Rayovac 10000 mAh BestBuy $19.99 - LG V10 Accessories

I found this while at BestBuy today. I snagged two of them. The unit has two USB ports that output 5 volts at 1.5 amps. Also includes a micro USB cable.

Cable and charger comparison: Samsung, Asus, Blackberry, Monoprice, Anker, PowerGen

I thought I would like to share with others my findings about the USB cable issues and the charging issues also reviewing few products.
I know that it would probably be best with some real table lab equipment but I have tested it with a usb multimeter device : PortaPow USB Power Monitor / Multimeter / DC Ammeter
Showing me Amps and volts.
It is true what is said that the device can detect to a degree the charger
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53917336
So I used combo of software and hardware testing. I also tested with a S3 and S4 rooted (custom roms), and nexus 7 2013 (unique to this charger that it specs the 5v at 5.2! @ 1.35A and it does push more, to other devise as well)
Not all cables are equal; even not all OEM will work past 1A. It seems that most OEM’s cheat by using a shorter micro USB cable to get better charging results, this is the question many ask why so short cables, the OEM’s are only now slowly moving to thicker power wires IE 28/24 in there OEM usb cables.
Now my findings about the PortaPow USB Power monitor and any of the kind, is that it seems to effect the charging Amps of the device and also effect any smart chargers (will talk about below)
In the past I used to use exclusively the “Battery Monitor Widget” by 3c, lately I went and got also “Galaxy Charging Current Lite” for whatever reason my S3 shows as incompatible? Thought it should work on it, my S4 installed and shows max and reference/average
Test 1: S3 Genuine 100% OEM cable (I know because I bought the S3 new @ t-mobile)
Test 2: Claimed Genuine Samsung Micro USB cable 5 feet ECC1DU6BBE
Test 3: Nexus 7 2013 usb cable (is claimed to be a 28/24 AWG)
I was skeptical about the Claimed Genuine cable, and though it looks and feels just like the real thing, it varies in the logo and length. Performance wise has shown consistently of a 0.1-0.15A lower than the Genuine Samsung cable that I have from S3. This was done with the USB power monitor and with the Galaxy Charging Current Lite app, it even said 860mAh vs 760mAh when I tested the cables, but genuine cable did push up more power and the software was wrong as I have seen over 1.13A with USB Power monitor, but as said the real Genuine cable was better.
The Nexus 7 2013 micro USB cable that is short, performed the best, gave the max Amps out of all the cables. I will test my Monoprice 28/24 cables and update this thread.
Quick tests of chargers:
Car charger form Amazon,
PowerGen White Dual USB 4.2A (20W) Car charger Designed for Apple and Android Devices
I quickly tested to see if this thing will push past 1A and it did at the time I was testing with nexus 7 and its cable with the usb power meter, and It was pulling around 1.13A
Next up single wall charger, I saw this and had to buy!
Blackberry Folding Blade Charger for Playbook rated at 5v @ 1.8A! priced under $5!!!
I tested this one with the software on my S4, it quickly showed after few min pulling 1.4A and Galaxy charger showed maxed out 1900 on all!
I think this one wins for the cheapest and sturdy charger, just shy of 2A!, will become my work charger, the cable is nice and thick along with pretty good length 6ft+!
Next up I had to get me a family charger (4-5 port)
I get tired of short cables on wall chargers, so I went and got
Anker® 40W USB Desktop Charger
This charger claims a total of 40w for 5 ports! With intelligent device detection PowerIQ.
This charger so far (1 day use) has been great, I connected the S3 and the power meter showed 1A, I connected the S4 with the meter and was only getting 1.13-1.3A, the software did not show max, so here is the issue seems the usb monitor will cause the charger to not read the devices to there 100%, after taking it out and connecting it directly the galaxy charger showed maxed 1900mAh
The USB cable used was the nexus 7 one.
What I love about this charger, no lights! Perfect for me for overnight charging, also has standard power cord, the unit itself is quite compact too, now I can have short usb cables 1.5ft or 3ft ones and not worry about reach, as the charger can stay next to your devices, simply use conventional power cable extender on the charger unit, not on your usb devices!
I will conclude that it seems now since we are pushing past the usb spec for charging, that the shortest cable is best, be it 28 awg or 24 awg, and of course OEM’s already knew that, I am pretty sure that the OEMs are switching to 28/24 awg cables

