Hey Dcmtnbkr
How is that charger? I ordered mine right after you there were still 4 in-stock, it showed shipped with arrival today. Now I get an update from Amazon that it will ship on the 10th with an arrival of 14th (it was a prime item and in-stock when I ordered, not real happy). Is your's working well (not overheating, giving a full charge)? Thanks for any feedback.

Bummer to hear man! So far so good on the charger.
Let me preface this by saying that I received the charger at a pretty good discount in exchange for an honest review (not free, just not full price).
I've been using it on a 2amp charger, which I was a bit apprehensive to do since the stock charger is I believe 750ma. The watch does get warm to the touch, but certainly not hot at all and I suspect if I used it with a 1 amp or even 750ma charger it probably wouldn't get warm at all. I will try to confirm that tonight. I haven't had the watch itself long enough to say if this charger is any faster, but it seems to charge at a good rate. No problems getting a full charge on it and the battery lasts the same as it would had I charged it on the stock charger.
As for looks, it looks extremely similar but not exactly the same as my stock charger (although it's black, my charger is white). The material is almost like a matte rubber. I personally don't care for it, but I have weird things about texture and I know most people wouldn't care one way or the other. The only real difference that I noticed is that the back is slightly larger and the angle is slightly different. The LED lights on the front are a different color as well. It is a tricolor LED which shows a different color for charging, charged, and standby (nothing sitting on the dock).
The dock does have a foam ring on the bottom as well, i guess to help it not slide? Not sure if this is effective or not. Doesn't seem like it would be but I'm not sure.
Let me know if you guys have any questions, but I'm overall very happy with it.

Thanks for the review and pictures. I will let my order stand and hopefully it will ship by the end of the week. I want to keep a charger at work for those days I forgot to charge my watch at home. It is half the price of the original Samsung charger, and is perfect for my needs of an occasional charge.
I also have a Moto 360 2nd Gen and I keep an aftermarket charger at work for it. It makes the watch slightly warm also, but does a good job of 100% charging the watch.

I too ordered one when it was Prime and now it hasn't shipped yet. If you go to the original page it says not Prime eligible and won't ship until sometime in January. I don't hold out too much hope in getting it any time soon.
My question is: which aftermarket charger for the Moto 360 are you using?
Thanks,
Fred

They updated my status again and sent me the charger on the 9th. It works very well, same experience as Dcmtnbkr, does not overheat, gives me a very fast charge. The magnet is not as strong, but adequate. Overall very happy with my extra charger for the office.
I have one of those cheap aftermarket (china) Moto 360 chargers. It is just OK. It will sometimes only charge to 98% and then seem to act up, it also makes the watch a little warm. I keep it at my office for emergencies only.
That is why I was a little skeptical of the S2 aftermarket charger. Also I am charging an S2 3G version of the watch which is a little thicker, but it seems to work great.

This thread is about an aftermarket Gear S2 charger. It is about half the price of the Samsung OEM charger. It so far seems to be a great charger.
I have tried my Gear S2 on the Moto 360 charger. Very unstable results for me, will start to charge then stop, I was able to get a good charge one time, overall not a very good solution. That is why the Gear S2 aftermarket charger was interesting to me. I have seen some other threads where people are having mixed results with a Moto 360 charger.
I have also seen a wide variety of aftermarket chargers pop up on the web that advertise for the Gear S2. Some of the photos look like a Moto 360 charger, I would be skeptical of these. The link in the post is for a product that at least for me looks and acts much like the OEM charger.

I understand the thread is about a specific after market charger, I just wondered if there was something special about the wireless charging protocol Samsung is using. Had you stated the details about why you chose this one in the OP or anywhere else in the thread I wouldn't have commented.
Anyway, thanks for the recommendation I'll probably order one, it's nice to have spares.

I received the charger from the link. Seems to work well. It may run slightly hotter than the stock charger, but otherwise, it's good. The magnet is a little less strong too, but the watch is still held in place.

When I use another charger, the gear s2 connect and disconnect (the charge) many times! Does somebody know why?

Information on the website is also scarce with only a Coming Soon badge at the top of the product page. (http://www.tylt.com/vu/)
Couldn't agree more... This one really looks great, and no risk of slipping from it i'd say...
I don't understand why there aren't more Wireless chargers available, not to mention the google one, the technology isn't that new...
Yup, looks good. I'm hesitant to pick up anything until Google releases the orb, or at least I see the orb in action. But I like the look of this one.

This is actually the first Qi charger that looks good, and also has some practicality. I definitely will buy it for $69.99, it looks like it has a premium feel to it
I already have an Energizer which was going to tide me over until the official Orb was released.
I'd snatch up that TYLT one in April if it wasn't so pricey... For $70 I'll just wait for the Orb.
No thanks.

