Apps to choose music in a phone from lists - Samsung Gear S2

The pre-installed music application of gear s2 can choose music from a list in the watch, but it doesn't show me lists of music stored in my phone.
Are there any apps to choose music in the phone from list ?
If not, someone, please make it!

I met the same problem. I didn't find any app witch the function. I wrote to author of Filesmaster to ask about adding TXT subtitles and
he promised to add it soon and he wrote me about others function he going to add to filesmaster soon. This app plays music files like smasung stock
player but have none playing lists. Author is going to add music list or/and create seperate music player.
You can write to author too and ask about this feature. I used email from Samsung Apps shop: [email protected].
Cheers!

There's not as far as I know. But you can send the songs to your watch via samsung gear app.

I just had updated Filesmaster to version 2.0. Author improved music player. It can play music files inside folder in normal way, one by one, random, lopping etc.
Looks nice. Maybe it meet your requirements.

[Q] Offline songs in Google Play Music?

Hello, I just want to know how the Google Play Music app know where and how to select the songs on my device's local storage in order to play them in the app? In fact, on the external SD card of my phone, I made a folder with all my songs in it and when I open the app, all songs will automatically loads up in the app. But the question is that the setting of the app is dead simple; it does not even have the "music folder' selection in which I can tell what songs the app have to scan. Why and how everything comes out automatically and what happens if I have more than one "music folder"? How to app will scan? Thanks.
I want to know this as well cause Google Music isn't bad but just being able to play music when your online is just crap when you have music stored on your phone.
Android has something called a media scanner, it usually runs after boot has completed (it may also update here and then while the device is running).
So this media scanner scans all your data for music/videos/pictures so that these files can easily be accessed by any app. So it does not matter where your files are, it just finds them.
If you add music through any non standard app to your storage this may not trigger the media scanner, thats why recently added music may not show in those apps using the media scanners results.

ISO music player app

I am looking for a music player app. Nothing fancy. I have 1 request that it MUST do.
I have 2 folders on my phone: "Music" and "Audiobooks"
I want the music app to play stuff ONLY found in the "Music" folder. So far every app I have tried cannot be regulated to 1 main folder (in "Music" I have many sub-folders). So when I push shuffle I get audiobooks in there as well. I do not want that.
This will be installed on an unroofed galaxy 5S with up to date software.
I would recommend MortPlayer Music and MortPlayer Audiobook!
I use it myself for many years and I'm satisfied.
Oh common man...you can do that with any music player.....just rename the folder "audiobooks" to ".audiobooks".......ie just put a dot before the folder name..... And all music players will stop scanning files from that folder..... You may need to clear media database first......for that simplest method is settings-apps-all apps-com.android.providers.media-clear data.......then reboot and wait for a while so that all the stuff in our gallery and music player comes back...this time nothing will show up from audiobooks folder.
GoneMAD Music Player. You can select which folders are to be scanned and thus which audio files are shown in the music library.
I believe poweramp has this feature, too.
Honestly, if you want to go deep with it, I would use this modded Sony Walkman app. It is awesome and most, if not all features work depending on device and Android version.
Check it out HERE

Music player on startup

Hello.
I have a little question regarding the music player on the gear S2. I am using the gear S2 to listen music when I am at the sports club. While doing sport, it is not easy to make a lot of manipulation on the watch. However, every time my watch is activating, it is showing the watch face. I have to manipulate to go to the music player if I want to pass a track for example.
Is there any way to display directly the music player when the watch is waking up or a watch face that would allow to directly control the music player more easily ?
By advance, thank you.

Two options:
1. Assign the home button to open Music Player when pressed twice. Settings>Device>Double Press Home Key>Music Player.
2. Use a watchface that includes a "tap zone" that opens Music Player when you tap it. I design my watchfaces to do this.
AFAIK, there currently is no ability to set the S2 to wake-up in Music Player. I have requested/complained to Samsung to include a wake-up to last used app option, and they just laughed at me and said go away pissant.

