S6 920F 4g LTE - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got a 920F and it only shows 4G, but not LTE. I'm on T Mobile and my Nexus 6 is on LTE. Is there any way to turn LTE on?

All S6 unlocked models support 4G. But I heard that G920i support more popular 4G bands. Someone needs to confirm though!

See if you can update OTA. I updated to the latest firmware and now shows LTE.

I hoe this will clear it up for you http://lmgtfy.com/?q=4g+vs+lte

You need to make sure you have LTE switched on, it looks like your phone and network are compatible

You could just be in an area that doesn't have good 4G coverage though

The 2 phones sitting side by side nexus 6 is on lte (previous phone d801 was on lte at the same spot) the s6 just will not cave in even though in the settings it set to LTE . It is on 5.1.1

[Q] LTE and Sprint Problem?

Just got my nexus 5? Yes. Activated? Yes. LTE? No. Im on sprint and have no idea why my Samsung Galaxy S4 had LTE yet the Nexus 5 cannot get it, just 3G throughout entire area even though my area has all 4G for months. Is there any solutions or known issues as of yet why on Sprint the LTE is not being recognized? Thank you for any help!

Make Sure you change Mobile Network settings to LTE that is what solved the issues with LTE on mine. The Switching only occurs when you make or receive phone calls or send or receive a text message on a tower that has not been updated yet.

[Q] 920i vs 920f?

So does anyone know the difference between these two models? I live in the US using straight talk on AT&T's network. From what I can tell, they both should work, but I am not sure if there is any difference I should be aware of before buying the phone.

I have the G920i that I'm using on cricket (cricket uses att bands) and it works perfectly with LTE. I'm not sure about the 920F but I know that the f is the global unlocked version whereas the I is also unlocked but for selected regions.

How does it work in areas where LTE is not available, i.e. on 3G and HSPA networks? I live in an area where half my day is spent on the fringe of LTE service and the other half in.

Well just like US carrier phones, you'll get LTE signal when you get LTE signal and you'll fall to HSPA+ or 3g when that is the signal you get.

I'm asking more along the lines of can the phone receive the 3G bands in the area? I was wondering if the phone actually could receive what was being broadcast.

That I don't know. You gotta check the bands with your phone and carrier.

My G920I does on AT&T. I've seen it go all the way down to EDGE because I have really bad signal at my house.
I can also confirm that the 920i works fine on AT&T. I have seen it go from Edge to LTE and everything in between.

Singal question

Hello guys. I had a T-Mobile Galaxy S7 but i sold it months ago so now i wanted to go back to the Galaxy so i got the international unlocked S7 G930F. I notice to start that it does not says 4GLte never only 4G. So i was thinking maybe the international name for 4GLte is just 4G so i let it pass but now i notice places where i had 3 or 4 bars 4gLte on the tmobile one, with international one i see 1 or 0 bard 3g or H+. Until now i have no call drop. But my question is. Is the T-Mobile better for signal to use on tmobile network or is the tmobile showing me fake signal while the international is showing me the real deal? I still have time to return it and get the tmobile one i just got it for the 8 core processor. Oh and i have a nexus 5x and he connect to LTE too were the G930F connects 4G and the nexus is unlocked too so i dont undestand.

Hi mate
4G or 4Glte they are the same , marketing mostly , some firmware show it as 4G other as 4GLTE or LTE all are the same

Regarding signal strength the only way to know who is saying the true is with a signal meter , apps like PhoneInfo
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2709931
have a monitor where it shows you the signal strength in dbm and not just an image , with a dbm value you can truly compare

Thanks man. I used LTE Discovery and they both connected to LTE using band 4 and the strength is the same. They both turn to full GSM while on call and then back to LTE band 4 after call. So is marketing thanks.

That sounds about right , voice calls use GSM , unless your regions have VoLTE , LTE is used only for data . cool is all clear now
