for being so polite.
And It's a development section, he is trying and taking help from other developers. He is NOT here to answer your queries.
Let him cook first, buddy.
Global miui 8 release date is 30 june. Hopefully we will have the developer rom for our device. No need to worry:fingers-crossed:
