Here is the double tap to wake installer. Just install this apk, open it up and move the slider to the right. (It's written in Chinese) Then you will be able to double tap the screen when the screen is off to wake up the phone.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/flr6nvtmi7gaab6/DoubleTapToWake-GEM-703L.apk?dl=0
I have also decompiled the apk and changed everything from Chinese to English. Put this file in your system/app folder and make sure to set the permissions. Then restart your phone. I am integrating it into my KangVIP ROMS later tonight.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fq30aijcf0cqnw5/HWMotionWakeup.apk?dl=0
**If you have erratic screen touches after installing this, it is a problem with some of our phones when enabling double tap to wake. It works well on some and some it doesn't play nice with. If you experience erratic touch screen issues simply open the app and toggle the switch back to the left**

It won't work on your P8 Max as is. I'd have to port it over but I have no time right now. Maybe in the next few weeks I can make a debloated ROM for the P8 Max but I don't own the phone so it's difficult.

In About Phone tell me what the kernel version says and which model of X2 are you using. Also what system are you on (B109, B110)
It looks like this. I have a 702L and now it says B110 after cust update (it said b109 before, I didn't try the double tap then though). I am on KangVIP slim.

I'll send u a flashable universal cust zip that you can try...give me a min. With the cust, you can tell which version of cust your phone is using. Yours says it's a GEM-703L which means you're using the 703L cust which is in cust/dualcu/cn. if you're on the 702L cust it will say you are using a 702L in the model category. If you flash this and it doesnt do anything i'll make you a flashable cust for your 702L only.

Your original cust that you backed up in the hw folder is there a seas and spcseas folder in there? In data/cust put the seas folder in there in TWRP so the permissions are correct. If that doesn't work put the spcseas folder in there.

When I go to data/cust, it jumps to cust/dualcu/cn. Should I put the seas folder in there (there is no such folder in there now, see screenshot)?
When you say TWRP, do you mean a plain copy-paste, or is it there another way? How should the permissions look like after copying?

Go to Mount and mount data and cust. Go into Advanced, and File Manager. Delete everything in data/cust. Then go into cust/hw/seas and copy everything from there into data/cust, then reboot. If that doesn't work i'll give you a zip u can just flash that will delete your current cust and replace it with the 702L one.

Sorry, not working... I've tried both with seas and spcseas, both from trwp and with solid Explorer, both with permissions -rwxr-xr-x and -rw-r--r-- (folders always drwxr-xr-x)
Do you need my cust folder to make the flashable, or do you have a standard stock that you think will work?
Man, thank you for helping, I start feeling this is too much asking...

Well, it is working now... I installed B111 and cust B111 and I got into bootloops, so I restored my nandroid backup B109. Now the app is working (although phone info says B111).
So it is weird, something with my cust doesn't really want to work...

Hello,
My brother and I both have d2gs. I changed/removed apps in the system/apps folder as a result I was unable to upgrade to 2.4.3. My brother hasn't changed anything or rooted. If I copy his folder and overwrite my directory will I be able to update? (His phone is already updated)
Thx
Not going to work. Update updates bootloader, recovery and kernel beside system.
My advice if you can't get system stock manually is flash SBF, then update OTA

I think Vexorg might mean the system/apps folder, which he or she modified to disable bloatware. It seems that removing apps from that folder makes the update fail. One should rename the apps instead to disable (e.g. CityID.apk -> CityID.apk.bak) so the original state can be recovered when updating.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in that case copying the brother's system/apps should work fine. I've read that you can download the same APKs online to recover them, so I would imagine using the brother's directory contents should be fine as well.

Hey guys,
I think I accidentally deleted the people system APK?! I can no longer save contacts. Wondering what the best way to fix this issue would be without flashing back to stock rom. I am currently rooted and running stock 4.4.2 KK, but I have made a lot of MODS and am running the Galaxy Gear Manager for my watch which is a huge process to get running that I don't want to have to repeat.
Any help is mucho appreciated!!!
If you can find the apk somewhere install that. Otherwise flash the system.img from the factory image.

No, it'll reinstall all the system files. If you modified any of them you'll lose that but I doubt you modified any. This will only work if your bootloader is unlocked. If it isn't then you'll lose everything unlocking it.

Do you still need help with this? It's not that difficult to just pull the app and move it into the right system folder. Once you do that, change permissions to match the other apps, and reboot, you should be back to normal. I'll post the apk if you need it.

You can pretty much just download any ROM available, extract the Contacts.apk file (I think its in system/priv-app/) and put it on your device.

He might not be in a situation where he can download a large file like a complete rom. He did mention being at work. Anyway, these should work:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9903887/Apps/Contacts.apk
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9903887/Apps/Contacts.odex
If you are deodexed, let me know, and don't use just the apk ^ there or it will force close constantly.
Just use a file manager that has root access (ES File Manager is a good, free choice, if you don't have another) and move the app and odex file to:
/system/priv-app
Make sure to change the permissions. The 3 Read options should be checked and the first Write option. If you aren't sure, just read the permissions of another app in that folder and match it. Then just reboot and should be back to normal.

