"the process android.process.media has stopped" - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have been lurking this board for long time. I am usually able to figure out how to do stuff by just searching and reading threads. This time I am stumped! I am getting this message over and over again. I can't use the camera. I can't open the gmail app. I can't open the playstore. I have search and tried reinstalling rom, re rooting, reinstalling clockwork, and factory reset. When trying to flash i get the message that the verification signature can't be verified. I have recently found a thread for discussion flashing a kernel, but I can't figure out what kernel or how to flash it because of the signature verification message. Any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated. I have a sprint S5 hardware verson g900P.04. Model SM-G9oop, Android version 5.0. Kernel version 3.4.0-4631307. Knox version 2.3. Build LRX21T.G900PVPU2BOD3
TIA!

[Q] Updates fail from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2

Hi,
A while back I rooted and unlocked using clockwork recovery and installed bigxie_magurTA_JRO03C-signed.zip
All was good for a while until the last month where I continually receive notification to update to 4.1.2
when I choose install, it attempts to reboot and on the recovery mode, I attempt to run the /sdcard/update.zip and it fails due to signature verification failure.
When I disable the signature verification, it states it cannot open the update file as if it is corrupt or not there,
I then tried to put on cyanogen mod, and when that loaded, I could not enter in my gmail profile info.
I then installed gapps on the next attempt to install cyanogen mod 10 and although more apps (google play app) was listed, still could not enter my gmail info anywhere
i have gone back to the 4.1.1 install I mentioned earlier, and it is running fine, but I am still prompted to update, which fails every single time.
Any suggestions on how to update this, I would be happy to go with cyanogen mod, but no idea really where to start.
I searched for the same error messages I was getting, and found a few posts but not solutions or recommendations,
Also, is this going to happen for every single update from this point on since rooting and unlocking the phone? i would prefer to give up more app control if going back to stock builds means not having to give up this much time for every update.
Thanks to anyone that can help.

[Q] JellyBam Installation Problem!

I am a new member to XDA, though I have been to this site countless times before, and finally thought it was about time to join. I am not a noob to rooting or flashing or any of that-though I am still learning.
I have come across a problem and need help. I have a T-Mobile SGS III SGH-T999 and was running 4.1.2 Axis M rom, but I decided try something else. I've been searching for a good debloated stock touchwiz rom with the latest update, but until I find one I wanted to try something I found called JellyBam. Right now I'm back to 4.1.1 stock-I made a rooky mistake and had to reroot, just fyi.
I downloaded the latest JellyBam from get.jellybam.com and flashed it but all I got was, "status (7) error, Installation Aborted". I found out that "status (7)" happens when the phone checks to make sure the rom is compatible and the way to fix it is delete the line of coding above "show progress" in the "updater-script" file that causes the phone to check for compatibility and rezip the package and flash it. When I flash it now, it doesn't check for it to be compatible, which is good, so it goes straight to install. This time I don't get the "status (7) error" but it still aborts installation and I can't find out what's wrong.
I stopped trying to figure out how to get it to work. I just couldn't figure out what's wrong, I kept getting "status 7" and then "status 6"-and I have no clue what that one is-so I went with a rom my father used and I love it. I went with the inFAMOUS rom.
I would still appreciate some help with that whole "status 6/7" problem if anyone knows. Also, if anyone knows of a good debloated touchwiz rom that has the latest 4.2.2 or 4.2.1 tell me cause I've been searching for one and can't find one I like. I would like one that gets the latest updates.
Thanks.

[Q] [XOOM 2] Help needed with Safestrap 3.12

Hello,
I have rooted my Xoom 2 ME and installed Safestrap 3.12 as explained here.
Apparently something went wrong after I tried to restore a backup to the Stock ROM Slot. I now have the Blue (instead of Red) Motorola Logo when I boot, followed by error messages telling me the "UI System" and "Configure" Applications have stopped.
Trying to solve the problem, I did a factory reset from the Stock Recovery Boot and now I see that I have lost all my Safestrap Backups and Slots.
So I have no backups to restore and no other Slots than the Stock ROM, which I cannot boot.
What are my options ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
A quick update on this
I'm having help form runandhide05 who is amazingly kind with me, answering all my questions in PM.
I have a Wi-Fi only 8.2 Xoom 2 bought in France so I have flashed this ROM : 0.268.4.MZ607.Retail.en.FR.
I could boot but when I tried to update OTA it failed. It downloads, start updating and fails so I am stuck in 3.2.2.
Also whenever I reach the page of an application in the Android Market, the Android Market quits.
Finally adb doesn't see my device.
I've tried flashing another ROM with the same result : 0.281.8.MZ607.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU
All this is very new to me, I feel like I have learned a lot in 24 ours but I really have no idea were to go to solve this and feel like I am asking a lot to runandhide05 at the moment so if anyone as "qualified" as him had any idea to help it would be amazing.
… again runandhide05, thank you so much for all your help so far.
Problem solved !
The update succeeded when done via the "Motorola Device Manager" on PC.
After that I could use Google Play without it to quit and adb saw my device again.
I re-rooted and re-installed Safestrap with no troubles.

[Q] Tmo Samsung S4 (SGH-M919) with Google Play Edition, need help

(this belongs elsewhere but 10 posts...)
I have a rooted S4 and just installed Dandvh's Google Play Edition v.20150919 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539361) rom. I used TWRP to install, wiping everything but internal storage, then flashed the rom. Installed fine, no errors. Took the usual bit of extra time to boot the first time then up and running clean and stable. The issue is that the OTA Updater app doesn't work, severely limiting my ROM options. It didn't install as part of the rom install, though I'm not sure if it's normal to just get it off the play store. I get an error message about not being compatible with the ROM and can't access it (error message screen cap below). Just in case, I wiped the phone and flashed again just to be sure, same result. The OTA Updater is important as this is where you can change kernals, audioFX stuff, toggle advanced power menus, and quite a bit more. When I used this ROM during the first part of the year OTA Updater worked just fine but I switched off in July to try another ROM so maybe something with the ROM has changed? I tried searching for any comments in the thread to indicate either that something changed with OTA Updater or if anyone else had a similar problem, found nothing. Would appreciate if anyone might know why OTA Updater isn't working or how I might correct it. Thanks.
Edit #1: I haven't changed the model number to SGH-M919 (as seen in the screen cap) in build.prop yet as if I can't get this ROM to work right I'll need to flash something else.
Edit #2: I noted in the patch notes that the ROM was updated for OTA Updater 2.4.2 and I was running 2.5.3 so I uninstalled it and installed 2.4.2. No luck there either.

I need an odin flashable firmware for my Galaxy Core Prime G360V (Verizon)

I rooted my G360V with Kingroot and changed it over to chainfire's SU. Then I uninstalled something I shouldn't have and kept getting error messages so I decided to do a hard reset. Now, I can't get past the second step in the setup wizard. It recognizes that my sim card has been activated but when I hit next it says, "Unfortunately setup wizard has stopped." I can boot into recovery or download mode but haven't been able to find firmware for my specific model (G360V). I have searched and searched but have not found a way to fix this phone, yet, so I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks
Anything?
Does anyone have anything I can try flashing on the g360v? Is anyone interested in purchasing a lightweight brick?
