Hello,
I do have a question for the dialer from EMUI: is there any possibility to hide the "Hotline Numbers" and eventually the "Groups"?
This are eating space from main screen and I would prefer to have 2-3 more favorite contacts visible in this screen than this not useful information.
Thank you all!

I think I know the answer to this already, and if I'm right, it's a bit pap!
The Favourites tab in Manila 2.5 allows you to add contacts there, as per previous versions of Manila. The problem I have is that you can't just add a person. You have to add a contact method for a person.
For example, I add my mate Chris, but I sometimes call him, sometimes text him, and sometimes email him. In order to create a shortcut where I can do these things, I need to create one for each of them, and therefore have 3 shortcuts for 1 person.
I've really looked round to see if there are any settings that could change this crappy behaviour, but as far as I can see, it's just poo.
Anyone got any words of wisdom on this matter?
I'm not a fan of this little feature either, but the way I get deal with it is by tapping the NAME of the contact, not the contact picture. this will take you to the contact's info (i.e. the unified communications screen you normally get after selecting a contact) from there you'll be able to email/call/text them
Hello,
I am desperately looking for a dialer / contacts app, which has the following features:
- Display the Names of contacts, TOGETHER with their phone numbers.
- Provide a detailed call summary (time of outgoing calls / incoming calls, all calls, SMS counter!)
- Has the ability to allow calls and SMS messages ONLY for certain contacts, so that only a few people can disturb me while I'm sleeping.
I don't care if this will be a paid or a free app.
I'm new to Android, my previous phone had WM 6.1 and I'm really DESPERATE how poor the contacts and dialer of Android are!!! I don't need a 4.3" screen to see the names of my contacts as HUGE banners, but to see as much info as possible on the screen (like the phone numbers of my contacts!!) Nokia had this in 1998 !!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot for all your replies and I apologize if I have posted this in the wrong thread.
i don't know if this will do all that your asking but ex dialer is really good, my friend likes go dialer/contacts. i hope this helps.
Hello,
thank you VERY MUCH for your reply!! I'll give your recommendation a try!!
Meanwhile, I have tested several application and Rocket Dialer is the closest one to my expectations.
I'm using just the contacts app. For dialing/keypad, the original app is OK, I found out that it has at
least counters for outgoing and incoming calls, no SMS counter though.
For blocking calls, I've downloaded Call Blocker, which has a whitelist, this is all I needed. I can put
2 numbers on the white list and disable all other incoming calls.
Thanks again!
Hello,
I've checked this ex Dialer and it's really potatic... Again ONLY names of the contacts and no option to change this.
There is also another program - DW Contacts. This is really a high-end app with a lot of options and highly customizable. I didn't find a way to display all the letters on one side of the screen for faster index search, as Rocket Dialer has it.
So, for me, Rocket Dialer is OK.
Try "Dialer One" by Yermek Zhumagulov. It displays "contacts, TOGETHER with their phone numbers", the way you want. You can have different colors for the contact and the phone nos. Seleting two stand-out colors, I found it very easy to read them against the dark background (selectable). Pretty cool and very fast. I'd been trying many dialers and uninstalled all of them after spending half-an-hour with this one.
Thanks a lot! I have looked at the screenshots on google play. It would do, but I prefer Rocket Dialer. It has many amazing options, together with the black list Thanks anyway! Now I'm searching for a task manager to be able to list all running processes and kill them

The new phone dialer in Android 4.4 KitKat allows you to rearrange the order of your "Starred in Android" contacts. The original order that my contacts were in on the dialer seemed to be mostly arbitrary. It wasn't alphabetical. It wasn't in order of when the contacts were added. It wasn't in the order of most recent contacted. I can't see a pattern to the order at all.
Naturally I want to reorder them as best makes sense. But I find that I cannot move the contacts in the bottom of the list at all. They simply don't move when long pressed. I found the point in the middle of the list at which the contacts no longer become movable and it only allows the first 20 to move.
This is a very restricting limit. I have about twice this number of starred contacts in Android. The limit is also not enforced other than this inability to reorder them after this number.
This limit causes the feature to be able to reorder to be more confusing than the original alphabetical arrangement because now at least half my contacts have absolutely no known order to them at all, other than what was originally randomly decided by the OS.

Hi, i would like to announce my new app ICE on lockscreen - Widget
This widget allows you to add up to 4 ICE contacts on the lock screen.
Just one click - on contact icon, and phone will call selected contact. No need to unlock the screen, even if it is locked with pattern / photo / PIN!
1.Create your account on your phone or Google contact group called ICE,
2.add up to 4 people to this group
3.place the widget on the lock screen.
What is ICE?
From Wikipedia:
In case of emergency (ICE) is a program that enables first responders, such as paramedics, firefighters, and police officers, as well as hospital personnel, to contact the next of kin of the owner of a mobile phone to obtain important medical or support information (the phone must be unlocked and working). The phone entry (or entries) should supplement or complement written (such as wallet, bracelet, or necklace) information or indicators.
