Hard Bricked T-Mobile Z3, Doesn't turn on at all - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have T-Mobile Z3 (D6616) that I rooted and flashed TWRP on with no issues. Today I tried to flash ZyxxOS on it. after wiping and installing I went to reboot. The phone only powered off and then no matter what I do will not power on. I've tried all the button combos, LED's don't flash, I used the little yellow button by the sim, nothing.
If there is anything I can add let me know and I'll try to help to the best of my abilities.
thanks, Nathan
EDIT: If anyone can help me to the point that the phone boots or is completely fixed, I'll buy you a 6 pack of beer (or soda if you're too young to drink)
EDIT2: I let the phone charge all night and now (still plugged in) the notification LED is glowing red

Try to boot into Fastboot mode by holding the volume up then plug in the usb into your phone, if it detects then use the sony tool to reflash your firmware and it should work. If fastboot doesnt detect then I don't know what else to say.

Yeah it doesn't respond to anything. I've tried loading into fastboot, even holding all the button combos for a whole minute.

How long did you hold the reset button for? I had the same issue with a z2 tablet and I had to hold the button for at least 2 minutes.

Yes nathan, try to do this what @BladeRunner says:hold buttons for mor time.
Do you tried flash phone with flashtool?

So I left the phone on the (wall) charger all night and when I woke up the notification light was red. I hit volume down +power and the phone vibrated 3 times but nothing else happened. After that I tried connecting it to flash tool with a rubberband on the volume up botton. Flashtool's notification screen thing kept repeating "phone connected adb disabled" and then "device disconnected". I let it do that for about an hour before I took it off and put it back on the charger.
Should I still try and reset it by holding it for a few minutes? I read the softbrick thread linked above but i'm not sure what I should do or where my situation fits into that thread.
thanks, Nathan

wwouldn't you connect it to the flash tool with volume button down? That might at least get it into flashmode.

I tried that, leaving it with flashtool waiting to connect and my phone connected with a rubberband on the volume down overnight last night. Nothing happened and now flashtool didn't even recognize the phone.

Try this, open up flashtool and select your firmware, then click on the flash icon, after you clicked flash hold the volume down while connecting the usb cable and see if it the led changes from red to green/blue. Also what version of flashtool are you using? Maybe thats why its not detecting via the rubberband method. Also give this a go as well:
Recovery Mode:
Turn off the device
Press and hold Volume UP + Volume Down Key
then Press and hold Power key while pressing these keys
then press Camera key to enter Android System Recovery
Release all key when you see Android icon

If you plug in your charging cable and a red led is on that means it is powered off. So just try the button combination I have mentioned and hope it boots into stock recovery to try a factory reset.

I did the rubber band trick with the new flashtool, and the flashtool log just says,
device connected with USB debugging disabled
for 2011 devices line, make sure you are not in MTP mode
device disconnected
I get this over and over and it has been like this pretty much all day.
*EDIT: i held down power and volume down for a really long time this time and the led blinks red 3 times while I hold the buttons down.*

Darn, not much you can do since USB Debugging is disabled. Also is PC companion running the same time as Flashtool? That can conflict with it. If they are both running make sure to close PC companion and give it another go. Three red blinks means the battery is drained completely, but you said you charged it overnight. hmmmmm.....
EDIT: Leave it charging using original cable + wall charger for 10-30 minutes, after that unplug from wall charger with cable still intact then hold volume up and plug to PC and hope you see the Flashmode LED.

when you connect your phone in flashmode green light should stay on (press & hold vol down then plug usb in)
it should show
"device connected in flashmode"
IF you want fastboot mode
when you connect your phone in fastboot mode blue light should stay on (press & hold vol up then plug usb in)
NOTE-it should actually do bootloops....not sure why red light

Sometimes flash tool, while flashing tells me to turn on usb debugging (although its already on). So what do I do? Wait. After ten minutes(approx), device disconnects automatically and then flashtool requests me to connect in flash mode. So I disconect my usb cable and connect it again in flash mode and voila! flash begins. Worked for me, hope it works for u too..

yes thats a common mistake
on flashmode connect phone in flashmode only when asked (or like you said ...you will have to do twice)
on fastboot mode your phone has to be connected in fastboot before selecting the fastboot mode
I'm having very similar trouble, i flashed FXP CM10 a little while ago until the phone stopped receiving a signal (which has happened a few times using CM10), unfortunately the battery died before i got home to flash it again. 3 days and 7 hours later and the battery still hasn't charged, i've managed to boot into android very quickly while it's connected to a wall charger but i get nothing at all if i try and connect in flashmode or fastboot.
Is the battery dead? Is there something i'm probably missing? I figured this might go to someway with hoping the OP.
[Edit: Good news! I've plugged into USB and i can get to the battery bar with the power symbol, maybe i can get to flashmode after all!]
[Edit 2:] Noticing the phone had just enough power to get to the battery/power symbol screen, held down the volume button for about a minute till it went through that cycle and managed to get it into flashmode, installed stock and plugged it into the wall. 5 mins later i hit the power button and it's working again! Hooray!

