This is not my first samsung phone and I never had any issues booting into recovery or download mode.
However with this one, I can boot into download mode without any problems. But booting into recovery doesnt work.
tried
Volume UP + Home + Power = Nothing Happens
Volume UP + Power = Nothing Happens
Volume Up + Volume Down + Power = Phone reboot normally
Volume Down + Home + Power = Goes to download mode
I have flashed TWRP recovery so what is the best way to boot into it now?
Samsung Galaxy G920FD + Running stock 5.1.1
When I was running 5.0.2 and I still couldnt boot into recovery. But then rooted using pingpong root and was able to reboot into recovery via TWRP manager. Now I cannot do that as I have no root.

HTC m8, was running CM12 latest nightly with twrp.
I was trying to revert to an earlier build of CM after failure to install MultiROM was creating UI errors. Now my phone is stuck on the CM animation and I can't reboot to recovery mode to access twrp. Power and volume up reset but don't access recovery mode. USB connection on my computer is not recognized so I can't send adb commands to reboot to recovery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You need to use power + volume down to get into recovery. Press and hold power + volume up until the phone reboots. As soon as it restarts press and hold power + volume down until it boots to hboot.
Thanks!
I thought I had tried that earlier but apparently my timing was off.
Hi- I have a G920I that I just rooted with Odin. After that I installed TWRP manager and used it to install TWRP recovery. On reboot i am stuck at the black and white powered by android screen. I can reboot the phone with the volume down and power button combo but i cannot get it to boot into download mode using volume up+home+power buttons. I've read 100 threads but i can find anyone with the resolution to my issue. Any ideas?
Can you still boot into recovery mode, or just reboot?
Download mode is vol down + home + power.
I guess you're pressing the up vol key which is why you're unable to enter download mode.

A while back I flashed my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 with a SLIM Rom. I used Odin way back to do get what I needed. It has been a while since I loaded a custom rom, but maybe I am missing a step to get CWM loaded so I can load another custom rom. The following are the steps that I go through.
1. Power the device down
2. Boot the device into recovery mode (HOLD Power button + volume down). the screen says it is in ODIN Mode.
3. Plug in the USB
4. Fire up Odin
5. Load 'GT-P3113_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.1.0.tar' in the PDA field
6. Click Start
Then the device boots up normally and then loads like normal. How do I get it to boot CWM in the recovery mode?
Hold power + home + bolume up button to boot into recovery
my phone is just stuck on this screen and i cant go into recovery mode or download mode because its not on a boot loop its just stuck. Please help me
Hold Vol Down + Power to force a restart. Hold Vol- + Home + Power to reboot into download mode. From there you can flash stock ROM

Click to collapse
this would erase the data on Galaxy S6. Also here is a video to fix this problem.

I'm using ODIN to install TWRP but after the install I'm still being put into the stock recovery screen, I have Auto Restart disabled under ODIN and I access recovery mode with power + vol up + home buttons and letting the power button go as soon as I see the logo but still holding onto the vol up + home button. This is done immediately after the ODIN install. I have tried multiple times leaving the Downloading Mode using power + vol down and entering recovery mode as well as removing my battery after the TWRP install and booting directly into recovery mode but all of them give me the stock recovery.
Re-flash Stock ROM to get rid off of all mods you applied. Then try again.
I haven't installed anything other than TWRP and if I do a normal boot the phone acts as if nothing ever happened, but I will try with a stock ROM install as well and check if it changes anything
I managed to root it for anyone with the same issue, the tutorial I was following seemed to have a faulty TWRP, the links on the official site work, the magisk method didn't work for me so I used the supersu method which worked perfectly.