I really doubt the orb will be a reality. The Q was canned and never returned. LG can barely keep up with demand and is now rumored to have stopped Nexus 4 production completely. You can't even get a bumper for the device. I really highly doubt that the orb will happen. If you do any searches regarding it, most of the results are "where is the orb?" and many are posted prior to Christmas (it was announced by Google in October, and like I mentioned about the Q, it isn't the first time Google got people excited about something that didn't pan out). So I hate to rain on the parade but I highly doubt it will happen. Even then it may release and be plagued with issues. I saw the CES review on Android Police and the VU seems to be a great device. Not awkward or a pain to charge, just drop the device anywhere on the pad and good to go!
I wonder what they mean by "Output Current 5 Watts" on their product site. 5A? Noo

buyers beware **fake Samsung charger system**

sorry if this has been posted already. Ive always had an extra battery to with me with each of my past phones (og EVO, Epic Touch, Galaxy S3) my EVO lte was an obvious exception. I just hate being tethered to a charger, well I searched and found a nice Samsung charger and extra 2600mah battery system on Amazon, never had a problem with Amazon ever. I order the charger, receive it the next day, when I checked it (my wife had opened it and charged the battery for me by the time I got home from work so I didnt bother looking at the packaging) I get to checking it out and it just kinda felt cheaply made, I shrugged it off. fast forward to the next day, the time comes that I need the extra battery, I pop it in and boot the phone up..........it shows only 94% and it drained pretty quickly (this kinda went with what I initially thought) I then said "eh prolly because its a new battery) next day same thing, I start researching and find info on fake Samsung batteries, the battery had no sign of the moisture indicator was the first clue, second was it said "made in China, assembled in Corea" went home and inspected the packaging, no signs of the hologram Samsung logo anywhere looked at the charger a bit more, while its a great knock off, it just feels cheap and well fake, had it not been for the battery not taking a full charge, I would have thought nothing of it, of course Im sure NFC would not have worked either, but I rarely ever use it. I went ahead and orderd a real charging system from Samsung and sadly it didnt cost much more than the knock off

I bought the same thing from Amazon.
The OEM battery from Samsung is indeed the b600bu.
Comparing the original VZW one with the VZW tag on it. I don't see much of a difference but the moisture indicator as you said doesn't have the red x's as on the VZW but there is a sticker on there and not sure what happens to this sticker if it gets wet.
I haven't noticed a problem with the battery life personally on the OEM + battery charger one.
Mine OEM replacement only says made in Korea, nothing about china.
The Original VZW says Manufactured by Yongbo, cell from japan, manufactured in china.
I don't remember looking for the hologram sticker when I opened the package. Guess I should have checked. LOL.
The battery charging system is white with grey lettering.
Being that I have the 7500 lemon, 2 of these 2600 mah, and one 5200, I get good use out of the charger and swap out whenever and however I tend to need things.
I bet this wasn't sold and shipped by Amazon.
that would be the first thing I look at. I know there many counterfeits from china.
I would not trust buying any battery no matter how cheap (unless I was expecting a fake) not sold and shipped by amazon or Samsung.
just too many fakes out there.
the charging system is super cheap with the coupon for registering your s4 anyhow, I would not get it anywhere else.

was the item bought direct from amazon or the amazon market where people can list their items.
from you description, it's still hard to confirm it's fake.
many samsung batteries are shipped without the moisture indicator sticker and hologram, and their batteries are now made in many countries and assembled in many countries, which includes china.
try going through a few more charges and see what happens, or just return it for a refund.
FYI, I bought a genuine Samsung 2600mah battery from Phones4U (£25 - free with a coupon I had).
Whenever I charge this or the battery that came with my phone using an external Anker battery charger (Previously bought for 1600mah/1900mah S2 batteries) it will only charge it to 94%.
It's probably a problem with the external charger and not the battery?
nah guys almost 100% certain its a fake, the battery that was included only charges to 94% and discharges fast, the oem battery that came with my phone charged to 100% twice in the questionable charger. This was an item sold by one seller and fulfilled by Amazon (what ever this means) the seller I bought it from (yes I know I should have checked feedback before buying it but when I saw fulfilled by Amazon, I let my guard down) had several complaints of the same thing thing Im most offended by is the fact that it cost $40, I could have just ordered this from Samsung for $50 (which I ended up doing Sunday btw)
You rally have to be careful with those Corean devices. The Corean people just don't have the same work ethic and quality control standards as the Koreans who build the actual Samsung products.
Hahahah!
That's the great thing about Chinese knockoffs. They always get one little detail wrong like that to make it obvious its a fake. Like the fake iPhone will have the apple logo with the bite out of the wrong side. Or the HTC knockoff will have HTC's logo spelled with capital letters instead of lower case. But getting Korea wrong....I mean its like walking distance from China. How do you screw that up?
Anyway Amazon will refund you since it was fulfilled by Amazon. They won't even give you a hard time about it.