if people are interested, I can designate some time and take few pics of the monoprice cables, and show why they fail, its obvious but need a good pic to show the reason, maybe we can find a way to fix them?
the cables are great, the connectors look great at first but are not so great
I just ordered the Anker 40W USB Desktop Charger on Amazon with same day shipping for $5.99. Thanks for your review!

ah yes I searched item#221456227839
that was even better bargain heh
the USB cable is as important as the plug. I use an ANKER 4-port plug with a factory S4 cable. It runs at 1900, same as if I used the factory S4 plug. I ran a whole experiment too. I had a USB cable IDENTICAL to my S$ cable, and it only charged at 320 with the same ANKER or S4 plugs. My S4 has a popup telling me to use a better charger

Belkin and Anker cables recommended
My experience with Type-A to Type-C cables with my Nexus 5X:
I initially tried a 1m Bestek cable which was very inconsistent for charging and got returned. My suspicion is that it didn't meet the Type-C resistor spec.
I have had good experiences with a 1.8m Belkin cable (but v. expensive) and several 1m Anker cables (mid-price).
I ordered the revised Orzly cable last night from Amazon (the individual one, not the 4 pack - don't need that many right now). I know the Pixel C comes with a charging cable, but I wasn't sure if the power adapter was removable to use for data transfer. Either way, it'll be nice to have the extra cable as I'll keep the power one plugged in by my bedside and keep the other one with the other USB cables by my computer.
I'm thinking about getting this:
http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Digi...d=1449677741&sr=8-2&keywords=Kingston+DTDUO3C
I already have a OTG cable that I bought for my Nexus 6P but this looks like it would be pretty handy on the go. Does anyone have any experience with this storage stick?
Got my Pixel C today (in UK) and can confirm the charger doesn't have a cable that removes :-\
Update 11/12 got a type c to c and type c to a data/charging cable today, the c to c works fine and the data transfer speeds are ace, approx. 30 secs per 1gb of data from pc to laptop on a usb 3.1 port and around 40 secs per 1gb the other way, this is the cable I got: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B014P2DBJA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
I also bought an A to C cable too, this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B011TH8BB2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 and no joy at all geting it to work as a data cable, tried using every type A port (usb 2 & 3) on my gaming pc and on a work laptop too, the Pixel shows as if it is charging for a split second then nothing. Tried to same cable with a numerous wall socket/chargers and same behaviour, so faulty/non-compatible cable I guess. Anyone have a link to a working type A to C cable (UK) please ?

I can confirm the Bestek A to C cables don't work well. See my post above for UK A to C cables. Belkin is pricey but excellent, Anker is mid-price.
Search for Benson Leung on amazon.com. He has tested many USB C cables.

Sorry missed your link before, I ended up with this Orzly one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B018F8BDFE only had the red one in stock! lol But to be fair it will stop me getting it mixed up with an old/standard one! Works great for both data and charging (using a wall socket with type a or via pc).
I have the red Orzly too, it smells like a chewing gum, from an outdoor vending machine. The tool CheckR told me that this one is not recommended using with the Pixel.
As I initially bought it for my 1+2 phone, I can't blame me too much in that case.
Can I use inbox typc c to type a USB + female USB a couples as a otg ? Will the type c resistor suits this config ?
If you are in Australia, I picked up one of these Belkin cables from JB HiFi, very expensive but been spot on for both data and charging the device

