Hi folks, I need some help in here.
I've used Amplify to deal with wakelocks, alarms and services. Everything seems to be in order as I configured it. But yet I see awake time in Batterbatterystats. Can anyone help me figure out which process is causing the awake time?
Screenshoots are attached.
Thanks
I don't see any problem on your device. 33% awake = 28% screen on + rest 5% push notifications, sincronizations, facebook, etc... it sounds reasonable, don't think so?

I had same problem b4. The Android OS keep staying awake all the time and causing battery drain. They flashed stock rom few times till everything back to normal.
BBS includes screen on time in total awake time. You're looking very good actually. I usually see awake at roughly 150% of screen on.

After I unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone it started draing quite a lot of battery, moving from 100% to 85% in less than an hour. Is that normal ?
Is that with the screen on? 15% per hour is normal playing games or watching movies.
Nuthin' but a 'Moto G' thang
Screen was not always on i used it normally didn't play games or anything. Maybe it's because I only xharged it twice does it need calibration or something ?
Unlocking and rooting wont have a direct impact on battery usage.

Have you checked for wakelocks. You could use CPU Spy to make sure your phone is entering deep sleep. 15% battery drain in one hour in standby is not normal.

Having the same issue. Phone's not entering into deep sleep for some reason. It's brand new with nothing installed on it except for cpu spy. so I dunno what's keeping it.

factory reset - always worth a try. Or wake lock detector to see what's keeping it awake. I had issues with battery when I switched from one WiFi network to another and no wake locks showing. Factory reset magically fixed it.
See here

I know your device is brand new but I'm sure some junk sometimes gets in cache or something like that. Think I'd be inclined to always factory reset a brand new phone now.

I think to be fair, the phone was updating it's OS. It's not everyday normal usage.
I have an issue with my battery too... Media Server is always on for some reason and is keeping the phone awake all the time :/
I have stock android Non rooted. I turned off Google now, reduced the number of apps that automatically sync. Put display down to 15 percent brightness.
I have no idea whats causing this:
Down to 70 percent so far today.

I did some youtube, gaming etc. Obvisouly not THAT much given my low screen on time.
Even without vid watching, it drops about this much each day.
THe only way Im gettign by is by having a wireless charger so i constantly charge it.
Do you have the SendHub app by any chance? It was sapping up my battery and I have better results after I froze it with Titanium.
I have a rooted, stock, and tweaked 32GB Nexus 5.

I..dunno. I never touched any of those settings.
Is the CPU over clocked?

He said he's stock people lol.
I dunno I'm stock and I get great battery life. Have you tried going to settings / apps and then running. It will show processes that are running and the CPU time, look for something taking up an lot of CPU time.

It's obviously the screen doing most of the damage. How bright is your phone set to again? Just 15? I can see the dips when your screen is on and for an hour of screen on time, that's not out of the question on a device that only totes about 5 hours max of screen on time.
Also why are your fonts so huge? Accessibility settings? If you're not rooted and running stock you need to be checking background processes. Id recommend maube looking into rooting and installimg a custom kernel so you can check and adjust a cpu governer to make sure your CPU isn't running faster than it needs to. You could also possibly stand to undervolt a bit.
Edit: made some errors my bad

Speculations until we see a BetterBatteryStats log. Get us one of those if you want real answers. Using the device while gathering the data for the log can obscure the issue, so gather a log overnight. That awake time is troubling.
Is Google Now keeping the phone awake? Mine sometimes hangs up and I have to force close the app or restart the phone.

Yes there were a few apps that had a lot of time, the keyboard, Box.com app, facebook, and a few others. But I didn't bother with it too much because the idle time isnt that bad. The battery goes down quickly two ways: 1. Screen on time. 2. Me checking it every few minutes wakes everything up I guess and lowers it really fast.
What do you mean by "some Youtube"? 15 mins or an hour?
And did you check the Mediaserver runtime? I had a battery issue with my Nexus 5 on stock ROM too and the reason was the permanent Mediaserver activity.
Sadly, I couldn't figure out the reason. Maybe there is a corrupt file on your storage and it keeps scanning or an app is not really compatible with 4.4...
I switched to a custom ROM and the problem was gone...

Well, the screen on time was about 45 mins...Id say about 30 min of Youtube.
Its not mediaserver usage. the biggest thing is the screen I think. Ive been trying to find apps that run in the background and uninstall them as well.

I am running Skyfall with stock kernel. I was getting decent battery life, but today noticed that phone was awake for 2 of the 4 hours that it was off the charger. I have gsam and wake detector and wake detector shows nothing crazy that wakes it. I did disable location reporting, so maybe that might be pissing off some apps? I have not installed any new apps, only change was location reporting.
Thanks in advance.
Here is what I use,

Works great for helping to find those pesky apps.

Was it doing it before you installed gsam? I installed it and my battery went downhill. After I removed it battery got dramatically better.

For clarification, you're saying that gsam was killing your battery? I'm trying to figure out if it's killing mine lol. But I have no other way of seeing my screen on time :/

It seemed like it. I installed it while I still had BBS running. While I was running GSAM my awake time was about 2.5 hours out of just under 4 hrs total and the phone was just in my pocket most of the time. After I removed it and rebooted the awake time stayed proportional to the time I was actually using it. Other than turning on WiFi optimization I can't think of anything else I did. So it may have been either one but I didn't have WiFi optimization on before I installed GSAM and my battery life was okay.

I have tried with and without gsam. I flashed the lastest firmware and radios and also the snapdragon app that monitors your use and is supposed to save on battery and today I got 3 hours of SOT, off charger for 16 hours and still have 55% left. And wake time back down to normal use. Im about to flash the latest Skyfall so we will see how things go on that build.
So started getting bad wake locks again. I looked and saw media server using a good portion. I have 0 media on my phone as I just stream. Anyone else seeing this issue?
I know this has been a major issue with this phone, but wanted t o see what i am getting is normal if not what can i do to make it normal.
Right now I am getting roughly 2 hrs SOT, with bluestooth, wifi, location disabled and auto brightness. GSAM shows avg SOT is 2hrs and avg battery life is 11hrs (6hrs active time).
I have wifi connecting on and off based on where i am. I have disabled location too after seeing gps kicks off every so often and there is slight dip in battery life as per gram. I have factory reset once before but nothing changed.I am on 5.1.1. Not rooted, running completely stock. I have disabled most bloatware.I am at loss of ideas now.
Pls help.
Sounds like a faulty phone. Could be the battery. Did you try wiping everything from the OEM recovery as well?
Can you post a screenshot of the battery sucker screen from within GSam?

Seems to work ok.
Keep you informed
edit 21:12: Few days working now. No problems so far. I like the improvement on settings, like alternative face in recognition part, for the rest I am not very thrilled. Maybe battery will be better. Difficult to check...

I test my phone's battery always the same way. Not sure if it is the best way, but it helps me:
I charge it to 100% before going to sleep and leave everything like Sync, Wifi and Bluetooth on.
With GSAM I got 0.7 till 0.8% per hour while sleeping, so from 100 till appr. 94% left.
With Android 10 it started at .1% per hour discharging, but it is is back now at 0.8%. Thats is OK to me.
Be careful. It is location dependent. I have another appartment that gives me 0,12% all the time because (I think) Vodafone antenna is further away.
