[Completed] Custom Rooted Stratoshphere 2 - XDA Assist

Hello!
I'm in need of assistance. I have a Verizon Stratosphere 2 phone that has been custom rooted. My client cannot provide their lock code for the phone, and I am trying to bypass the swipe lock in order to recover data. I have had luck using a method on this site installing a ZIP file from the external SD card. For some reason this custom boot doesn't allow for any of the partition loading and once it loads the update.zip file, it then reboots directly out of recovery.
1. Does anyone know of any way to have it load up the update to unlock the phone, and not reboot?
2. Are there other methods for recovering data? On my Windows machine, ADB was not recognizing the device, I think because USB debugging may be disabled.
3. Is there any way to tell what version of OS was used in the custom root?

[Q] Android encryption - How to locate device if lost and phone is restarted

Hi everyone,
Its my first time posting posting here and hopefully im at the right place. I have recently decided to encrypt my device but a question popped up in my mind and couldnt find any answers.
If my device is encrypted and lost is there any way to locate my device if it has been restarted and whoever found is stuck at the unlock screen. From what I understand the password is requested before the phone is fully started and that worries me and find this pointless if there is no way to locate my device. Currently my phone is unlocked in case someone tries to put their SIM card in which will allow the device to notify me but that is pointless if once my device is restarted and stuck at the unlocking screen I cant locate it. Im fairly techy and open to any solutions even if it requires loading a custom rom.
Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S3 i747 on Rogers network with stock Firmware 4.3. Was previously rooted with TWRP recovery but restored to encrypt my device. Im waiting on a possible solution before I restore my phone to its previous state.
Thanks for all your help.

[Completed] Help for G5

Hi!!
I need help with my phone. I tried to root it with with multiples tools(all most popular apps) as SuperOne Click but the program always says the same message: We can't root your device; try again.
I have a Samsung Galaxy 5 with the last update of Samsung, 2.2 Froyo.
I also tried to change the recovery and the Stock ROM to CyanogenMod, but the PC don't recognize my device and the PC shows an Error Code and the device not work in Download Mode.
Hi!
All the threads on rooting I've found on XDA are very old with links that don't work anymore. So I suggest you ask about it in your devices general section....

[Completed] [Q] Verification of understanding regarding root

I'm trying to understand the root process as it currently exists.
Keep in mind that my current device is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 model SM-T800. It's a wifi device without cellular capabilities, so it is not through a carrier.
My first Android device was an Asus Transformer. I could get root because there were exploits (particularly regarding PDF if I remember right) that could grant root privileges. Of course, OTA updates would undo it and fix the security hole that allowed it.
Currently, it seems to no longer be a feasible method.
To make sure I'm understanding things correctly, please correct my understanding (or lack of) below.
The current preferred root for most devices is cf-auto-root. It will grant superuser (root) privileges and then flash the stock image from the device manufacturer. Alternatively, you can flash a custom recovery image. Do I understand this correctly?
Assuming that is correct, are OTA updates possible? Will those OTA updates break root?
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. It seems you got most of your questions answered here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...f-rom-root-t3112897/post60845695#post60845695 Your device specific forum is the best place to ask your questions as they are the experts on your deivce.

[Completed] Where may I download firmware for the T-Mobile Galaxy Core Prime?

Hello,
I have an FRP lock on my Galaxy Core Prime due to trying to root it with King Root (I really don't know what happened, but I did not OEM unlock first, so I am taking the blame). I read that I may fix this by flashing the system image in Odin while the phone is in download mode. However, I have been unable to find a system image from a... reputable source.
The two websites I have found images on are Samsung-firmware . org and Sammobile . com
Can I trust either one? Which one should I use?
Thanks!

DRK not installed. Please install DRK first. Press any button to continue? S7 edge

Hello guys.
I recently rooted my Samsung S7 edge using Magisk and installed TWRP. I created a full backup of my system and ignorantly turned off OEM unlock. I was able to use the device for about 6 days then it automatically rebooted. This was due to a setting that scheduled the phone to reboot after a certain period of time.
Unfortunately for me, it didn't boot up normally. It brought up Custom binary blocked by FRP lock and the phone got stuck in a boot loop.
I thought I would just flash a stock rom onto it, re enable OEM unlock, install TWRP and restore my system but it brought up an error after flashing stock rom. DRK not installed. Please install DRK first.
I have even tried to initialize the device using Smart Switch but the error still shows up.
I basically cannot use my phone right now. The only rom that seems to work on it is the factory binary which doesn't give me the option to unlock OEM or fix DRK. I am stuck now.
Any help will be appreciated