[Q] JLo bricked

Hello.
I'm in a bit of a pickle. I installed slimbean on my friends Xperia J and it booted properly and everything. The only problem I had was that the IMEI was blank and the phone could not get the network established. Now I wish that was still the problem. It looks like the phone is totally bricked. I left it on over night and it was fully charged, but in the morning it was turned off. I tried turning it on, taking out the battery, but couldn't get it to turn on. I tried getting into fastboot mode, but to no avail.
When I press the fastboot button (volume down) and connect it, the windows doesn't recognize it and failes to install the drivers. After that, when I plug it in, I can hear the failed usb connect sound. And that is about it. Please guys, work your magic. Thanks.

Use flashtool and flash Stock ICS, To put your device in flashmode you hold the Volume + and plug the USB in, The LED Light should light up green, The reason your IMEI was gone and you have no network was because you must've flashed straight from Jellybean? The way to solve this is by flashing from ICS to your desired rom, Goodluck!

You said your battery was completely flat right, so what's happened is your phone doesn't have enough power to do anything, What you need to do is leave the phone on charge (Best to do it overnight) One you've done this Take your battery out for 5 minutes, After place your battery back in and use flash tool and Flash Stock ICS (If you want to flash to slimbean again) if not goa head and flash Stock JB, Your device should run normally

Problems with my d6633 Z3 Dual

Hallo people,
I have a very big problem with my d6633. I installed tonight TWRP - so fas, so good. After installing TWRP asked me to root the device, I said YES. My bootloader was unlocked. Then I couldn't exit TWRP. After every reboot the device started into TWRP. Now I can not start the device. I tried with Power+ Volume+, reset button - nothing.
Any suggestions?

Sony Xperia Z3 Dual D6633
I have tried just about every method seen. My problem with the flashtool or PC companion is that the phone is recognized by the computer but I can only start to turn the device on which I don't believe it actually boots. Broken display and new display does not power on.
Or it connects in fastboot by holding volume up when connecting. This shows a blue led.
But trying to connect in flash mode by holding power down just makes the led flash red then green continuously.
And for the pc companion it always says the connection was unsuccessful once the led turns green on the device.
I got the phone for only $40 in this condition. So I cannot say what entirely was wrong or what it's last working state was.
I bought a new screen and power flex cable. As well as a back plate and tempered glass protectors. I was going to wait until everything works perfect speakers and all before I sealed it tight with water proof adhesive stickers.
Even before I bought the new power flex the computer recognized it and the battery health and charge %. The battery was able to charge. But I couldn't turn the device on.
The computer confirmed that it had been at 29% after some time charging and then 100% after leaving it on charge.
Now with the new screen and power cable the phone still does nothing if not plugged it. The light was red at first, but then yellow, then after some time green when the battery fully charged. This was again even before the new parts.
I have to plug it in to try anything.
It goes red then starts to turn on and turns green.
But I hear no sound, get no vibrations, the computer only sees it as the phone and shows absolutely nothing on the removable disk. Just blank when I click on the drive volume. But it is seen as an Xperia D6633 phone or fastboot Android device.
I've tried the reset button, holding power and volume up, volume down, all three. Tried my factory cable. Different cables, different ports, uninstalling it from service manager and letting the flash tool recognize and install it.
I also tried the new display on the old power flex and the old display on the new power flex.
Nothing changed, no vibrations, no sounds, system never actually fully starts as far as I can tell, and cannot connect in flash mode only fast boot. And the flashable file is only seen in flash mode. Fastboot can only see the folder but it is ready to flash files as far as I can tell.
@xdathekilljoy
That's a lot of money you're putting into an (apparently) broken phone Brave!
Okay so what happens if you hold Vol+ while it's shut down and then connect it to USB, the LED turns blue, right?
So why does flashing it from there on not work?

