Media Folder - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I downloaded samsung sounds and i overwritten my exciting media folder located in /system. It worked good but i didn't like it so i deleted whole folder. I made a backup of my Media folder on my sdcard but when I put it back and reboot i don't find any media on my device. How can I fix it? And if someone could upload me that folder and tell permissions.

Looking for an app, mod, commandline, something, that can make a folder on my SD card, not be read by the gallery.
Id like some stuff to not show up in the gallery by default. The same would be nice for music as well, something that will allow you to select a folder on the SD card to not include music files in the music app.
Anyone know of anything like this, whether it be an ADB command line, something i can do in terminal with su, an app, a mod, etc etc?
Create a file named ".nomedia" and put it in the folder you are trying to omit
Another tip to stop a folders contents showing in Gallery is to simply put a "." (a fullstop/period) infront of the folder name.
Also, to refresh the galleries once you've done the above, go into Dev Tools and run 'Media Scanner'
Thanks for the replies... seems simple enough. Thank you for all the suggestions.
Just to give you a little more breakdown, the easiest way to do this (from a Windows PC) is to create a blank text file on your PC and copy it to the folder on your SD Card, then use an explorer app like Astro File Manager to rename it to .nomedia (since Windows won't let you name a file .nomedia).

That's exactly what I did. Once on my SD card, I used astro to copy paste it to the other directories I wanted to exclude.
Again, thanks for the help.

would that be a working work-around solution for such badly written apps such as Asphalt 5 (which makes its music & sounds appear in the Music playlist)?

Folder Structures in SDCARD

Hi everybody!
I just got my 1st Android Devide (DHD) and already root, clockwork, changed rom, etc. However, my problem is related to the directories structures inside my SDCARD.
I have 2 questions:
1- I moved some apps that I have in my main memory to my SDCARD via App Settings. However, when I go to my sdcard in windows explorer, I don't find these files. I'm not sure then if is really moving to my sdcard. I just realized some new folders, but they are empty. Does anyone knows what I'm doing wrong?
2- The second question it's linked with the first. I would like to organize in my SDCARD a nice folder structure. Something like:
/
/Songs/
/Photos/
/Documents/
/Backups/
/Games/
/Apps/
And then if you go inside the Apps folder, you have another folder with the name of the application. Pretty much like Program Files folder in Windows.
Is this possible? For Songs, Photos, Documents, I created a folder and it worked. But what about for apps and games that I got on the market?
My SDCARD has also a lot of folder/files that were copied when I put the sdcard on the device. I don't know if I can delete that. Any idea?
Thanks for the help in advance!
Moved to Q&A, not dev related.
Anyone?
Any tip?

[Q] TitaniumBackup making wrong folder?

First of all, Im using a nexus 4 and this issue occurs when i install Titanium no matter what rom i am using.
When i install TB, the app works and everything but it doesn't create the Backup folder in /sdcard where all other stuff is like (the music folder, where you put your movies, roms etc etc)
Here is a screenshot of where it creates the backup folder --------> http://imgur.com/Vybd6sY <------ Also i might add, if i delete that folder, it wipes my sd card.
Here is where it creates the backup folder inside "storage" (which doesn't exist until i install TB) http://i.imgur.com/kawfvWb.png inside that folder is http://i.imgur.com/pALplDk.jpg and inside that is http://i.imgur.com/HbvTLc5.jpg
Or am i stupid and this is supposed to happen?
Depending in the Rom this is normal. Different roms set up the built in storage differently. Some do storage some do legacy/storage. This is so you can still use the device while connected to a pc
I'm coming.

Ringtones in SDcard not accessable :(

Hello!
I have a Nexus 5 with LP and a Nexus 4 with KitKat and both are having the same problem which means its not a problem with LP or KK. Its some thing else:
I installed a fresh copy of LP in N5 and KK on N4 and after installation of all software's, everything was working fine. I was able to access the ringtones inside sdcard/ringtones folder. After restarting the phone, I wasnt able to access the ringtones in sdcard/ringtones folder. Then I tried to access those by choosing ESexplorer from ringtones. Now I was able to select the folder sdcard/ringtones but no matter whichever format of file I tried to select, it gave an error "wrong file type, please select again".
The I copied the same files in /system/media/audio/ringtones and still the files were unaccessable. After this I restarted my phone and after that I was able to use the ringtones that I had copied in /system/media/audio/ringtones folder but the ringtones inside sdcard/ringtones folder are still unaccessable.
I hope you got my point. Can anyone please help me as to why am I not able to access the ringtones from sdcard/ringtones folder?
Please help.
Please help guys...

Question. having problems moving files to phone.

Hello guys .
I just wanted to see if this is normal or maybe I'm having a hardware or software issue with my phone.
When I copy my files to my PC sometimes the copy is incomplete and the only way to copy all the files is going to twrp and copy or move the files. Also if I connect the phone and cut and paste the files from the PC to the phone some how it makes a copy of the files in the recycle bin. If I restore the files I can find them in the original folder so now i have a copy in my phone and one in my PC and don't know which is the original.
Just wanted to know if someone else is having this issue. I moved to lollipop and is the same.
Thanks.
