Blackberry Priv Being Returned... What Device Should I Go For? - General Topics

Hi Folks...
Its another one of those threads...
I'm returning my Priv because its sorely lacking in the Root Department and a discussion with Blackberry Back End Team said they have no plans to unlock the bootloader... So...My question to the wonderful XDA Community.
I have 4 devices in mind;
- Sony Xperia Z5
- Sony Xperia Z5 Premium
- Motorola X Force
- Motorola X Style

Bare in mind I have had the Style and it is an awesome device. But I'm open for ideas. The only device I will have to pay more for in the UK is the Premium. But is it worth it?
Your wonderful minds please Just two requirements, It can be rooted and must be able to hold a Micro SD Card
I already own a Note 5 and that will remain. But any ideas appreciated.

Replace HTC Desire with SE Xperia Neo V!

Got my Desire in October 2010 with eclair on it. Updated it to froyo with the original update. When gingerbread update came out I waited to see what to do. I decided to skip the original one and in early November 2011 I decided to root and try Supernova by Droidzone, which i still have.
My big dilemma now is, since I have an upgrade offer from my mobile company to renew my contract. Get the Sony Ericcson Xperia Neo V for free and sell it to get the money and keep the Desire which thankfully is still heavilly supported in XDA (but we don't know if and how successfull an upgrade to ICS will be), or sell the Desire and keep the Neo V which has better specs and will be officially upgrated to ICS? Any help/suggestions?

So...could you then let me know what the difference of my thread is in contrast to other ones in the General forum that talk about replacing desire with sensation and many other similar threads? Just the question mark at the end of my title maybe? If so...i just took it away, so you can put it back in the General section

TO THE NOTEPAD!!
HTC Desire //
Pros -
+ You can sell the Neo V for 300 bucks
+ Hardware wise it isn't SOOO inferior
+ Gigantic unnoficial support
Cons -
- No official ICS
- Adreno 200 GPU sucks
SE Xperia Neo V //
Pros -
+ Amazing screen with Bravia Engine technology
+ Official ICS Support
+ Superior Hardware
Cons -
- Small Dev support
- You can sell the desire for only 150~200 dollars at best
If I were you I'd stick with the desire and sell the Neo. Then, next year I'd buy a Xperia Nozomi or a Galaxy SIII
Thanx for your reply mate!
Hmm...maybe I have to add something for your notepad pros and cons which will be even in more favor for the xperia. The Xperia neo v is sold for 200 euros here as brand new. So sold as "second hand" will be about the same price as the desire.
Regarding development..its brand new, probably there will be more support as time goes by.
Big dilemma!

I just did, in my message that you just replied to (all of them were just below my one, they couldn't have been missed, plus they are there for some days)..with tapatalk is not easy for me to point you to threads. Also..my message does have a question mark at the end anymore, it has an exclamation mark.
Ps. Too sensitive...to depend on just a question mark. And even more...in not all of them. Right thing should be all or nothing.

Sony Xperia Tablet S section?

No Sony Xperia Tablet S dedicated forum? Seems like this device is integrated on the Tablet S section. It has been out since September, had some issues and sold well.

Well posted a comment let´s hope we get a separate Xperia tablet section soon though i think we might get a 4.2 update sooner
There are a few metrics behind adding a new forum mate. The device needs roughly 1,000 hits in the 'Request a New Forum' thread to be added, unless there is an anticipated high demand, such as for US major carrier releases.
Somewhat unfortunately, this puts International and unsubsidised devices at a disadvantage. My best suggestion would be to search for Tablet S in the 'Android Hacking' forum and, if you don't already turn one up. Start a thread to consolidate all the known information about the Tablet S and associated exploits.
If you don't have the 'popularity' for a forum, that doesn't stop you having an awesome one-stop shop thread!

New Smartphone

Hello group. I'm planning to get a new Android device to the family and my choices are nexus 5 and Sony Xperia T2
Kindly suggest me the best of these..

I would say Nexus 5. Its very popular and has a big community. Which means more customization if that's your thing. Idk much about the Experia series though.
You might want to check out the gigantic sticky thread at the top of this page dedicated to this type of question. I don't have experience with either but I have a few friends who have the Nexus 5 and love it. I know there's a lot of people on here who really like that phone but the t2 I'm less familiar with.
Nexus 5 especially if you're looking for a device that gets the most attention from Google and the community. This means the device will be kept up to date for a while and you'll have the best rooting/recovery/ROM/etc support from the community.
Thanks for the reply there. Nexus 5 is no doubt a very good phone but T2 is what is stealing the focus. Its a phablet.. With a good Battery backup

Hi JustM!

What should I buy?

Hi guys!
I'm using an old iPhone 4 and its getting worse and worse day by day. I'm planning to change my phone. iPhone 6S, SGS 6 Edge+, HTC One M9 and xperia z3+ are in my mind but i couldn't make a choice between these ones. I used to use Huawei U8650 before so I know the Android environment.
iOS is smooth and stable but its quite expensive to buy now. Could you help me please?
Thanks!

Buying Advice: want a dual boot Android - Windows 10 tablet (UK)

Hi, as above need advice for my son's Xmas present and apart from getting a China tab with long delivery times, my options are limited.
Ideally want one that's well supported with ROMs for future proofing if possible.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
Justin