you can try Music Player S2, it got internal engine to copy any audio files to gear s2 from a phone
Thank you. Affecting the music player to the double press home key button is enough. However, to make it even more easy for manipulation during sport, i finally found and opted for bluetooth earphones that integrate full control button on it.
And yes, Samsung have one of the worst customer's service that can be imagined. It was so difficult to obtain informations about the release of their new phone in Japan... But Japanese customer seem to not forget easily. The popularity of the brand in Japan is bad enough for them to close their unique Shop in one of the bigger town in Japan. They are making great products but are really bad at communication.

google play music

Can anyone tell me if the gear s3 is able to stream Google play music? Or is compatible with the Google play music app??
I think it should be working on any default music player on device, as mine can control the spotify without any problems
I can control the music from my phone while it's playing music via Google play but I don't think it can stream directly to the watch. I was glad it's able to do that at the least. You can play, pause, and skip songs, view the song list, and even control the volume.
Spotify will be released mid December for our watches

I have a personal beef with Spotify. (Somebody hacked my account. They can restore playlists, but not my "Liked or Added" music. Apparently those aren't playlists. Long story short I lost about a year and a half of collected music. So yeah....
Anybody know if there is word or intent to bring GPM to the S3? It's nice to at least be able to control the music with our watch when it's playing from the phone, but, would be REALLY nice if I could just leave the phone at home and stream GPM while out and about. Kind of why I got the LTE variant in the first place.
Furthermore, does anybody know if spotify and potentially GPM, will use up the data allotment or will that also fall under tmobiles free music streaming thing?

I would love to know the same, I just got the subscription for Google play music and don't want to be tied down to just Spotify.
And with the data, my plan on T-Mobile is unlimited everything, for just $5 more than the 500mb plan. I'm not savvy on their plan details as I have only been a customer since Wednesday.
I can control Play Music from my watch with the music playing through my phone speaker. I haven't tried using the watch speaker.
Same issur: would like to take my gpm playlist standalone on the s3 for workout amd peave the phone at home. Until now not possible. Except maybe by physically downloading the playlust to sd card of the phone (i think there are apps for this) and then transfer to s3 via gear companion app... Complicated.
Come on guys - its never going to happen. This isn't like iOS where there's a huge market lead. And without an api there's no way for someone else to code it as well.

THere is an API that at least someone knows, you can download any song in your library (even subscription songs) using an app on the play store called Cloud Music Importer. If you can view your library, and download the songs, its got an api.

Can you select a playlist from your watch? I like this feature on my Android wear device and it would be nice if the Gear also can do that.

Here's a screenshot of what it can do. The phone looking icon changes audio source from phone to watch, and the open app option allows you to see the list of songs in your current playlist. I don't see any option for selecting the playlist though, its always showed me the last song that I've streamed.

Download the app Music Mate to your phone. It lets you get the songs off of Google music as standard MP3 files. You can then Port them to your phone.
Music Mate is free for a few songs and then there's a fairly low purchase price for unlimited downloads.
Yes Gear S3 Streams Google play Music
YES -- absolutely -- by default
Is there a way to save downloaded music from Google Play Music to the Gear S3?

How do you then get the music onto the watch?
My GWA2 only has an option to 'automatically sync' in the Gear app. The problem with this is it brings over all the voice messages from my Telegram group chats, and also the tracks I use to sleep to (10 hours of white noise) which basically fills the watch up immediately.

Question Samsung galaxy watch 4 - Play music offline

Hi everyone,
I bought the watch, I have a one plus phone and galaxy pro earbuds.
However, I don't have spotify or youtube premium.
I wonder how I can listen to music offine (for sports: to fo for a run).
Thanks
You can sync music from your phone to the GW4 and it will be available off line. I have a Samsung phone and have tracks on the phone. Here I use Samsung Music and it allows me to create playlist on the phone.
Then I use the Wear app and go to Watch Settings and select Manager content then select the playlist.

I have tracks on my oneplus phone, however, I cannot find the right app that matches with the samsung music app on the watch because the app cannot be downloaded on the oneplus nord. I tried several from the play store but none work. Any ideas?
Getting Samsung Music may not work.. It could be locked out on non Samsung devices.
Perhaps you can load the music manually using Wear File Manager. Here you install Wear File Manager on your watch. The app is suppose to connect to PC/phone to uploads files.
I check and the music on my GW4 and they are installed in directory Music/GalaxyWearable(/AutoSync (.m4a) and the playlist are in Music (.m3u)
good luck!
