[Completed] N7 (2012) cannot access web page - XDA Assist

I am an old NOOB with a N7 (2012) that belongs to my daughter-in-law. Apparently when installing 5.0.2 (OTA) something went wrong. I believe this because of some logs which I found on the N7.
We have gone through the power reset several times with the same result:
Welcome screen, followed by wifi setup followed by web access error.
I have done a lot of research but can't believe half of what I read.
The only bricks that I know anything about are not soft and cannot do anything except act as a paperweight.
Most of the instructions that I read involve enabling usb debugging which has never been done and obviously the bootloader is locked. If I cannot access the systems settings, what can I do?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

[Completed] No usb debugging, no build.prop, locked bootloader! Huawei g730

Hi I've watched this forum for a long time now for answers and seldom ask for assistance but this time I think I need some advice.
1. accidently deleted the build.prop after fiddling around with it (fun!) this seemed to have caused an issue with com.android.phone. Read heaps of opinions on the internet, regarding that, and figured my cause was a bit unique. So i fiddled some more... and yeah build.prop gone. And of course now ive realised that leads to a phone that cant boot.
2. Researched opinions on what to do next and arrived at using ADB in a few different ways, but im brand new to adb...cut this short did a factory reset - that took usb debugging away, so no more ADB and fastboot tools to try fix it.
3. Huawei ive heard has just started handing out codes, so ive supplied them with all the product details....Can that save me or am i still stuffed? because as it is ive tried flashing and loading zips from recovery with no luck, i assume because the bootloaders locked.
oh its rooted but the bootloaders locked.
Sorry for the rushed tone. been reading and reading all night on this particular mess, so i asked you guys.
Hi there,
I'm sorry but I can't find anything related to your question/device.

[Completed] [Q] Having issues rooting Note 3, not sure what to do.

I am unsure if I bricked my Sprint Note 3, but I tried to roo it with Chain Fire and odin, using Qbking77's YouTube video as a guide. But after the root was complete, 60% of my apps were gone, I can't using any google powered apps, and I can't go into the phones settings. Everything force closes. Honestly, I'm just trying to do a proper root so I can use Cyanogen Mod. Can someone help me revert to before I rooted, and explain the process to get cyanogen?
Thanks.
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. This is the correct root method for your device:
[SM-N900*] CF-Auto-Root
That didn't help. I followed the instructions provided, and downloaded
SM-N900P (Sprint): CF-Auto-Root-hltespr-hltespr-smn900p.zip
Followed the further stated instructions, open odin, and I cannot insert the MD5 file into odin. I was able to before, and now I cannot. Earlier I was able to do so, and as stated above, after I did it several apps disappeared, google play services no longer works, supersu is on the phone, and I cannot access the phones settings. The only thing I can do is use the stock browser. I am asking what to do/what I did wrong/how to fix it/or how to continue. If these questions cant be answered, how do I revert back to stock?

Ok, I misread your initial post, apologies. I think your best bet would be to ask in the Sprint Note 3 q&a section here:
Sprint Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
That way the experts for your device can shine a light on how you should proceed. Try to provide as much detailed and specific information as you possibly can and I'm confident you'll have a good resolution to your problem.

[Completed] Soft Bricked UMI Iron Help

Hi,
I recently bought an Umi Iron and believe I have accidentally managed to soft brick it (based on what ive found on google and the forums here) I need a way to get it working again and have some ROMS (2 official ones) which are compatible for the device. The device will boot into recovery and allows restoration from an SD card, ABD Push or the cache. The cache is empty and although i have searched for how to do it from an SD card i have found no information (I've tried putting the .zip files onto the device and installing those but the device says "installation aborted"). I have a SDK which I am attempting t learn to use in order to fix the device. Any information about how to use the program/get the new ROM flashed via fastboot would be much appreciated as I have very little knowledge of what I am doing as I have never attempted to root or flash a phone. The phone comes pre rooted from the factory (I dont know if this info is relevant but I'm working on the assumption the more info i can give the better). The device entered this startup loop when i removed an app which i had accidentally installed as a system file while trying to use an app to move it to my SD card. Any information and help is much appreciated
Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device and issue, but perhaps the members in this thread can help..

