Can anyone help me (step by step) to root Motorola G 4G (gen2) - XT1072?
All I want to do is to root my phone, becouse there is some applications that need root access. I will lose all my data when I root my phone?

Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I can't find a specific root method for your device, but usually all you need to do with HTC devices is go to HTCdev.com and unlock the bootloader, from there you can install a custom recovery and flash SuperSU to gain root access.

while there are no direct tools in XDA for rooting your device... there is an external link shared in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2656597
its a vide tutorial with the instructions if that doesn't work... google search is the last friend

You could try to root it via kingoroot with your PC. This always work for me with any device.
