Hi, I have an S6 that is sim locked. I also have a sim unlock code that works, but I have to enter it every time I restart the phone. Is there a way to permanently unlock the phone using that code?

I got a unlock code for my t mobile my touch 3G so I can use another carrier. When I tried to unlock it would not even show me the unlock code screen. I did a factory reset. did not help. I took battery out, out back in and restarted. first with no sim/ next with sim that I got with new carrier. Screen that should come up to unlock sim WILL NOT appear. If you mean SIM unlock, it's not the SIM that's locked or unlocked, it's the phone. The phone is locked to 1 carrier, and it will only communicate with SIM cards from that carrier. In order to enter the SIM unlock code, you must be running a stock ROM. After you unlock the phone, you can use any SIM.
In order for the phone to prompt you for an unlock code, you may need to insert an unexpired SIM card from another carrier.
If you're talking about unlocking bootloader, s-off, rooting, that kind of stuff, that's unrelated to, and independent of, SIM unlocking.

Hello all,
I just received my sim unlock code from my provider because my phone has a simlock.
They said in the email that I have to put in a foreign simcard, enter the code of that simcard and then I have to see a screen where I can type the simlock code.
Unfortunately that screen doesn't show up.
My HTC Sensation XE is rooted and I have Android 4.2.2 from Albinoman887.
Is there another way to enter the code to unlock my simlock?

I may be wrong but I think this is most likely operators fault..
You could always try another ROM and see where that gets you.
After that there is always the option to go back to stock ROM.

For HTC the only way to insert the unlock code is after the phone asks for it,with another sim inside.Is a common problem not to ask for code if you have another rom installed so restoring to the stock rom should allow you to insert the unlock code

Try a different (non-AT&T/Rogers) SIM for starters...
I recall a "No SIM" method kicking around, I just have to remember it.
UPDATE: From offsite...
If your phone does not ask for the unlock code:
1. Turn on the phone with original Sim card or without Sim card
2. Enter #7465625*638*NCK/Network#
The phone is now unlocked.
If your phone does not ask for the unlock code:
1. Turn on the phone with a foreign (Unaccepted) Sim card
2. Then enter the following sequence:
#0199*Unfreeze/Defreeze#
#0111*NCK/Network#
#0121*SCK/Subprovider#
#0133*SPCK/Provider#
The phone is now unlocked.

According to the phone specs versus the Vodaphone frequencies, you may be stuck with 2G as well.

Yikes. Try without a SIM, and see if the message (including the lockscreen msg) is any different.
You may have a bent or broken pin in the SIM tray...
