[APP][ROOT][4.1+] Remote Control Server and Client for TV boxes - Android Apps and Games

This app consists of two packages, a server to be installed on the TV box you wanna remotely control and a client to install on your Android phone or tablet.
The server comes in two flavors: the regular build that requires root permissions to run and the WeTek build that will run with system permissions.
You will need a recent version of Google Play Services (both apps at start will notify you if the provided GMS is outdated and take you to Play Store for update), with no Play Services these apps won't run because make use of some API present there.
This is how it works: once started the server uses UPNP to broadcast its presence, because of this client and server have to be connected to the same network and subnet. Moreover some routers don't route such packages between ethernet and client devices, it's a limitation of your network equipment not a flaw of the app.

Setting it up is pretty straight forward, you just have to press on "START REMOTE CONTROL" button and, eventually, grant it root access.
You can access to settings from the icon in the top right, from there you can enable the automatic start of the remote control at boot and change the server name that you will see when you discover it from a client.
If for some reason the server cannot start you will be prompted with an error message, if everything goes fine you will see this
Client
To start discovery just tap on the big WiFi icon in the middle. You will get an error if you are not connected to a WiFi or Ethernet network. You won't see this discovery button if you device could not connect to Google Play Services.
In the contextual menu of the toolbar (in the top right) you can access to the settings where you can toggle haptic feedback and change the client name.
Once the discovery has finished and has found a server you will see this
Just tap on the device to connect to it.
Note: for security reasons in the server code I restricted access to a single client so you can't connect from two clients at the same time.
Once connected successfully you will be prompted with the remote controls
To close the connection to the server you can use the close button in the top right. The other button is used to send text to the server (it will do something only if the server is focued on a text input field)

[App] WellFTP - Easy wireless PC connection [App]

Well FTP app (free fom the play store)
Ever had a data cable connection fail on you?
Had to fork out for a repair.... Nope.... me neither.
That's because I use an awesome app from the play store to
transfer files between PC/mac and phone via my router.
I know as an avid flasher that constant plugging and unplugging takes its toll
on the microUSB port on the phone which you cant ignore.
After all, its the only way to charge.
You need 2 free components and your router to get this working and
after 2 mins setting it up, it takes seconds to use.
You need WellFTP app available free from the Google Play store.
You also need a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) program.
A popular, easy to use and even better, Freeware FTP is Filezilla.
Install the downloaded filezilla.exe ready to use on your pc/mac.
Assuming you have the WellFTP app on your phone and Filezilla
installed on your pc with a wireless connection via your router:
(1) Activate the app on your phone. It should show the following:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(2) Run the Filezilla program on your PC/mac. At the very top left click File>Site Manager
(3) Click New Site and name the device (mine is HTC One X):
(4) Now enter the ftp server address from your phone screen (eg 192.###.1.76) into the General tab, Host box.
Then type the port number (thats the last 4 digits on the app server address, in my example its 2121) into the Port box.
Press OK.
(5) Select the Site Manager button (directly below the File button) on the Filezilla program.
On the dropdown select your device.
(6) This should activate the server and connect to your phone.
A list of the sd card contents will appear in the listbox on the
right side of the screen and your pc files will show on the left.
(7) You are now connected and can either drag and drop files to/from the phone
contents using the browser windows or straight from your desktop. You will see
the transfer details in the bottom window with eta's etc.
Next time you want to connect your phone via the wifi connection, activate the WellFTP app
on the phone and the filezilla program on your PC.
Select the device from the server dropdown as per setup and it will quickly show the phone files.
Drag and drop till your hearts content.
This isnt new.... its not ground breaking but if it means our phones last a bit longer and
we don't need to return to stock for un-nescessary warranty work its well worth using.
I use this daily for web design etc and so far have had no issues whatsoever.
I am not however responsible if something happens to your phone, your pc or whatever.
Use this software/app at your own risk.
mine!
look well.

Enabling mirrorlink option

Greetings XDA members.
All the progress I've made so far is based on Q&A from your site, so thank you right from the begining.
So here's what I've managed to do so far, starting with the device details:
LG G8S stock ROM (not rooted and boot loader still locked)
Downloaded Total Commander and accessed the root directory
Found two apk files named MirrorLinkServer,apk (the first in /product/app/mirrorlinkserver/ and the second in /system,/product/app/mirrorlinkserver/) - I'm Adding a screenshot of the search results down below
Installed both apk files (each after a factory reset to avoid duality or any other kind of interference)
Got the same result in both cases - When connecting phone to the cars USB outlet, the USB indicator at the notifications bar start flashing but nothing happens (phone screen or car screen)
When disconnecting - a mirrorlink menu appears showing the apps installed but saying they're not authenticated - I'm Adding a screenshot down below
If I'm trying to hit the back button the phone goes to settings but the mirrorlink menu doesn't show there
If I'm plugging the phone back to the car USB socket the "Connect via USB cable" option is trying to switch on automaticlly but goes back off and on again in an endless loop
Hitting the apps trying to authenticate them is doing nothing at all.
when I'm checking the mirrorlink server app in phones settings - It says under Permissions: "No permissions requested"
I believe that here lies the problem - meaning that if i could grant the mirrolink server the necessary permissions (internet access for authenticating the apps and later on for downloading data for the apps themselves; and location for navigation; and so on) then I think it would've worked.
So my main question is - How can I grant the mirrorlink server app permissions, even though none was requested?
However - If you think that I'm wrong or that I've made a mistake along the way - for instance that the mirrorlink server apk must get system app priviliges and therefore must be in /system/app/ folder - Please let me know
thanks,
Jacob

[CLOSED][APP][Need-Help][6] VPN-Server with "Servers Ultimate Pro" - how to configure?

Hi!
The APP Servers Ultimate Pro is runs perfectly on a Samsung smartphone with Android 6. (alternative free version = Servers Ultimate )
Many servers are integrated there. You may have to install extensions. I have already got some servers up and running.
Actually not a bad thing.
Now I want to try whether a VPN server is possible with it! If so, it would be very cool! I need help with the setting!
1.) The server app also needs a "server.conf" or "server.ovpn" = in which directory does it have to be for the app?
2.) I need help with the correct structure of the Conf and how exactly to address the certificates.
3.) How many ports do I have to activate in the router and can I freely choose them?
Was unnecessary!
PLZ close / delet thread
I've been struggling with some of the configurations. I have the web server up and running with Wordpress. FTP works, IRC runs but I can't seem to get myself admin (OP) status. Email, I can't get it to connect, even with the extended ports above 1024. GIT server works, that's where I'm storing the source for my web site, the using FTP to place it in the www directory for the web server. I'm using the DNS on my HAMMESH network to point everything to the Android TV box that the Server apps are running on.
My goal is to have an Android TV box, that I can plug in to an ARDEN Network to provide a Website, local email, chat, storage sharing for disaster photos. Email is the only thing I can't get around. I also have a Le Potato Arm64 board that has Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, running ISP Config. That is my plan B. I may be better off with this route since it supports a 256GB MicroSSD card. I found an X88 TV box on Amazon that has 4GB and 32GB for $40 US, that may be plan C is I can get the email sorted out. I've tested the connection with Telnet ip_address>2525 and getting the connection refused. If I use the tools inside Servers Ultimate Pro, it talks to the email server, If I issue the EHLO command, it responds. So it appears the email server app may not actually be opening the 2525 port like it's configured to. I may try the proxy server, to see it that can route the traffic to the backplane on port 25
I'm testing against my M88 TV box and I can now test the email