Ok, just received the charger and battery I ordered direct from Samsung (cost $10 more than the fake one) and let me tell you, big difference in the weight of the charger itself, the battery is also a bit heavier, the LED doesnt constantly stay lit (the fake chargers LED stayed lit with battery in it or not, the Samsung part does not) and the packaging is all together different, and the Samsung one included a wall plug in micro usb cord :good:

well yeah, its not as if I sought a fake charger lol, and the idea, atleast for me is to avoid being tethered to a charge cord, so the extra battery works out great!

Wireless charger recommendations?

I'm looking at this one, http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Compatible-Blackberry-SlimPWRcard-Qi-enabled/dp/B00DQDE1K8. I'd rather not pay $50 for the Samsung charger. Does anyone have experience with this one, or have any other recommendations?
I have this one, and really like it.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PCAXGX6/ref=twister_B00IXZ5OCS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Personally, I'm not a fan of single coil chargers like this one. I've always ended up spending more time than I would like trying to line the device up correctly, which seems to defeat the point of convenience. Triple coil chargers are really the way to go, but they're going to run you quite a bit more. I just picked up a Qi-infinity Folding Wireless Dock and have been quite happy with it (that is, after I plugged it into a properly sized wall plug lol) so far, but that's definitely hitting that $50 price point.

Wow, and only $10. It's a shame they didn't update it for the newer iPhones. My daughter as a newer iPhone, and it would be perfect if we both could use this. I'm going to order one anyway.
I made this thread about the Samsung charger, but there are other recommendations in it.
Also it should be kept in mind that you should be able to get 50% off the Samsung charger by registering your S6, so it'd actually be $25.

I just registered my device when it asked during setup and they e-mailed me the code. Unfortunately it's only 30% off now apparently -_-
I got my Galaxy S6 on the 9th April and I purchased the standard Samsung S Charging Pad from the store too... It works great with a case on... I had a few issues with the charger as it approached 100% it kept disconnecting and reconnecting but nonetheless it's great! It takes 170 minutes to fully charge.

Motorola TurboPower 15 Charger alternative?

Hi Gurus,
Just wondering if there are some alternative chargers for the upcoming Moto X Style?
The official charger is about 25 quid, do I have to use the official charger to get the same charging performance?
Thinking about buying a wall charger like this, http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00P2GW7MG/?tag=ho01f-21
Would it work for Moto X Style?
Well no because the Charger for the best speeds is actually TurboPower 25.
And that hasnt been released yet in the UK and it would be stupid if it doesnt. I recon they will have a discount price on pre order release day thats my guess anyhow.

Thanks, didn't realise that at all.
Maybe that's why moto is delaying the UK launch as the charges are not ready.
So I guess I'll have to buy an extra so I can do fast charge both at home and work.

Btw what you linked is just a surge protecter? It would do nothing but waste £15 lol
I think I did a bad job of explaining. If you want the superfast speeds Motorola claim that can be achieved (0-34% in 15mins) then you will need their Turbo25 charger. But you can still charge it fast (probs 0-26% in 15minutes) via a Qualcomm 2.0 Quick Charger such as this ...

Yeah I'm going to buy two aswell one for home and one for work, however at the minute I'm waiting to see what Motorola do. Worse case I will use the standard one that ships with it for a while and then maybe just buy the item I linked (Qualcomm 2.0 quick charger). Would be able to buy two of them for less than the price of the TurboCharge 25 would be my guess.
Takes the biscuit that we in the UK wont get a Turbo25 charger in the box
Hopefully that explains it a bit better lol.
So the "15" chargers that were up as a suggested additional purchase aren't even the right ones? Poop

That Belkin is a converter with a surge protector, but I'm not sure how the 2.4 amp will be shared.
Thanks for the thorough explanation mate, really appreciate the recommendation.
I hope this phone comes with TurboCharge 25, otherwise it'd be false advertisement.
Have a good weekend.
Well maybe you wont need to buy two @johhn.

Looks like the phones are being shipped in US, but the 25w chargers are still not available in US.
I can only hope the charger would be available by the time pre-orders are open in the UK.

Samsung OEM charger now available

I just left the Samsung website and placed my order for a second charger. They now have them in stock at $39.99 free shipping.
I ordered 2 on the 17th and they still haven't shipped......
If you mean type EP-YO760B, this one is available in Europe on stock from S3 sale start, also from End of November 2016, price is about 40 $ incl. all taxes.
Some trivia for those with seiko kinetic watches, the samsung charger charges these as well lol
Finally got my wireless chargers today. Neither one came with the usb cable. Says it does. I called and complained. They said they would escalate it and get them to me as quick as possible. Samsung has really been sucking ass lately.
30 minutes

Only took 30 minutes of my time......
Just may drive over to Ridgefield Park, NJ their headquarters
None of the "S3" chargers on Amazon appear to actually be S3 chargers. I received one today that is labeled S3 and it's actually a bit smaller than an S2 charger I have - it's going back.

Thanks for the heads up! Would this be the same for this one even though it looks like it is in an original packaging and says genuine?