Dumb question, but did you reboot?
I tried to modify the build.prop lines, I can save it successfully and I can see the build.prop content updated without problem. But after reboot my Mate 9, all my modifications were gone and restored to original. Are all those files under /system on Android N or Huawei require special tricks to modify? Because I also found that I am unable to add new file under /system directory, any new file created will be removed after reboot. Sorry for my dumb questions, I am new to Huawei and Android N... THANKS
Doesn't editing the build.prop require root? Are you rooted?

Yes, my Mate 9 is rooted. The build.prop can be modified and saved before reboot, I can see all changed by reading the file. But the file will be replaced with original unmodified one after reboot... I also tried to modify an XML file under /system/emui/base/xml/ with same problem.

You can't make any changes to the system partition directly... This is why we need to root with a systemless root procedure. It is also the reason why adaway and other things that modify system don't work.
One way around it is to unpack the system partition, modify it, and repack and then flash it. Big pain to do that though so I have not tried myself. Also OTA updates would no longer work right.

You have to modify the oeminfo, and then repartition (partitions layouts vary between regions) and flash the firmware with eRecovery. FunkyHuawei can handle the repartition and the flashing with eRecovery.

They changed a lot when they went to Android N, unfortunately.
The real build.prop is under vendor, not system. Just for information.
I had my Huawei Mate 9 bricked, tried several firmwares but always get a message "Software install failed. Get help from http://emui.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore", finally found a firmware in this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...o-bootloop-t3534594/post70465883#post70465883 with this link drive.google.com/open?id=0B9GG_Oe0gQDyUWlCS3lTRm5IOUE
This firmware unbricked my phone but now I have EMUI 3.1 Android 5.1 and my model number change from MHA-L29 to M300-L29 , also says that my phone only has 2 GB RAM
My compilation is MHA-L29BC605B111a
How can correctly restore my phone?
Thanks in advance

When you do oeminfo backup ,you should have a folder name twrp, inside this folder there is many subfolders.
In last folder there is 2-3 files, those files should be replaced with c636 oeminfo that you have downloaded from first page.
Once replaced, put this folder on ur sd card and boot to twrp recovery than restore it.

Great
It ends up in recovery mode so I just turn it off and boot up again and it says update failed. I realize it will lose root so I'll have to reroot but will it lock the bootloader again also? I'm just tired of seeing it everyday want to update so figured I'd let it do it but it does't seem to work. Is there a manual update file somewhere? I googled but I can't find it. Should I find the complete rom and re-install the newest version?

Bootloader will stay unlocked. If it's an OTA it's trying to install it will fail IF it wants to patch ramdisk as you're rooted.
You can restore stock ramdisk and it should update correctly, but I'd use FullOTA instead for best compatibility.
You can install FullOTA either using HWOTA or installing TWRP (by Pretoriano80 as it has decryption support) and use HuRUpdater script to update.

And HuRUpdater is found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
TWRP can't install huawei update.zips by default, so you'd have to download firmware then use HuRUpdater to flash it.

I found the files where you said, thanks. update_data_public.zip, update_MHA_L29_hw_usa.zip, and update.zip
When I read the instuction it calls for 3 files 2 of which are already spelled out correctly but looks like I need to rename the MHA file to update_all_hw.zip is this correct?
It also says to put the recovery image in the same folder if I want to keep custom recovery so sounds like it will wipe it if I don't. I'll have to download twrp 3.2.1-0 again
Ok this is interesting, I have 2 files in data with 6 digit names 151465 and 161808 and both have the 3 files but they are of different sizes but the exact same names as I mentioned before. Maybe better to go to the website you mentioned or I'll screw something up with them.
Figured out how to open the file list and can see the 3 files now so I'll get all 3. Update.zip is 2gb is that right? It's gonna take like 5 hours it says.

When I click on the "update" hyperlink it just opens a new page and doesn't seem to start downloading. Maybe I need to do something else?

Rename the zip with HW in its name to update_all_hw.zip and Public to update_data_public.zip.
If recovery.img is present in the same dir as guru it will flash it back to recovery_ramdisk after update is flashed. It's to save a step so you don't have to reboot to fastboot to flash it again.
/data/update includes old/partial downloads too. So if you for example have used eRecovery before to download, but cancelled it, the update is still there. Same goes for system update. I would rather use firmware finder/teammt because you know those are completed zips.
On the site you can click on file list to show links to downloads, the update link rarely works anymore. It just parses data from hicloud but for some reason the update link always points to front page (or to search results if you have searched).
So just copy paste the update, public and Hw l29 links into a new tab to download.

That's correct.
It's going to erase everything isn't it? Rename the TWRP to "recovery" right? Since it's already a .img file I imagine I don't need to add ".img" right?

Updating doesn't wipe. And HuRUpdater will tell you if it should wipe, it will also tell you if it will lock bootloader.
Yes, if you don't have "show extentions" turned on in Windows just rename it to recovery.

It didn't erase anything woooo hoooo. Thank you. I did loose root which will be easy to put back on. At the end if installing everything automatically there were 2 buttons on the bottom. One was erase cache/dalvik I think and the other was reboot so I just rebooted to be safe. Figured if it was buggy I could always go back and erase the cache/delvik but looks fine. Just checked and my TWRP is there so all is good