Well it didn't seem that broken at first and both it and the display were only about 37 piece. Power flex was almost 10. Seemed like a rightful price.
Yes the led turns blue and it is in fastboot mode. The flash file seems to only be readable for flashing in flash mode "volume down". I can see the folder of the flash file in fastboot mode " volume up ", but not in a flashable format.
And when connecting " volume down " it fails a connection while the led just flashes green to red to green to red continually
Two updates
1. I thought I should mention that when I do plug the phone in to a charger or computer the top does get a bit warm or hot as well as the led turns on. Different color depending.
2. With much fiddling and trying if holding the volume down button for different lengths of time while connecting up a computer I finally got it to connect in flash mode and flashed a file...... No change.
At this point maybe I should try a new battery for the hell of it even though this one seems to be working.
Or there is a minute hardware damage somewhere. Maybe the power ic? Or s capacitor?

When I connect it in the PC, there is a sound when you plug and unplug a device, thats sounds plays seconds after connect i(it connects it, and then dicsonnects it automaticlly) also It only recognize it when I plug it in fastboot mode..

So you can start your M2 in fastboot mode, the led light should turn into blue.
You can try to flash TWRP recovery and then the ROM again, download twrp.img from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767112082
Then to flash it to the M2 from a command line run:
adb reboot bootloader (to enter in fastboot mode)
fastboot flash recovery /path/to/the/twrp.img
Then try to reboot into recovery mode running:
adb reboot recovery
And then from the TWRP menu -> WIPE -> INSTALL the ROM file again.
When I type the first I get a error - error: device '(null)' not found
The device is connected by the way (I got the blue light).

Ok, so adb is not recognizing the device.
When you connect the M2 make sure you hold the VOLUME DOWN before connecting the USB-cable and hold it until EMMA detect it., this can take up to 1 minute. If this didn't help, force a shutdown holding the POWER and VOLUME UP buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds, then connect it to the wall charger and charge the M2 for two or three hours. You can also try by pressing the OFF button on the MICRO SIM slot.

Xperia xz does not enter flashmode help :(

Hello, this is my first publication...
A few days ago I made the update of my terminal, from version 6.0.1 and I can not flash version 7 from flashtool, everything worked fine, after flashing the computer was up to version 7.1.1, after a few days observe Which at the time of downloading and connecting the computer started with constant restarts or bootloops, until you can turn it on, also the computer occasionally has problems with the speaker, plus flash failure does not turn on ...
All this happened after flashing it
I can not enter the flash mode, pressing the volume button -, the phone turns on the green light and turns off and on again and is not detected by the computer, I would greatly appreciate the help!
Please
- do a hard power off: VOL+ and Off
- do a factory reset
- plug the USB cable to another port
- reinstall USB drivers
- try another cable
- try another PC

Thank you for responding to my post.
- from the hard power off: VOL + and Off
I do it several times, and still nothing
- from the factory reset
It is restored by the sony configuration and neither does the equipment works normal except for the LED flash of the camera, and sometimes the problem of the mentioned speakers
In addition to proving in 3 different computers, with two different cables in addition, installing the drivers and everything, I do not know what else to do, when I connect the phone with fastboot is recognized, or through trasnferencia, there is no problem with that, only the flashmode .
I have the same problem with my XZ but found a workaround. When prompted to turn of your phone and plug it in flash mode reboot the phone instead. When the screen goes black hold the volume down, when the phone turns back on it will go into flash mode. Works for me every time.

According to what you said should you restart the phone connected to the usb cable?

Strange enough I reproduce this "flashing green-led" flashmode issue today, but it was the USB cable problem (type c -> type c).
The cable in question can access mtp mode and fastboot mode normally thou.
It is likely not the same issue like yours, but still very strange.

same problem can not enter flashmode but can enter fastbootmode....
I have the same problem.
I've found that my phone does not enter flash mode at the first Led flash, so plug the cable while hoding volume up (fastboot mode), if the led just flashing blue then I hold volume down to get into flash mode. else if it connected in fastboot mode then i just unplug it and do again.
Thanks for the tip! Works well with my Xperia XZ + Lenovo T460 + Aukey USB cable combo.
Had a headache with phone not entering the flash mode. Flashtool said it's connected in recovery mode, usb debugging off. Perhaps sth to do with trying to update the TWRP to the latest version (3.2.2) via the PlayStore app and turning the recovery non-functional. I wanted to update to the latest FW before reflashing TWRP in fastboot mode.
