[MMX a110]Micromax Canvas 2 TWRP Recovery 2.3

The Title says Right
Micromax a110 just got a Twrp 2.3 Port
TWRP change log from v2.2 to v2.3:
Rebased onto AOSP Jelly Bean source code
Rewrote backup, restore, wipe, and mount code in C++ classes for easier maintenance going forward
NOTE: backups from prior versions of TWRP are still compatible with 2.3
ADB sideload functionality from AOSP is included in 2.3, see this link for more info
Re-wrote fix permissions entirely in C++ and runs in a few seconds instead of a few minutes (thanks to bigbiff)
Improvements to zip finding in OpenRecoveryScript (should be a lot fewer GooManager automation issues)
Faster boot times
Added charging indicator while in recovery (only updates once every 60 seconds)

I think the latest version of TWRP is 2.4.1.0 and if that can be ported to A110 it would be great.
Anyway thanks for sharing.

You just say you ported it.....You didn't give proper credits to yuweng or Bruno martins.......against xda spirit of thanking those who helped and giving credits to them.....

Oh. Thanks for your info.
Massive Update has been released check op for change log ?
This is a really slick tool. Nice to be able to quickly try out the various recoveries so easily.
Just for fun I did a nandroid backup with a fresh install of twrp (I usually use the multirom version) and had a backup that took 16 minutes and 2651mb in size. I then installed philz touch and took a backup that took 20 minutes and was 3861mb in size. Guess I'll stick with twrp. (Although I might try the backup with OUDHS, that looked pretty nice)
Abso-lute-ly GREAT job, @Flashalot! Thanks for your hard work on this and sharing it. Thanks for giving permission to our awsome Galaxy Tab 2 developer Android-Andi to adapt this for the Tab2 models. I've tested the Recovery Switcher's beta/RC version and confirm he did it correct way, given credits and mentioned you multiple times there. I've clicked thanks button beyond all your posts in this thread, regrettably not so many people seem to do it.
Minor Update Released Check op for change log ?

Cool, @Flashalot
Please consider to replace PhilZ with the newest version next time, as Phil3759 has made important updates last week and solved some bugs that were there since v6.09.x (same bug also in CWM since v6.0.4.5 until today)

If you have root and a recovery installed on the xperia z2 tablet, then you have your bootloader unlocked already.
Root just gives you higher privileges in the running state. To install lets say Clockworkmod recovery, you need write access to the boot partition, which comes only with an unlocked bootloader.
I´m not sure, but my LTE Tablet have Dual Recovery installed and rooted as well.. But still locked Bootloader. I need to unlock them to be able install any custom ROM.
For now i´m on Sony Stock ROM.

I stand corrected, your tablet can have a locked bootloader with XZDualRecovery and root. Sorry for that...
You can install a custom ROM however make sure you create a backup of /system/bin/chargemon in a location you know it keep secure, then just flash the locked dual recovery beta zip.
I had xzdualrecovery on my xperia z2 tablet with a locked bootloader but it would not stick when I tried backing up or flashing a custom ROM. I went ahead and unlocked the bootloader and installed a CWM recovery in order to avoid loosing a recovery because of bootloader errors/bugs.

You're true: I don't know so much about this device developers, still learning. Corrected.
Sorry for being so late on updating it, but I now have another package to be tested.
It's a fresh CWM build - based on latest cm-12.0 branch code -, built upon your developers updated sources.
I would be glad to receive any of your feedback, after testing it.
Greetings.

I tested it and the results are quite bad.
1. Reboot option doesn't reboot to system, instead it reboots again to recovery.
2. Apply update too doesn't seem to be working. When I tried to flash CWM through this recovery, it failed.
3. I had to go to download mode to get my phone working again. I flashed CWM through Odin but now I was stuck in download mode. So, I pulled out the battery and then everything was normal again.

okay.
But what's the use of it, this recovery lacks all the feature of a custom recovery. It looks more like an overhaul of stock recovery with touch support.

Yes, it's possible
Where are screenshots made in recovery located? /data/media/0/pictures/screenshots are empty ... That's the path where they are saved apparently

Never mind .. Seems like a ROM issue as screenshots are not working either.

btw why you need a ss? is there a error?

No no, someone on a German speaking board asked me for help via pn. I thought it might help explaining it with some ss. But rge ROM I'm running has issues with ss (can't be saved) so I'm gonna set up my phone and SD card again.
Looks like its an error on my side.

Thanks for the offer. But apparently she managed it. For weeks she was trying to install slim (the only f2fs ROM so far) but bricked her device by accidentally flashing the faulty recovery from twrp.me.
I'll let her know in case if she is still struggling

you need to change the install option from zip to img. Then you can flash the new recovery. If that's what you mean
