I just bought a new phone and need to unlock it's network for my SIM card to work with it, then rooting, custom ROM and tweaking it, xposed etc etc.
Some of my friends say flashing new firmware overrides this and I'd save a time but I doubt it.
I appreciate everyone's help answering or helping me with the problem.
Thanks in advance.
Yeah, I already know the GET CODE part and figured it out in the meanwhile, I remembered that i rooted and flashed and my old phone is still locked. Thanks for assistance anyway.
Now I am trying to understand the procedure to unlock it, how codes are generated. If some guy online can unlock it with just my carrier and IMEI number then I maybe able to do so myself.

My first post here. if I am in the wrong area or doing this incorrectly someone please kindly assist me to move this or delete. Maybe guide me to another post or thread may be more helpful. I have another note 4 that is US Cellular it is an SM - N910r4. I am attempting to change it over to carrier free so I can put it on straight talk. USC is unwilling to unlock the device all the way up to the office of the president. I wish to know how to edit the device so that I can put it in a new sim that will make it carrier free or straight talk. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 25 years of the best repairing windows and now a complete noob at Android. I will spend the rest of my life learning to master this wonderful new operating system.

Hello everyone!
I'm a student at Warsaw University od Technology and I make a living by buying broken phones, fixing them and selling further. But now I'm in a situation I can't cope with by myself - I have a Sony Xperia SP with a sim-lock for Spanish Vodafone. I found out it's possible to get rid of it for free - I just need to follow these steps:
http://foro.vodafone.es/t5/Comunica...iberación-gratuita-de-mi-teléfono/td-p/439063
And here's the problem - I need a Vodafone number. Could somebody use his "Mi Vodafone" account and order an unlock code for me, please?
Bump