Play it safe and don't spend a lot of money. I recommend this USB A to C cable from Belkin F2CU032BT06, comes in various colors and it is USB-IF certified..
Can be bought for about $10 shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/Belkin-MIXIT...W/322397095951
I also own this 6 pack and they have worked well with my Pixel XL and the Pixel C https://www.amazon.com/1-6ftx1-3-3ftx4-6-6ftx1-Hi-speed-ChromeBook/dp/B01MG36MBZ
I just ordered some of these https://www.amazon.com/CHOETECH-1x1-6ft-4x3-3ft-1x6-6ft-OnePlus/dp/B01N4E9AN6 and https://www.amazon.com/Cable-CHOETECH-Packs-3-3ft-Braided/dp/B01LX8GCZ5
Listed in this deal alert http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/0...-type-c-cable-multi-packs-sale-amazon-35-off/
Got in my Choetech 3pack and 6pack USB A to Type-C today. Man great sturdy build same as the C-C version. The braided is so nice, and transfer speeds on both cables are whopping fast! Good charging, tested several different brand OEM chargers. I ordered these after seeing they were on sale again on a slickdeals post and though I'd take advantage.
UPDATE: using the USB Device Tree Viewer application on Windows 10 I am able to see this cable is able to negotiate SuperSpeed on my ASUS Z97-A. Dirty testing transferring a 1GB zip file from the PIXEL C to my Samsung EVO 120 SSD it takes roughly 20 secs to complete. By comparison it takes twice as long in Highspeed USB ports roughly 42 secs to complete the same test. Similar results as my Belkin 3.1 ss10 cable.

5V 3A Type A Wall Plug

So I bought the USB 2.0 A to C iOrange-E 6.6 Ft (2M) Braided Cable on Amazon just now and realized that I still need a type A wall plug that is 3A rated so I can get fast charge. In wake of the Benson reviews I have no idea what wall piece I should be using.
Any help??
It doesn't exist. Currently only C to C cables can support 3 amps.
I've got a 2.4A 4 port USB A charger from mPow I've been using for about a year, folding plug, very nice, seems to charge everything quickly. I'm charging my new RavPower battery with it now. When my 6P shows up next week I'll give it a shot with my new iOrange cable. I highly recommend this charger as a travel charger though, been magical.
I should note, it does say 5V 5A on it.

Using non Samsung charger with micro USB to type C for S8+ any danger

Hi all, I have bought my s8+ from the secondary market without any accessories. I wanted to buy the original charger then got a bit overwhelmed by the jungle of ''genuine' ' offerings on ebay, and whilst I needed to charge this beast ASAP I have bought one of those micro USB to type C plug adapters and used and still use my LG g4 charger with a micro USB cable (from amazon kindle) plus this adapter.
Now it occurred to me that I might be doing something wreckless here and I am a bit worried.
The Samsung original one has input of
100V - 240V with 50/60Hz 0.6 A
OUTPUT - 5V - 2A
9V - 1.67 A
My LG charger has
Input
100V - 240V 50/60Hz 0.3A
OUTPUT - 5V - 1.8A
As far as I can tell I have a lower amperage and it should be fine..
The charger one time showed fast charging but it didn't ever since and it usually takes 2 hours and 5 minutes for a full charge.
Should I stop using this charger and invest in a Samsung one?
Don't really want to if I don't have to since this has such a good battery, I only plug it in every 36 hours or so.
You should be ok but may not get a fast charge. The main thing I've noticed is it's important to get good quality cables, not cheap ones. I'm using Anker ones as backup. I bought what I thought was a Samsung charger but it heated up and on closer examination seems like it may not be.

Am I the only one not giving a damn about chargers? [emoji16]
I bought one from eBay...paid £5 and it has 3 usb ports (one quick charge).
I use in the car and at work the usb micro to c adapters...not a problem (I don't care about having the quick charge).

I prefer the lower voltages. In my opinion it's better for the battery