Good luck!
Hi Darth,
Many thanks for your reply, since i posted this thread I have done some further research and narrowed the problem down further. The device runs android 5.1 and there is a setting in the developer settings which locks the OEM bootlocker. This is the issue i am having. Because the device has this option checked, I cannot unlock the bootloader to install a custom rom to rectify the issue as i cannot turn the device on to access these settings. I have seen many people have had this problem with devices and android 5.1 including Nexus and HTC phones. I have been unable to find a fix for this issue though so if you know of any articles which may point me in the direction that would be most helpful
Thanks again
I would say the best place to ask about that is in the thread I linked above. But if that's not helpful, you could ask here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257421
Every device is different as far as if or how the bootloader can be unlocked. So you really need an answer specific to your device.
Hope it works out for you!

[Completed] How do I unbrick my phone?

First of all, I'd like to say that I know very little about how Android, electronics or mobile phones work in general, so everything I've done has been from internet tutorials. Please don't use any jargon as I probably won't know what you mean. ELI5.
A few days ago, I tried to root my phone and it didn't work. As a result the phone went into a boot loop and I didn't know how to fix it. The long and short of it was that I ended up flashing the stock firmware onto my phone and basically doing a complete factory reset. After some time trying this I managed to get the phone to start up and I was able to access the interface and all that. Unfortunately, my WiFi wasn't working (the button would simply turn off whenever I turned it on) so I had no way to download the most recent updates or apps or anything like that. After following several tutorials on how to fix this, such as flashing the modems and bootloader, I still wasn't having any luck. So I tried something that proved to cause even more problems - I tried to install a new kernel. Now my phone won't even boot past the logo. I probably didn't install the right one, but what can I say, it's not very clear which one I need.
Now I'd like to point out that as a layman who just wants his phone to work again, half of the time I don't understand what I'm doing or whether or not I'm doing it right. In other words, I realise that I've probably messed up my phone, but what can I do? I can't take it to a technician because I don't have the money for that, I can't buy a new phone for the same reason and I can't phone up and ask for a replacement because the warranty expired ages ago and I don't have the original documents here.
I've installed the Team Win Recovery Project on my phone and I have Odin installed on my PC as well.
TLDR; yes, I know I'm an idiot and I don't appreciate you telling me. I'd like to reset my phone to how it was before - the normal firmware, the normal kernel and all that, but I'd still like to have root access and keep the TWRP recovery mode too.

Model name: GALAXY S4 LTE
Country: UK
Version: Android 5.0.1
You'll probably need more information, so if you do just let me know and, if possible, where I can find it.
I have some good news. I managed to flash the firmware again and now I can access the phone again. However, the WiFi problem persists. I've tried looking on the internet for a solution, but I can't find one. I've tried flashing the modem and all that stuff, but it still doesn't work.
Oh, and by the way, I no longer have TWRP and I don't think I have root access anymore either (I had to do a data partition wipe as well).
I'd really appreciate a reply from someone. I've tried everything, but to no avail.

[Completed] Order of Steps Setting Phone up new GT-I9505

Hi XDA Community!
I can find information to about almost single topic, but the big problem is, i dont know where exactly to start with and the correct order of all of these steps.
What i wanna do is, like on a pc, format the whole phone, delete everything and set up a custom rom and root the phone.
My first step was trying to root it because i dont know if the root is related to the OS or to the phone kernel.....
I tried the CF-Autoroot procedure from XDA-Forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219803 but i experience the same issue as many other users. When i click start the process starts, but gets stuck immediately when it comes to the imaging step. Then i get no response from my phone or Odin anymore, the bar wont process for hours.
I tried different USB ports, same result. But i can exchange data from phone OS to pc via USB without problems !
So im kind of thrown back now and i dont know what to do or where to start. Can anyone help me ?
5 Years ago i cooked a rom for my Sony Xperia X1 and put it on my phone without any problems lol, and now with Samsung i get only problems.....
